The beauty thing for you atheists is your choice to not believe in God's Wrath for disobedience.

You can deny Him, and do. All's cool... The one constant of recorded history, Man and his Creator. But we who believe are 'delusional' ...

You can hope you are right and we are delusional. But hay, this was all foretold by 'Prophets'

2 Timothy 3:1-5

Godlessness in the Last Days

3 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Aw what the hay, it means nothing, it's only the word of that God of our Delusion...

Name one time in human history where humans weren't selfish assholes to each other. Bet you can't.

How was that a deflection or an attack? Believe it or not, it's possible to disagree without it being a personal attack against someone...

I quoted "God's words" and asked you to put them to the test logically. That description is rather vague and any student of history, no matter how small, should be able to tell you that humans have largely been selfish and violent throughout human history. So exactly how could that description describe a point of time in human future that is unlike the rest of human history that is just as violent and selfish? If anything, this time period should be an exemption since violence and war are overall down and unity and cohesion is up.

See. Now THIS is a deflection. Instead of actually addressing my points you come back with a simple cliche to dismiss my request.

You are the one who wrote a smug post basically saying you'll have the last laugh on believing in god then cited that passage like it was credible. So I'm putting its credibility to the test yet you get offended instead. This is the difference between atheists and you believers. We're actually willing to put "god's words" to the test through logic and evidence and not just believe they are true just because they showed up in a book some yahoo years removed from ourselves decided meant something significant.

Ahhh.... did I say all that ? Me offended ? na, no, no, no..... I am quite content. Now were this the mud-pit, perhaps the dialog would have went differently.... or not. Because you don't like the conversation you are putting me to the test ?

More like I was merely trying to challenge your thinking, but I guess you are just too resistant to opening your mind to new ideas and considerations.

I think 'In God we trust', is an unsuitable statement for public schools as it sends out the wrong message to pupils. It implies that the school 'trusts in God', or supports the idea that there is a God. Public schools shouldn't be supporting creationism other than as another topic for study or some such.

Just a little reminder, Krazyshot and Plotus...

This thread is not meant for a debate on the broader questions posed by the existence of opposing views on religion. The discussion here today, is meant to be focused on the issue of whether separation of church and state are threatened when decisions like this are made about state run buildings, or not.

While there is value in the debate you are having, it seems to be somewhat off topic.

Aw.... my British friend I hit Esc to stop the gif motion....... There is much wisdom in what you say, and I guess there are bigger issues than debate.... I will just abide now and listen/read...

I suggest "in Allah we trust," or "in Dinosaurs we lust," that way we can equally offend everyone.

If I had children, some of you believe it's in your power to control the power of my child to have the option of choice regarding their own beliefs.

And that you get to force that into public schools.

Fair enough - maybe the first church of cannabis should be the official religion of public schools?

Didn't we spend eight years hearing from the same group of people that Obama was going to implement this across the country?

Perhaps 'In education we trust', might be more appropriate.

So everyone is against a state putting their state motto on buildings.

And people think I'm nuts.
