Italy becomes the next European country to fall to a populist, anti-migrant wave, this one featuring

I heard from Italian unnamed sources that it's a good idea to walk 180Km, just to go to buy salt to another city, as grand-grand mothers used to do right before WW2!
That's excellent news for Prime Minister Gentiloni, who can get rid of his fleet of official high security bullet-proof cars and walk to his office every morning with a bag of salt on his head.
All of this in the hope that some "salt", penetrates his skull and positively affects his brain!

I was in Italy a few months ago, Florence and Rome and there were loads of African migrants harassing tourists and locals alike. Some quite aggressively.

Know the bracelet scam? They cornered my then pregnant wife and tried that on her while I was getting some food. Three guys surrounding her, one tying a bracelet around her wrist without letting her hand go, promising this was a free gift. When she tried to walk away, they wouldn't release her hand and demanded a donation. Then two others came up and started shouting at her. I ran over, pulled out a knife and cut the bracelet off and told them to F off as I've seen this scam before in another multicultural paradise, Paris. Otherwise they follow and threaten you until you pay.

I do know these guys are just trying to get money to survive and yet that's part of the problem lefties don't understand. That being bringing in waves of migrants which a) aren't educated and can't contribute to society and b) not having a way to be able to provide for them. I'd wager you're unlikely to see migrant doctors and accountants accosting pregnant women with the bracelet scam.

To me, it is still not completely clear how does the "spread" work ! I wonder how come that nobody in Italy or NATO. has yet come up with the idea to blame the "spread" on Russia.

Imagine the newspaper's title : "Spread" between Italian bonds and German bonds orchestrated by Russian hackers in 2012. Now that would be funny !

There are criminals all over the world, scanners and pickpockets are everywhere so being vigilant as a tourist is important....

However we both know you have embellished that story in the same way the media do, it seems you are learning how to do fake news..

The migrant crisis in Italy which started in 1996, was carefully orchestrated as a slave trading technique by Italian presidents Scalfaro, Ciampi, Napolitano and most recently also by Mattarella with full collaboration of all political sides and all of the oligarchical circles that constantly demand lower wages for the employees.
Too bad they always forget to demand less taxes from the government! Only low wages!

No, the EU are making sure that no one will be able to leave the EU once the UK go. The EU are not helping a smooth process with the UK and in some areas (like Ireland) are acting in a away that will encourage divisive politics. Accepting migrants at will in a country which is struggling to meet it obligations to those who have a birthright to them is not xenophobic, it’s stupid.

If Africa and the Middle East cannot sort their own issues out, then by exporting their problems they never will, they will just drag the rest of us into the third world.

Luckily for me I won’t be alive when Europe passes tipping point, but at the current rate it will pass and will tip.

There is only one solution and it’s not mass migration, we need to invest in turning Africa around instead of raping it.

Africa and the Middle East have problems, its true. But they did not create their problems. They did not create their own economic troubles, they did not create their tendency to become hotbeds of terrorism. The west created those circumstances, by decades of exploitation of resources from those regions, facilitated by creating such havoc by purchasing mercenaries and proxy agent terror factions in the regions concerned, all with the express intent of either making those regions incapable of advocating for their own interests, or making labour and therefore resources so incredibly cheap, that they could be basically swindled away from their nations of origin.

Look Forensick, you seem to be under a false impression here, so I am going to attempt to relieve you of it.

The UK, France, Germany, the other continental European nations... they CAN afford immigration, WAAAAAAAY more of it than any of them have ever experienced, or will ever experience. The current tendency toward austerity politics in those nations is a far greater driver of poverty and declining services in any of those nations, than ever is the arrival of a few million people from elsewhere in the world.

Even if you combine all the money spent housing migrants, all the money spent on benefits for people in the UK, you get a figure which is markedly less than the cost of large companies, failing to pay all or indeed any of the taxes they rightly owe the British economy. If you add up all the corporate entities unpaid tax, you get a number of pounds that makes every other bloody thing look utterly meaningless. The UK is not the only nation to have discovered this. The Eurozone knows the same, but both the European Parliament and the UK parliament have a disturbing obsession with austerity, despite solutions being available. All it would be necessary to do, is to force companies trading in a given nation, to have their HQ and their tax address, in that country, so that they pay the correct amount of tax, in every nation in which they trade. That would be fair and right. The government will refuse to do that, because the governments members make money from those companies, all too often owning either shares in them, or receiving kickbacks from them, in order to keep their affairs out of the cross hairs of new legislation.

THAT is what is strangling our economy.

And then you have the other issue, which is that our country continues to spend unfathomable sums of money on destroying other nations, then has the temerity to complain when the citizens of those nations, quite sensibly, want to be here in the UK, which is the only place, they believe, where people are safe from the violence enacted by our government. Of course, they fail to understand that our government has, since 2010, killed close to 120,000 of our citizens, by neglect, starvation, and denial of services and benefits, not to mention inducing suicide in massive numbers of people by the same methods. While there is money for bombs, there MUST be money for the people and for those displaced by the bombs we drop. To accept anything less, would render a person an inhuman, despicable cretin.

We need to stop bombing people into the stone age, stop economic sabotage, prevent corporations from using any loophole to get out of paying ALL possible taxes they owe, change the law so that moving company addresses, or any of the other methods that high powered accountants use to hide or reduce taxable assets, become illegal, and make companies pay their way. We absolutely MUST turn this austerity thing on its head, and accept that unless we behave with peaceful, decent, compassionate manner toward the rest of the world, we must be prepared to accept responsibility for the actions of our government. If we cannot be bothered to force our government to stop manipulating smaller economies, if we cannot be bothered to dethrone our government unless they stop making mindless and inexcusable war against largely defenceless people, if we cannot be bothered to force our intelligence services to stop creating and funding proxy armies, then we have NO business insisting that the consequences of our apathy, fall on someone else to shoulder.

The GOVERNMENT are the people we need to be angry with, and about. Immigrants have no power or agency in matters whatsoever, they are not making free choices, they are caught between a chemical weapons dump and a hard place. You and I are victims of our governments incompetence and evil Forensick, but that means we have more in common with those who arrive from abroad, than we ever do with the leaders of our government. We should express solidarity with these displaced people, not harass them and bemoan their presence!
