I have no doubt that there is an eternal/higher power at work within the framework of the entire existence of the universe.

The math and science so far shows there is such a thing at work as well.

My thing is though...Why is there choice? If there is a "Plan" for it all? it's a bit contradictory. Why would your prayer matter in any way to what some say is Destiny?

If you are the Alpha and the Omega being..then why?

We would have lived forever and had no problems, if it wasn't for Adam and Eve. But because of them, we have enlightenment. We live, we die. The devil has reign here, to do what he wants and how. It is the product if sin. But through Christ, we have armor. God can't see the sin we have, with the trust we have in Christ. The devil is also hard at work to keep as many people away from Christ as he can. He thinks he can win, but he can't and won't. Shoot, he tried many times to tempt Christ, but never did he give. He is PERFECT and he is risen!

I hear on the news, with all the shootings, cop killings, earthquakes, christians overseas being wiped out and Christianity being eroded away in the united states, we, I believe we are nearing the return Of Christ. And I am very excited! I know I will be going to heaven. Jesus Christ is my lord and savior and yours. I cannot nor can anyone else save themselves.
We are closer now then we were years ago. This is, to me the last generation and a very lucky generation to see his return. I want to spread the good word. The best is John 3:16. I know I will be ridiculed by some, but it is ok. It is a choice for all to accept Christ as savior or mock me about it. Jesus did say, it would be a tough road if you follow him.
Just me rambeling, and I am not going to ask to be easy with me. Say what you want or how you want. Your tongue is the sharpest sword on you.

Sorry dude/dudette... nothing personal; but I have to comment since I used to be a Christian. It wasted 30 years of my life... One of my dearest hopes in life is that one day all of us will renounce all religion, and just turn to the truth and start being honest with each other instead...

He's not coming. He never said anything. Jesus Christ is a fictional entity - a fiction written to enslave your mind and thoughts. The closest to "real" he currently is, is perhaps as a thought-form - created by us as a collective (his so-called creations); but possibly based on a radical political leader back in the day - who knows?

But if you need your crutch - who am I to judge? Maybe I have some more to let go of as well

There is a lot going wrong in the world at the moment if you look at the big picture (most caused by closed-minded religious and political ideologies, btw). But there's so much good happening in the details... I try and focus on that myself.

My point is... you can start taking responsibility or you can keep giving it to something fictional. Wasn't he going to be right back 2000 years ago?

Not all things done on Earth are the work of Satan though. I certainly don't feel as though my thoughts, or actions, reflect some sort of demonic undertone or deed. I would never let such evil ever influence my decision making. Do we still make dumb, selfish, uncaring decisions, at times? Sure...But i have a problem with that being labeled as demonic.

I dunno, I get that God is eternal love/Jesus, etc...It's just..you can over stimulate a person with too much of something too and having to walk around for eternity somewhere, never having one bad thought or self indulgence tendencies or any sort..forever? That sounds like hell to me, sorry.

I still just don't get the whole thing...God created Me, to save Me, From Him, as long as I use My free will and accept Him as My Lord and Savior or I burn in a pit of Hell? Isn't there a word for that?

It's narcissistic. The word you are looking for is narcissistic.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Satan was the actual father of Jesus?

Hey...before you drink the kool-aid, remember what the good book says, Man will not know the time or place of my return.

Actually, it says you won't know the day nor hour. Issac Newton came up with 2060 for the year. Could be he is close to right.
Mathew 25.13
"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

What does this:
'You shall have no other gods before me. “'You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or.
have to do with Satan being Jesus Father?

"Truly I say to you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done." - Mark 13:30

The generation that saw the full growth or the weeds and wheat, the full bloom and fruit of the tree...the signs.

The beginning of the end was at Jesus birth, 2000 years to god is nothing.

What is wrong with the world is Mankind has fallen and mankind is no longer the perfect and graceful creature God made. Mankind prefers to be their own god. We could not possibly imagine what was given up the perfect balance and mental happiness and perfect earth.

Religions have zero to do with the creator or his Son.

Question:

Does He or does He NOT forgive all His children?

If I don't believe in his existence or doings, am I still one of His children?

I assume God created all of us *IF HE IS REAL* so then wouldn't we all be forgiven if we ask for it?

-Alee (I believe in higher powers I just don't believe in the catholic God)

PS not trying to be rude, generally curious as I've heard the phrase God forgives all His children and it's confused me for a very long time.

He forgives all but expects certain behavior. it is expected that if you believe and have faith you will also change behavior.
When Jesus spoke to the prostitute he said go and sin no more.

You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. (James 2:24)

Luke 18-9-14

Jesus told this parable: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Kinda hate to rain on your parade, but there are more Christians worldwide today that at any other time in history. I went into more detail in another thread (here's my post), but to summarize:

1. Christianity is by far the dominant religion in Central America, South America, the Caribbean, and sub-Saharan Africa.

2. Europe and North America are still Christian-majority by a large margin.

3. The decreases in the numbers of Christians in the US, Canada, and Europe are being more than offset by the increases in Christians worldwide.

4. I'll simply quote the post I mentioned above for this one:

Pew Research estimated that in 2010 there were 2.16 billion Christians worldwide (HERE, check the 2010 tab), which is where the 2.2 billion Christians worldwide stat comes from. But Pew's estimates show that there were 2.3 billion Christians in 2015 (HERE), meaning there was a net increase of 100 million Christians in just 5 years. How does that equate to Christianity waning?

If you know the parables of the fig tree then this prophecy is awfully interesting. In the book of Hosea there is a prediction that Israel was supposed to face a long term Leviticus 26 curse. And it gives the timeframe of the curse as 2000 years. Followed by the day of Jezreel as lasting for a thousand years after that.

After looking at that and the Matthew 24 predictions I would say that the end of the curse would be no later than May of 2028. So if it's going to happen it's going to happen in the next 10 years.

So I guess brimstone and fire and worst of it all, seperation from God is more appealing?.... There is no second chance when you die and come face to face with God. He only asked one thing of you...John 3:16

Thanks for illustrating my point. There is no such thing. You and your comrades made that up. Several billion people currently, and several tens of billion historically, have not been subject to your cult beliefs and are not affected by such delusions. To me Heaven is being free from Christianity and other cults. The rest can count their blessings that they have never heard of it.

Actually We were probably too stupid to know what We wanted remember we weren't enlightened. I'm guessing unenlightened would be what it took to make the whole world believe in such a silly concept.

Ahhh SeaWorthy (nice nickname btw - I really love the sea myself; been a surfer for 20 years)...

I actually don't want to get into debate... because, I hear we've been at this for 2000 years or so? Maybe more? I've got limited time and I've been on BOTH sides now as well... So I guess this reply is more just FYI to expand my previous comment in context of your reply, for anyone that's interested to read - from my point of view

First the verse:

That verse is like the cream on the cake when it comes to proof against Christianity. I meant the wink emoticon after it as a slightly more light sign-off, but in context of the post...

It really is neither here nor there - but is interesting in that it does give you a glimpse into the potential mind-set of the creators of the Jesus story. Its as vague as Nostradamus' predictions/claims - and exactly as reliable and open to endless interpretation. Useful as a cliff-hanger...

"NEXT WEEK... UHH... CENTURY... UHH TIME... ON... JESUS!"

Secondly the "creator and the son":

Ok so, to the point... Answer me this (rhetorical question):

Can you prove that your "creator" and his "son" are exactly who they say they are? That they actually exist? Who else, objectively, can you consult about this as a reliable witness? Why is this witness reliable?

In other words: do you have a third, independent party that is willing to step forward to confirm with proof that these entities do in fact exist and that their alleged testimony about who and what they are is truthful and accurate? Can this potential independent party provide proof of their own testimony and proof to confirm their own independence from man-kind and these alleged entities? Can these entities provide proof of their own identities and claims (made in the bible)?

Proof is sometimes hard to come by... but if they are who they say they are, that shouldn't be a problem for them. And we have the right to expect VERY solid proof from them, based on some the potentially reckless claims they've made concerning our very lives, fates and existence...

But, they haven't really been very forthcoming on this, so far... skepticism is healthy - its the natural enemy of gullibility.

Which brings us to: if the proof above can't be provided... Why should I believe the claims? Who gives these entities the right or the power to pronounce what's happening to my eternal soul in the grand scheme of things? How have they proven ownership of me? What valid ground do they have? What valid ground do you have? Why should I believe them (even if they DID exist)? Why should I believe you?

It doesn't matter how many gymnastics you do to the verse above or any other verse... it remains fiction until proven otherwise. You need proof and a reliable third party to confirm it, otherwise based on current rationally observable evidence - its just hear-say or fiction.

Which then means that religion, unfortunately by its very definition, has everything to do with Jesus Christ and his alleged father.

A definition we can use

But, maybe you're right, maybe the creator and his son are still out there... but they might just not be Jesus and Dad...

If so... then based on the major body of currently observable evidence, they really want to be left alone

Maybe they'll like us more and sort things out if we respected that?
But, if not, or until then - we're going to have to take responsibility for ourselves and start to sort things out for ourselves.

Lastly:

With that in mind then... regarding "The Fall of Man." Where did you get the information from? Could your source possibly have had an agenda? In other words, does the idealogy or theory of the "Fall of Man" imply a positive effect for man's mind-set or a negative one? And could it benefit any of the entities above in any way with this agenda - if there is one? Could something else have happened? Could it have happened more or less as the theory goes - but have the details been messed with?

Lots of lingering questions there...
Unless your source of proof is "the good book"

Unfortunately, using it as your source of proof, you'll run into this problem:

The only verification we have of truthfulness of the claims in its contents is based on circular reasoning...
Its rather silly.

But we all get silly sometimes. I know I like to, contrary to the above and more often than not (its how I've been trying to unsuccessfully impress girls for 20 years).

If you do too, we might just get along, however

I'm out, have a good night (its past midnight here now),
Cheese
