If your son or daughter was a victim of this shooting, I'm sure your perspective would be quite different and in-line with the current outrage. Then of course, if you don't have kids of your own, you could never relate.

I actually thought many of the high school students who lived through the shooting and commented about the in-action by our "adult" legislators related to gun control, was well said. To downplay the outrage of this shooting shows that many who have obsessions with guns, lack the sympathy nor the clear understanding that gun legislation has worked in other countries.

((: so, its something sexual to handle a gun? interesting. in germany, its not a important issue, because its a safe place to be, and we have police. in my family no one has a gun. what makes me feel good is music, soccer, women and movies. and when i want to fight, i play ps4 for a few hours or arguing with someone.

by the way, i like america. its a great mixture of everything. what is alarming: the growing of fascism.

...and we have police.

The average police response time in the United States is 10 minutes, I'd rather rely on myself at that point.

True, but you're a "comfortable" Mason, and we all know that means they're parked around the corner waiting for you to hit your LifeAlert.

Right. Those ridiculous kids, getting shot to hell just to carry water for the media.

This thread is apparently just another pathetic attempt to divert conversation away from gun control.

Yeah, I'm sure that's it...even though I've stated exactly the opposite, but you go ahead and keep with your theory seeing how that's what makesyou feel good.

I'm really not sure what it's about, other than being in very poor taste.

i know people today who would be dead and gone if they didnt have their gun to protect them.

i have others who are gone and dead because they got shot and didnt have a way to defend themselves.
Gun control in america will work just like drug control worked.

We wouldn't need gun control policing our schools if we had smaller community schools with involved parents and we actually knew the families. We would know the trouble spots, be aware and take action before something like this happens.

Teachers, administration and students are all responsible for communicating the problems so that troubled kids are taken where they get the help they need. Smaller schools in communities is the answer. We don't need armed police at our schools. We needs responsible people paying attention who know each other and family situations.

An entire overhaul of this awful school system, ut by 16 if school education is not your thing. We need to stop enforced schools for over 16-they are adults by then and can make decisions about how to proceed with their education. They don't need to be forced to attend boring-ridiculous classes with ridiculous rules.

This isn't the 1800s anymore-no agricultural school calendars and forced education. And we don't need guns at schools.
For anyone-including teachers.

Good grief, a flip through the media and you'd think the FL shooting by this monster was the only news which had happened in the past year! And this is hardly the case!

Isn't it somewhat curious that this news story has all but completely consumed the media coverage of just about anything else? Right about the same time the other shoe was going to drop on the FBI/Russia-Gate thing (whammo) the FL shooting happens and all the spotlights turn over there. A little convenient isn't it?

Now, I am not suggesting in any way that the tragic incident in FL was any type of an intentional diversion, but it sure does happen to be a convenient one (for the media anyway)!

So, while everyone else is wringing their hands and gnashing their teeth figuring out what to "ban" next...what's happening in the rest of the world? What's happening on the FBI corruption front? Where's Hillary? Where are the memos? What's going on?

Bottom line; look how quickly the media dropped that whole narrative like a hot rock to eagerly salivate over blood-lust somewhere else...anywhere else! Anything to change the focal point of the spotlight!

You wan't real international news? Try RT or China CCTV.

You make a point far too sensible for many to understand. I agree with you completely.

In the same 24 hour period yesterday, twice that number of people were killed on highways and roadways in this country. What about them?

My local news does reports quite often on road deaths and causes. State Patrol is interviewed at least once a month about anything from speed enforcement to new types of guardrails to accident prone work-zones.

Every traffic fatality in my area makes the news. Though I have to say I don't think somebody in LA would really care about a traffic collision fatality in my neck of the woods.

They might care about somebody walking into a school and murdering a whole bunch of people though. Can't imagine why.

Media said his voices told him to do it. Voices are not schizophrenia. Its implants that hide and a brain programs it. The real manipulators hide and try to create chaos by attacking vulnerable and influencable targets.

We live in a time where pretty much everyone gets to explore whatever "news" they want. Fragmentation of common culture is where were are, and it's entirely possible that if you didn't want to hear anything about the Florida school shooting you wouldn't have to.

More people are realistically interested in the Academy Awards or Jennifer Aniston's love life than they are the shooting. These shootings are getting to be so common that unless they're directly affected, people just can't sustain any emotional interest in them for very long -- particularly if less than a dozen people are killed. Just like that last school shooting. Remember that one? No?

Yes, we have become desensitized and emotionally and spiritually fatigued. Overloaded senses.
