An Aussie? Who gives a damn what you think?

I don't.

Gee, do you think it just might have to do with the arrangement Obama made to take those 'refugees' that you wouldn't?

If your leader wants to act like Merkel, she's gonna get treated like her. Take about incompetent? She's unwinding a very long relationship. Her. Not Trump. Reality.

Our leader isn't bending knee to that left wing madwoman. We shall see who needs the other more....
lol... If you truly didn't care, then you wouldn't have felt it was even worth the energy you wasted tapping those few words out on your keyboard, to tell everyone about how much you don't give a damn.

Anyway... the whole idea sounds a little 'underdeveloped country mentality' to me.

The US doesn't need to publicly prove anything to anyone... They're already the undisputed most powerful military power in the world... The day they they feel they need to 'prove' it, by putting their military power on public display, is the day the rest of world starts to wonder if they have something to worry about...

Trumps already tarnished the US's perceived supremacy enough, by treating Kim Jong Un as a serious threat to the US on twitter!

A true confident leader of an all powerful nation, wouldn't even waste a few seconds of his day, to type out petty insults to the leader of a (supposedly) 3rd world nation... on twitter!

The point where I do comment on is watching Australia socially go down Mr. Crapper's invention, all the while ensuring it's security via the U.S. and it's 'weak leadership'. This current leader will back you up. Can you say with any certainty that Obama would?

Neither Obama or Bush, or any other US president in modern day history (for that matter), has allowed its most loyal ally to go without a US ambassador for over a year...

Its now past an incidental oversight and now literally becoming a diplomatic insult!

Or maybe its just clear evidence of how incompetent Trump is, when it comes to foreign relations...

I'm not sure what the fuss is about. This year is the 100th anniversary of the accepted end of the Great War (WW1, and yes I know that it didn't really end until 1924 but 1918 is considered the official end date)

How is having a parade to both honor current serving services men/women, and paying respect to those that have fallen a bad thing. Or should we just "F" those that serve and crap on those of us that went where others don't? 2018 is a big year for America on the world stage, it's been 100 years of America having and helping it's allies. In my opinion a military parade is a fine way to show this fact off.

But what if the 90 plus million who voted for him want it too? I guess we cannot all be Little as you say since some were women...The last thing you can do when you are at a loss in an argument is attack a mans manhood and it usually because you are lacking yourself.

What is wrong with showing who you are? So there can be a parade of Trasngenders and it is applauded but if it is the Military it cannot happen?

Hah this can't get funnier. A Democratic congresswoman spoke on CNN today about Trump's interest in holding a military parade in Washington compared him to Napoleon.

MAGA!

Well I cant wait to hear her denouncing China then. Popping the corn now....

Why not?

The kids would love putting on a show.

Let's see what they got!

Black Triangle flyover, Laser cannons, Stealth tech, holographic and audio diversions , time travel suits and the robot army!

All coming out of a portal and leaving the same way.

MAGA!

Hmm...
Seems like a waste of tax dollars and a waste of military resources. The Military has a hard enough job without having to plan and execute some extravagant parade. They have more important work to do.
It makes no sense to me.
What's the point of it all?

PS - No one with half a brain doubts the US military's power. So no, that can't explain the reasons behind this.

Sounds a little third-world-esque to me. Sort of shameless really, like if Bill Gates wanted to put his money on parade.
Like decorating your house in all gold. heh. It's beneath us.

But Missiles being paraded down our streets? Celebrating our ability to kill? Everybody knows we can do it. It's nothing short of tacky and conspicuously flamboyant to flaunt it like this, and I don't think anybody is going to be impressed.

I vote no.

90 million didn't vote for Trump.

137.5 million Americans voted in 2016. Trump was near or below half the popular vote, which puts him in the 63-68 million vote range.

That's ironic, given that world doesn't think you're weak. It thinks you have a stupid president.

1. No country marks the end of WWI with a show of strength. It is marked with great solemnity. WWII is another matter.

2. The rest of the world knows you only turned up at the end of the show.

3. The war ended because of the Marxist mutinies and uprisings in Germany at the end of October 1918. For some strange reason, the MSM pretends that didn't happen.

Real strength doesn't need to cock dance. It stands in the back with its hands in its pockets and handles stuff when stuff needs handling.

Everyone else = Banana republic, tin-pot, tv dinner dictators and totalitarian wannabes.

I've never met a single American military man (or woman) who wouldn't rather have a day off than march in some figurehead's parade.

We're better than that here, even if you don't remember why.

No it doesn't.

People in military have witnessed the effects of War and parading around showing off how many bombs you have, well, is a bit like saying 'hey i've killed people, lots of people and i'm proud of it'.

Sure why not?? You do know the heel spurs was only temporary CD he was still put in to draft pool. Many people were avoiding the draft at least he did it legally by attending college. Others like Bill Clinton just didn't show when he was drafted.

In the US we have Veterans Day Parades on "Veterans Day" which is Nov 11 (which is in honor of the armistice of 11 November 1918)

True, but then again if Germany would have left us alone, we wouldn't have gotten involved in the first place.
Besides, if we didn't get involved the war would have been over much sooner, but with Germany holding the flag of victory. While there may have been a public outcry in Germany, the Keiser still had his allies that were driving the war. The Ottoman Empire would probably had just stepped all over Germany if the war had continued on without American intervention.

Turkey signed their peace treaty until 1924.

Pointless. We honor the military all the time. Also, why not help veterans instead of wanting to display military to feed your ego?

typical , waste troops time with a dog and pony show . the time could be better spent on training or give the troops some leave to spend time with their family instead .

How do you come to that conclusion? They are not with their families now? Trump is going to pull them out of the middle east for the parade? lol I don't think you have clue to what you are talking about...

Sorry but as a vet, the LAST thing we’d want to do on Veterans Day is March in a parade in uniform. That day is for free lunches and time spent with family on one of our few days off.

Don't care I like them it's a good day out.
We used to have air shows and still have military pomp in the UK so go for it.
I bet the troops will enjoy it also give them a grand day trip.

As a former military member, they won’t enjoy it. The LAST thing most troops want is to get dressed up and march in formation. It sucks!

I'd love to see a military parade. If we can waste billions on welfare and illegals, we can spend a few million to give thanks to our service men and woman.
