Want to honor our military and vets?

Use the millions for this parade to effing help the VA take care of us.

This bluster and show does nothing to help us.

Times have changed....like they do.

Military parades used to be for 'banana republics,' the Soviets and the Chinese. They were usually associated with Communists and South American left-wing dictatorships. Nationalistic propaganda parades for nations on the wrong side of the power equation.

Can you see how wrong you are?

Fair enough. I didn't realise Trump was aiming for small-scale parades. For some crazy reason, I thought he'd be aiming for something 'yuge' like the old Soviets or the Chinese communists. You know what I mean? Something to show the NKs what a real parade looks like.

The US military doesn't get enough attention.

We dont want attention as much as we want to be taken care of by our gov when we come home.

We dont need to be in the lime light, we joined out of our own pride to help our country and give back.

A simple thank you is enough, but please dont waste millions in tax dollars on a One day show, when that money could go into fixing a system that is broke.

22 vets a day , 22 kill themselves, because we cant get the proper treatments when so many come home from battle, and IF we can get seen in a manner that is timely, they throw medications at us and send us out the door.

Want to honor us? Honor us by spending that money on fixing this.

Of course Cadet Bone Spurs wants a military parade in his honor, he was too much of a coward to go to the Nam', so this will bolster his weak self image.

The last prez never served, and his vice president was a draft dodger, and his secretary of state wasn't any better.

Back to that FAUX outrage.

Faux outrage?

That's funny, considering how you're "outraged," over draft dodgers on the sole merit of them having a (D) rather than an (R).

Sloppy.

Obama was born in 1961, the "draft" was over in 1973 when it went to voluntary service......Obama didn't "dodge the draft" when he was 12 years old....but knowing that would have required......reading before opening mouth

Nobody said he 'dodged the draft'.

The last prez never served

WHAT part of that was confusing?

Sure is funny.

Trump haters supported dodging going to war when it came to Iraq, and Afghanistan.

A retired Army general just gave an epic response to Trump’s military parade demand

“For someone who just declared it was ‘treasonous’ to not applaud him, and for someone who has, in the past, admired tactics of everyone from Saddam Hussein to Vladimir Putin, it is clear that a military parade isn’t about saluting the military – it’s about making a display of the military saluting him.”

This here is one of the reasons many folks have rolly eyes at Generalismo bone spurs el presidante for life Senior Donald Trump's military parade, this is for his own honor, folks against this crap included some Reps.

So us vets, who served many of us in combat situations, are snowflakes if we dont agree that he should be spending millions on a parade, instead of using those millions to help fix the VA so we can be in better shape when we come home?

Sound thinking there bud

My suggestion is that PTSD would appear to be the source of much of the mental illness that you cite as being a factor in homelessness among vets. And that would be a better way of spending the Pentagon's spare change...more so than a parade.

I guess you need to prove your point, so we will put old Johnny in charge to pick and choose what is best OK? If I was going to go after something it would be pork barrel that is 100s of billions miss spent in so many ways every year, so stick to your "we can spend the pennies on PTSD" platform...

The old "Trump Sucks!" looks good with your spend it on the troops instead statement, but it really is pennies compared to congress' pork barrel, and I fail to see your posts on doing something about that to support the troops...

For me, a fiscal conservative not exactly in favor of a standing army to begin with, i just see it as needless waste of government employees whose need is questionable to begin with.

I'm not sure what you mean? Do you feel we do not need a standing Army and the rest of the world would go along with that? You sound like a person who feels insurance is a waste of time too.

I guess I just see supporting the troops (yours AND ours) as a no-brainer that only arises for comment with particularly egregious examples of pissing away the defence budget. So I don't buy the "it's pennies" excuse. I'd rather see a bunch of vets saying thank you than an old chicken-hawk wave around a metaphorical dick that he had no hand in providing in the first place.

Johnny, I feel that you dislike Trump so much that if he found the cure for cancer and made it free for all you would have something negative to say about him, so please understand my skepticism in all this. We debate something as mundane as a parade, but Blue angels have a budget of 35 million per year and they are one of many. How much does Fleet Week in multiple cities cost per year that all start with a huge parade of ships (can't be cheap) and lasts a week long..I can go on and on, but here we have Trump that says a parade would be nice and we get "oh the horrors" responses.

While I agree that there should be a military parade, I also 1000% agree with what you're saying.
Countries need to look after their veterans a hell of a lot better then they currently are.
They ask of men to go through hell, to leave their loved ones behind, to forget having a normal life, to sacrifice all that, to serve their country, and often these days to serve the interests of globalists(but that's besides the point), and these men come back to what? Not a hell of a lot.
Now maybe I'm wrong, but imo a military parade, where patriots can stand proud, is a great way to stand up to the leftist antifa nonsense gripping the USA predominantly but also the rest of the western world.
Reversing the damage done to the education system with the leftist nonsense will take time. Meanwhile another generation goes through the nonsense indoctrination of hating them selves and their country.
A system where parents are made powerless over their children more and more, so that said indoctrination can take place. People too scared to speak up for what they believe in, for the love of their country, because they fear being persecuted and wrongly labelled as fascists. Well, a military parade, where the silent majority can take their kids, to help break the indoctrination cycle, would be good.
Maybe reduce the number of other parades held, and have one almighty big one.
And I'm sure in the Petagons 600+ billion budget every year they can find more then 20 million to help veterans.
Of course they first have to figure out how it's going to be profitable for the military industrial complex and the generals whose wheels they grease.

Check back with me when he does just that. Given his track record on getting every American the health care they need, I've kinda got my doubts.

Because there comes a point when you have to say "Seriously? You can't make this # up!"

So why do you feel the need to protest about a simple parade when we have tons of them every year, including massive ships parading...100 million spent in airshows etc etc... I would like you to repost all your thoughts on the money going to Fleet Week across many coastal cities on how that money should have gone to our PTSD.

Just saying...
