Let me paint a picture for you

Its 1987, you are old enough to finally go to the mall and hang out with your friend..suddenly, overnight a super mega pop star out of nowhere makes a remake of a song

Sure, its catchy..cute little jingle by a hot teen you wanna be with, but its a bit cutesy...still, not bad.

You hear it once, twice, a few times...yeah...its easy to learn, she is still cute as pie. its on the radio, people are doing improvs in malls singing her song...then you hear it a dozen to two dozen times...then more. if you turn on the radio its that song, go into a dept store trying to attract youth and its that song..you cant escape it.....there is no spotify or pandora, tapes are expensive..eventually you are gonna turn on the radio in the late 80s...and when you do....I think we're alone now...endlessly..only to be occasionally broken up by Debbie Gibson.

The struggle is real....we were never alone....we were haunted by you Tiffany...no matter how fast we ran!

There's actually a really good harp cover of this that I adore. Hate the original song with a passion, my kids play the crap out of it. Harp Cover Edition is very tolerable, though:
