I would allege that the DNC posed a bigger threat to the US Democratic Process than Russia ever could have.

The evidence thus far points to this, anyway.

The fact that we are even having a discussion about the democratic process proves that Russia ha succeeded. Cruise over to the Sputnik webpage to see what the Kremlin line is now. They are trashing Trump, because it's all about making Russia great again.

Read that bolded part again, but do so slowly.

That is what is known as circular logic. Do you see the fallacy now?

Let me ask you this...how did Russia undermine our democracy? You give me your list, ill give you mine on the DNC, and then we can compare notes.

Let us suppose Hillary Clinton won the electoral vote but lost the popular vote. What would Fox News be saying?

Why would I care what Fox News would be saying.

What does that have to do with Russia undermining our Democratic Processes? Ill give you a hint: im curious what you are calling a "Democratic Process" in the US.

Hillary did not win the popular vote, she won a plurality of votes in small areas of the country. The country overall, shows she wasn't that popular. To strengthen that point, the down ballot voting does not correlate to a Hillary winning the popular vote either. Overall Trump won approximately 2,600 counties to Clinton’s 500, or about 84% of the geographic United States.

From Allen West.

There are 3,141 counties in the United States.

Trump won 3,084 of them.

Clinton won 57.

There are 62 counties in New York State.

Trump won 46 of them.

Clinton won 16.
Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.

In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton only won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond)
Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.

These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.

The United States is comprised of 3, 797,000 square miles.

When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.
Large, densely populated Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc) don’t and shouldn’t speak for the rest of our country.

I live, but to serve.....

Edit. I keep that file in a folder so that when extreme lefty's start mouthing off about the fact that they hate the electoral college (because the heir apparent wasn't so apparent after all), so that I can explain WHY we have an electoral college. That will immediately shut them up. Mr. West posted that on his blog shortly after the election, and I then verified his statistics.

She won a plurality of votes in small parts of the country, she wasn't that popular across the nation. The statement still stands and is accurate, because she won 2 million votes in New York state does not equal winning the popular vote for the entire country.

EDIT: I appologise, I misconstrued what you were stating... We're both on the same page.

Yep. I had to explain where and why the concept of the electoral college was created in the first place to SO MANY leftys that were literally beside themselves. One of them is still a great friend of mine who is in a same sex marriage. She was literally screaming at me that they (Trump and his team) would be throwing them in jail for being lesbians and annul their marriage. I had to calmly explain that that scenario would absolutely never happen, but this was a narrative of the Clinton campaign to swing your vote. I asked her only yesterday if they were still married a year in, and not in jail. She still doesn't get it. She's still running scared.

People really think we in America live in a democracy. That's not completely accurate. We live in a republic of states.

We had an election that would have been contested in the media no matter which way it broke. People have long suspected that their vote does not matter. Russian propaganda is furthering that sentiment. When the electorate is dispirited, they give up on participating in the process. Do you comsidern that situation healthy?

as an independant, you know what made me believe my vote didn't matter? The rigging of the DNC primaries by Hillary, and the complete capitulation by Bernie in the aftermath.

That is something I saw happening, and can verify with admissions and various leaked emails.

This Russian thing....to me looks like smoke and mirrors to rough up Trump while smoothing over the enormous amount of butt hurt in the DNC base after they were screwed over.

A republic of states? Then why is the Department of Justice cracking down on states that legalize marijuana? What happened to conservatives rallying behind states' rights?

As an independent, I was not surprised that the Democratic primaries were arranged behind closed doors. What bothered me was the continual roar of blatant disinformation through every possible medium. Some of that was the usual partisan noisemaking, but much of it seemed designed to undercut the legitimacy of whichever candidate won. That is exactly what is happening now.

And there it is.

Hillary rigged the Democrat Primary.
WHY isn't she in prison for that?

Bernie sold out. The Dems bought him a new summer house (on Lake Champlain) so he'd shut up about getting cheated out of the nomination. There's an army of former Bernie supporters who are bitter about this.

Being raised to truly believe in concepts like Caveat Emptor, I put responsibility for defending ones mind on them.

That said, the US is not a democracy. The closest thing to a "Democratic process" we have are the party primaries. And those were trampled by the DNC.

What you refer to is misinformation being put out to sway opinion. Yes, it sucks. But I would remind you that in a world post Smith Mundt you cannot swear that your own government isn't lying to you with propaganda. While I would love to see us mute foreign propaganda, I think a more reasonable (and less aspirational) goal is to first address it within our own government.

Granted.

WHY did Hillary get a pass?
She (not Russians) ACTUALLY rigged an election.

YET...'Crickets' from the Left.

WHY isn't she in prison for it?

I did not know until hearing Congressman DeSantis say 5 minutes ago that the house intelligence committee fought deep state dark hats within the Department of Justice and FBI for five months, in order to get the source documents that went into creating this memo.

Rep. Nunes actually had to send investigators to either the FBI or DOJ (I forget which one) and seize documents under subpoena that the DOJ/FBI were stonewalling.

First time I have ever seen something like that occur before.
