No, the Shed did not close down. Keep writing everyone. Keep spreading smiles and hope and be your amazingly wonderful selves.

Still feeling pretty sick and don't even feel like eating much at all. I'll be in the sick room if anyone needs me.

Good news of sorts.

Jacy will be staying with friends once she is out of the shelter on April 16th. An apartment will be available on May 1st. She is looking into this on Saturday to see if they will let her move in.

That is wonderful news !! Thanks for sharing Blue.

OH NO !!! Now you be a good patient and get lots of rest and fluids. If you can't eat, how about a blueberry smoothy with a banana for potassium. Or any fruit smoothy.
Just rest. Like this.

Oh noes, Star is sick!

I have just the cure.

Gathers smiles from faeries, fire from dragons, flowers from the field, colors from the rainbow, sunshine from a rainy day, and the laughs of butterflies, and mixes them together with the purest spring water.

Mix well and serve, warm, to the sick lady in bed, with a hug.

Also, hello shed! I've been away for a while and I've missed you all.

The Pigeon Network

Vast lengths of time ago, in the dawn of mankind, caves provided safety and some privacy. Some occupied their caves alone, some had a family and even pets. Gathering food was a demanding task and most of the free time was used to eat, rest, or improve the cave. But there were bits of time here and there, allowing to be unproductive and try things just out of pure curiosity. It eventually led to domestication of pigeons that were flying freely around, and an ability to deliver messages to other caves to unite resources or just for fun. Messages were simple symbols carved into a plant leaf or drawn to game skin with campfire coal. The pigeons carried the message, of course early humans didn’t have the knowledge of all the occupied caves within a pigeon flying radius which can be over a hundred miles. Somehow, the pigeons knew.

They kept sending their pigeon messages back and forth and around. For useful purposes like hunting tips or just for pure fun like to spread around things that the early cave people found amusing. They developed an active cave community network, fully connected by pigeons.

One cave-woman had to leave her cave due to a series of unfortunate events. She went to one larger cave with other unfortunate ones to gather her strength and will. Pigeons were not allowed there, it was an unwritten rule of their community. Rest of the cave people quickly began to miss her and started to whisper to higher beings and powers their hopes for her wellbeing and better luck. They tried and they tried to make it work for her. Relentlessly. Until it finally worked. A pigeon had made it’s way to the large cave of the unfortunate ones, then flew to tell great news to a member of the pigeon network that a new cave to live in, might be a possibility for her. The news quickly spread around the pigeon network. Everyone cheered and felt relief and joy.

Those pigeons still fly to this day, delivering their messages, in one form or another.

Stay positive Raine ( I know you seem to be ) we are all with you in your worries. Therefore - less for you to be concerned about.

Leave the worries of the world to others while you regain the strength you need to help so many others ...

I see our resident wasskely wabbit has been throwing some good cheer around .

It’s 5am here, and I’m up early. Thought I would send a shout out to all Sheddites and wish everyone a great day.
Thank you to all the well wishes from yesterday.

Hope you are slowly feeling better , Night. Lots of ideas for drink concoctions were given to Blue when he was ill. I think the hot water with lemon and unpasteurized honey is good... but throw in a little minced garlic and some cayenne. It actually doesn’t taste bad. Sweet and savoury.

A repeat , but a good sunrise song.

Good morning Sheddizens!

Shameless plug for the short story contest (and, maybe, um, my entry!):
Short Story Contest - The RAIN

Lucid has an entry here: Regret
And Fin has one as well: High Point of Rain
And finally, my entry: Rainfall

Edited to Add: Come on, Shed writers! Let's see what you got on this one! Night, Sheye, Blue, Meathead, LightSpeed, WIS, you guys would all do great! And Chirp, what's this "sitting on the sidelines" stuff? Mockingbirds sing in the rain too, don't they?

Welcome to the Shed, Lassie! Have a seat and a beverage, feel free to choose a room. It can be any room you like, the Shed is infinitely bigger on the inside.

Thank you. I find them rather counter cultural. Minimalism is all the buzz, so I thought I'd go in the opposite direction.
I can hear you. What was that? Your Neighbor, oh my he is loud.

Ah, npt too much- the usual storytelling- I've started a story about an Ink dragon, about a boy who defeats the deadly darkness and brings light to his world, and one about an ex assassin trying to get his wife back.

On a bright note, my brother has extended his home to me, so I have been sleeping on his couch instead of my usual porches. Still depressed, but it's easier to ignore with other people around more often.

And you?
