Well, it lays out some facts, most slanted highly in favor of Trump - like saying the meeting in Trump tower was insignificant. He states the information covered, as if he could possibly REALLY know the info covered. No one outside the meeting REALLY knows, and those inside the meeting have made some deals w/ the prosecutor and may have told him. Then we will finally know.

It's certainly possible it's right, and it's certainly possible it's wrong.

Ignored is the fact that Trump has many loans from Russian oligarchs bc no one other than Duetche bank will loan to him - too many bankruptcies - and Duetche has long been known to have problems, fined a number of times over. This is likely the reason that Trump doesn't release his tax returns, they'll indicate the loans he has out of Russia, which would infer as evidence that Russian banks, and therefore Putin, have considerable power over Trump. All it would take is to release the fact that he has those loans and his presidency is destroyed. Even Repub pols won't put up with someone who lied "We have no business in Russia" - and won't put up with someone compromised by Russians.

Do I KNOW he has those loans. No. I'm awaiting the evidence/report. But, I know what is more likely in my mind. The issue goes unaddressed by the assessment.

Furthermore, he ignores the possibility that Manafort, Flynn, or some other person in the campaign said to a Trump aide or Trump, "We will run trolls out of Russia on Facebook, and release DNC emails, and if you win, you be very nice about sanctions, and very nice about policies to us" - that's collusion and a traitor. It also explains what Kush was doing in the Russian embassy trying to establish a channel to Russians that would be kept secret from Americans.

Just b/c Putin has massive influence over Trump in the form of loans, doesn't mean Trump agreed to anything. I know that. But, when I see the Senate vote 99-0 on keeping sanctions on, and Trump saying he doesn't want to do that, though signing it anyway b/c it's flat a done deal, a veto would be overriden and he doesn't want to start his presidency with an overridden veto in his first year! But the fact that he objected to it and said he opposed it, leads one who is simply open to common sense to believe that under no circumstances will Trump oppose Putin. NONE. Why?

Putin kicked half our embassy out of Russia, that surely includes every spy we have. Trump praises him for cutting the pay roll. That's absurd.

Many on the right don't care if Putin controls Trump, don't care one tiny bit. I find that just flat insane, and think that there's a reason they'll support Trump through anything. Common sense says the reason is they don't like being PC, love being anti-Semitic, love the racial tension, love the anti-immigrant stuff too much to care that Putin is in control of our foreign policy.

That's all just common sense from indisputable facts, provided Trump got loans/business out of Russia, and common sense says he did. Those going to gigantic absurd leaps about conspiracy theories involving Dems are going to come up with a theory no matter what. So, it's actually VERY easy to argue against.

But, I will await and accept the investigation, even if it clears him.

The fact that Trump is sending munitions to Ukraine would seem to indicate that Putin does not have as much influence on Trump than the left thinks.

Now the left are believers in 4D chess to explain this. This is part of Putin and Trump's master plan to throw us off!

Or they could just admit they were wrong.

Who am I kidding?

Besides, what has Papadopoulos to do with the Trump team?

Papadopoulos was one of Trump's foreign policy advisors and even mentioned by Trump specifically at one point. He was on Trump's team.

Donald Trump identified Papadopoulos as one of his campaign's foreign policy advisors on March 21, 2016, in an interview with the editorial board of The Washington Post.[10] Trump said: "He’s an energy and oil consultant, excellent guy"

Papadopoulos sent emails concerning Putin to at least seven campaign officials

Between March and September 2016, Papadopoulos made at least six requests for Trump or representatives of his campaign to meet in Russia with Russian politicians. In May, campaign chairman Paul Manafort forwarded one such request to his deputy Rick Gates, saying "We need someone to communicate that [Trump] is not doing these trips.

It looks like Papadopoulos was ridiculously eager to collude with the Russians, but his ideas weren't taken too seriously, at least by Paul Manafort.

Report: Andrew McCabe Left Dossier Questions Unanswered In Congressional Interview

Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe was unable to tell congressional investigators during seven hours of House testimony on Tuesday which parts of the infamous Trump dossier have been corroborated, according to a new report from Fox News.

McCabe, who met with House Intelligence Committee, told investigators that the FBI worked diligently to verify allegations made in the dossier, which was compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele.

According to Fox, McCabe stood by the document’s credibility. But as the network reports:

But when pressed to identify what in the salacious document the bureau had actually corroborated, the sources said, McCabe cited only the fact that Trump campaign adviser Carter Page had traveled to Moscow. Beyond that, investigators said, McCabe could not even say that the bureau had verified the dossier’s allegations about the specific meetings Page supposedly held in Moscow.

The Clinton campaign and the DNC paid the law firm who in turn paid FusionGPS who in turn paid Russians to lie about Trump.

So the only part of the dossier he could cite as having been corroborated is routine travel.

It has not been a good year for the anti-Trumpers.

Pretty much.. The Democrats were thinking they could drag this Russia bs out into the midterms and use it to win seats in Congress. Something tells me this is going to blow up in the Democrats faces causing them to lose even more seats in the midterms.

The only thing this dossier confirmed was the Clinton / DNC conspiracy to engage a crap load of people in a massive criminal conspiracy in order to defraud the public to win an election.

Meanwhile, in Clintons White House.

Had anything in the Dossier been confirmed Democrats would have leaked it right after McCabe said it. That did not happen, unlike the other hearing where Schiff leaked info during the hearing.

Who is this Papadopolous guy anyway?

His earliest mention in the press show someone who doesn't seem to be too memorable or much of a mover/shaker:

Papadopoulos confirmed on Monday that he was an adviser to Trump but declined further comment.

Several people in energy policy circles in London, Washington and New York said they knew nothing of him.

...

Almost all his work appears to have revolved around the role of Greece, Cyprus and an Israeli natural gas discovery in the eastern Mediterranean. Yet Jonathan Stern, director of gas research at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, said when asked about Papadopoulos: “He does ring a very faint bell but he’s not written anything very significant on East Mediterranean natural gas and pipelines that I can remember.”

Indeed Papadopoulos has not left much of a paper trail. He has written an oped piece in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz and three articles for Arutz Sheva, an Israeli news site. He has given an interview on another Web site.

WaPo

And

George Papadopoulous, a 2009 graduate of DePaul University, has described himself in several lengthy published résumés as an oil and gas consultant and expert in eastern Mediterranean energy policy.

But his claim to have served for several years as a fellow at the Washington-based Hudson Institute was refuted by David Tell, Hudson senior fellow and director of public affairs, who said the institute’s “records indicate that Mr. Papadopoulos started here as an unpaid intern in 2011 and subsequently provided some contractual research assistance to one of our senior fellows.”

Papadopoulos also lists attendance as “U.S. Representative at the 2012 Geneva International Model United Nations.” Two people who were part of the delegation that year, including Antony Papadopoulos (no relation), current secretary general of the Geneva program, said they had no recollection of him being there.

WaPo

This page had been 404'd(kinda wonder why that is), but the Wayback Machine had an archive:

George is currently the director of the Center for International Energy and Natural Resources Law & Security at the London Center of International Law Practice. Before his current role, George worked as the senior policy and economy advisor for a U.S. presidential candidate. His policy experience also expands into the think tank sector. From 2011 to 2015, he worked as a research fellow at the Hudson Institute in Washington D.C. His research predominantly focused on the geopolitics and energy security changes of both the Caspian and Eastern Mediterranean and their impact on U.S. strategy. George designed the first ever project in Washington, D.C. think tank history on U.S., Egypt, Greece, Cyprus and Israel relations at a symposium: “Power Shifts in the Eastern Mediterranean: The Emerging Strategic Relationship of Israel, Greece, and Cyprus.” The event was widely covered and has provided U.S. policymakers with an alternative approach to responding to the simultaneous political, security and energy changes in the region.

George has consulted for energy companies operating in the Eastern Mediterranean and Caspian and has written reports on both Israel’s and Cyprus’ upstream natural gas market structure that have been briefed to regulatory authorities. George’s work on the topics has been published and cited in the Washington Times, Jamestown Foundation, Hudson Institute, Jerusalem Post, Natural Gas Europe, Haaretz, Hurriyet, Arutz Sheva and Phileleftheros. He has been awarded by the U.S.
State Department as a finalist to represent the United States at UNESCO in 2011.

He holds degrees from University College London, DePaul University and L’universite Catholique de Louvain.

George Papadopoulos

Papadoplous' role has had to be fluffed up by the media to make him appear more important and highly placed than he was.

Guccifer was talking about having Hillary's emails 3 years prior to Misfurd telling Papadopolous that, "the Russians had “dirt” on Clinton in the form of 'thousands of emails.'"

Guccifer was originally thought to be Russian.

Misfurd is never quoted as having mention the DNC being hacked, only that the Russians had dirt on Hillary.

I hope they drag it on til the midterms. People are already sick of it. Most voters aren't hyperpartisan, they get sick of this kind of crap no matter which side it's coming from and it turns them off. The longer they keep this up, the more they're hurting themselves with moderate Dems and Independents.

Exactly. Same as in the dossier.

On both cases, people use the fact the misfurd and the dossier said they had emails on Hillary before the wikileaks dump as proof they were involved and knew wikileaks was going to dump this info.

But for years people had been discussing Hillary possibly being hacked.

If I was going to make a story to convince people I had dirt on Hillary back then, the first thing I would have said is I have incriminating emails.

Both misfurd and the dossier were just saying what everyone already assumed, that Hillary had emails that were compromised.

Notice they never mention the source, of the dnc or Podesta.
