Defining "person" specifically suggests that the EO is about degrees of separation. If x took money from y and it was then given to z indirectly, Z goes down regardless of nationality if they have assets in the US or in federal reserve notes. The difference, as I read this, is that current laws give due process to those accused, this bypasses this tradition of cluster#$%ing through lawyers and claims that as a private person they are not responsible. Notice there is new crime added, only penalty of losing it all if they can tie to corruption, that word is the key here, not human rights blah blah. Corruption is spelled out, in the "I know it when I see it" way.

The real issue is to understand two very fundamental aspect of the US, Separation of Powers and Public Law Vs. Private Law and how this factors into crimes. My reading of this is it seeks to bypass that problem, and gives the SOT the capacity and power to follow the money and take it without regard to due process. The government has the right, through public law, to take what is theirs and Federal Reserve Notes are theirs, they can take them at any time without reason in the same way you can take the car you loaned to a friend without reason given. Corruption falls under Public law.

Whether this can play out is another story, but as I read this he has given people not plagued with bribes and kickbacks, politics etc. the power to follow the money and take it without regard to previous laws. What is most fascinating, if it plays out, is how X will deal with waking up with no money. Are they going to CNN to do an interview claiming the money they got in bribes has been take by the SOT and they want it back? If they have no money for lawyers (useless anyway) how are they going to get it back? Frankly I'd rather have them all bust, then taking more energy, more tv time, more print ink, more table talk being tried over decades. Civil Asset Forfeiture is a bitch...

While belief in mega anon, or q anon is questionable to say the least. I do find the recent post by mega anon to be interesting and thought provoking on this topic of asset seizure. From your interest stated in the OP, what came to mind for me was the fact we have been trading favors with other countries such as Russia and China, the Saudis with American Soil. Properties and Land even water and mineral right grabs including our very own National parks and other well-known areas perfect for BIG Agriculture in the future. It also occurred to me how we have watched profiteers make out like bandits as the American life and liberties dwindle and the Golden parachutes of the Clinton/Bush eras were the real shock and awe to anyone paying attention. A law cannot remove due process / deny due process for a person in the United states. That has been reinforced by SCOTUS rulings dealing with the NDAA in addition to a myriad of other cases throughout the decades / centuries.

I agree that it's a sign of things to come, given how quietly it was signed and the way that CNN and the MSM made ZERO mention of it as far as I know.

They all were reported. It is not the job of the White House to tell media to cover an executive order.

Secondly the EO's are announced and listed on the White House website.

Third the EO is not major news as all it does is refocus the priorities of this administration over that of the Obama administration. In case you didnt notice or are unaware it happens when new Presidents are elected. Obama did the same thing when he took office, just as Bush did and Clinton did as bush did as Reagan did etc etc etc.

What exactly is your concern?
