This is the part I don't understand.

Politics is a double edged sword and while I recognize that we want to show our support for Israel, you can't tell me that the Senate doesn't realize where this could possibly lead.

So, if anything happens, I better not hear ONE Senator try to blame Trump for this.

Did Trump do or say anything contrary to that provision? There’s some disagreement on that.

The more I think about this part the more #ed up it seems.
The senate tricked trump into revealing that unknown law from 1995, knowing that he is bad with his word play and would say it in some bragging tone. And now they point to him and say look how unstable he is , look at how he doesn't understand the responsibility of speech.
I don't like that. Go after the man because you don't like his policies or maybe even if you honestly feel he is a danger. But do it with integrity . Use your political stances to prove that you know better. Don't play some kids game and trick the dude.

Trump is not the one who decided that the US would recognize jerusalem as the capital of israel. Bill clinton and the 1995 congress did. All trump did today was tell us about something that happened 22 years ago and then immediately signed a waver tabling the move for another 6 months.

I feel like a sucker for even caring about this.
Why the hell would trump go on tv and tell us about something good that bill clinton had done , claim it as his idea and then kick it down the road for another six months??

Pay close attention to the negative public reactions from other leaders and figureheads to his actions. And ask yourself why those specific folks would be so angry.

After all...they're fully aware of when that declaration was originally made, too. So why would they react so strongly to him saying these things if it's old hat and he's already signed the waivers, as the others before him did? What could warrant their concern, if they know the proclamation was made way back then under Clinton?
