Does it matter? The point is to prevent assault, isn't it?
Otherwise, what is the point?

Men are already in mens restrooms.

Making it legal for a man to be in women restrooms is a bad idea, hence the 10 year old girl getting assaulted.

Men are already in mens restrooms.
And so are transwomen already in women's restrooms. Have been for quite a long time, actually.

In a private (and undoubtedly unisex) bathroom? You're as deluded as the OP I guess.

The OP posted that it occurred in the family apartment restroom. It was a sexual predator issue rather than a trans or public bathroom issue.

Not in the OP.

All I'm talking about is sexual predation among transgenders. I don't think that transitioning is actually fixing the problem personally. I think it's better than nothing since it works sometimes, but it's far from perfect.

I think it's bizarre and it kind of grosses me out, but far less than someone feeling so horrible about themselves that suicide becomes their last resort.

Nothing I've ever seen suggests that transgender people are more likely to commit sexual assault, if anything it appears less likely. Kinda like how gay men are less likely to rape boys than "straight" men.

All that being said, I do think that concern about perverts pretending to transition in order to get in the ladies room is a valid concern. The problem is it appears to be incredibly rare, so rare in fact that I think I've only heard of maybe two cases, and I would assume any others would be highly publicized.

My concern is that it's going to make women who have been victimized incredibly uncomfortable. The majority of trans people don't pass (hurr durr because you can't tell is nonsense, even the ones who do don't when they start talking), and for a woman to have her bathroom occupied by a man seems unfair to the TONS of women who have been raped or sexually assaulted. Especially in situations like a locker room, where someone isn't going to be able to hide it all in a stall.

Is there a big problem with trans women assaulting little boys?

I missed that point, other than the insult. What is the point to the unisex bathroom? This is about men (trans or pretend) in a women's restroom.

Unfortunately this is bringing Trans people who have done nothing wrong into the mix because of abuses by pedo's.It's a sad situation.

The 'OP' as in opening poster. He posted a news link halfway down p1 showing the rapist attacked the girl in the family's bathroom.

It doesn't say that in the story.

No it’s not.

It’s about a little girl who was assaulted by a family friend in her own home.

Everything you’ve said is irrelevant.

Not that I know of. Is there a big problem with them assaulting little girls?

The case in the OP was about a residential bathroom, both of mine are unisex. Maybe it's different in your house.

It's a sad situation.
Yes. The OP is a sad attempt at the exploitation of a terrible crime in order to try to make an unrelated point. The assault in the OP has nothing to do with bathroom access.

Re-read the story and didn't see it was a res bath.

A tragedy that is not the fault of the trans bathroom law.

A lot of ATSers see the bathrooms as the problem when it's really a sexual predator problem. It's like banning public parks because of the high rates of rapes and muggings.

The rapists and muggers will still exist whether there are parks or not.

Even better. It's like fighting about Trespassing laws not being in place is what allows murderers to just walk in your house and kill you.

If their gonna risk the murder charge anyway, it's not the trespassing law that's going to stop them.

why was the 10 year old alone in a public bathroom?

If your kids aren't going to the bathroom in the house alone by the age of 10, you're doing it wrong!

I just want to point out that you got misled by the OP. This has nothing to do with legislation. The trans person (who hasn't been convicted we should keep in mind) was a family friend and that the sexual assault allegedly occurred in a bathroom at a private residence.

They don't see bathrooms as the problem, they see trans people as the problem and to a *slightly* less extent, gay people. And since they lost the battle to suppress people from being openly homosexual, culminating in same sex marriage becoming legal, they simply diverted all those feelings (fear, hate, etc) to trans people.

So was the person really transgender....

Do true transgender still have heterosexual tendencies? I'm really asking this question, not to troll.
