A Wyoming man who identifies as a transgender woman is on trial for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in a bathroom.
The trial for Miguel Martinez, who goes by the name Michelle, began on Monday, the Billings Gazette reported. Martinez allegedly invited the young girl into the bathroom with him where he allegedly fondled the girl’s breasts and genitalia, before penetrating her. The girl told police that “it hurt inside” and she started to cry, the Casper Star Tribune reported.

A now-11-year-old girl testified Monday that a friend of her family entered the bathroom of her house in Casper in March and sexually assaulted her, she said in Natrona County District Court.
The girl, who now lives outside Wyoming, gave her halting testimony during the first day of the trial of Miguel Alberto Martinez, who identifies as female and is also known as Michelle. (Featured in the photo above)
Martinez, who was 30 when arrested, faces one count of first-degree sexual abuse of a child and one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a child. If convicted on both counts, Martinez could face between 25 and 70 years of imprisonment.

The state rested its case before noon Wednesday after Blonigen called numerous witnesses to testify including family members, family friends, law enforcement officers, a sexual assault nurse examiner from the Wyoming Medical Center, a forensic interviewer from the Children's Advocacy Project, a forensic biologist with the Wyoming State Laboratory, and the girl herself.

She went upstairs to get a book, went into the bathroom and closed but did not lock the door. She was pulling up her pants when Martinez came in without knocking, she said while being questioned by District Attorney Mike Blonigen.

Yep, it took place in the bathroom the girl's family apartment and the perp was a family friend. So, this has nothing to do with Target, or Trans bathroom rights.

The perp is also a transgender who identifies as a woman, so yes it does have a lot to do with public bathrooms because if this hadn't happened in a private bathroom it could have happened in a public bathroom, just like in other cases it has happened in public bathrooms.
