Are you going to ignore that sometimes journalists get things wrong, and OP corrected the mistake shortly thereafter?

Or are you just here to be pedantic and let everyone know that you "care".

So we're gonna nitpick about where this took place and not that this guy may or may not identify as trans, but used it to either commit this act or gain leniency in court.

Was just a pervert that molested a little girl who just happened to be trans, full stop

There is no indication that the perpetrator used their gender to commit the crime or that it will result in leniency.

Are you going to ignore that the OP misrepresented the situation in order to push a false narrative?

Nice edit. There is no indication that the perp didn't either.

Where's the correction? I do not see it.

"Got things wrong." By ignoring readily available information.

The OP continued the false narrative, that this is proof that "bathroom inclusive laws" cause harm.

The perp was a family friend.

No. Some people are using this as an excuse to bash transgender people and to give legitimacy of banning transgender people from using bathrooms that do not correspond to their biological sexes. That's why it's important to point out that it didn't occur at a public bathroom.

I understand what you're saying, but I didn't need to Trans brochure text.

I know. I've been following the thread.

The OP was fooled, used it to promote a false narrative, and continued to promote that narrative after finding out how she had been fooled.

Went through the thread myself, and it honestly just looks like they have a different opinion about it than you. But I see you and Deaf are here on thread cleanup to stamp down that kind of thing.

So i have to ask..how did legislation of bathrooms help this child? It didnt because they were not in a public restroom.

Yeah. The OP left that part out. For some reason.

The point is women and female children in general are being told that they should feel safe with men who claim to be transgender sharing the women's/girl's restrooms/bathrooms/locker rooms. Did this girl have to get over her fear as well?...

did the legislation have those words in it about feeling safe?

It would have come to light in the trial and been a massive public scandal dominating talkshow-news for at least a week if they had. Given no evidence to that effect was presented at trial, it's sure-shot bet their gender had no role in the offence.

There are no grounds for the collective punishment and having been a journalist for 13 years there's no way in hell the websites weren't aware this happened in a private residence. First rule of news is answer who, what what, how, where and why. When newswires are to be rewritten or preliminary stories are penned the journalist doing the re-write will have all this information infront of them. This was a blatant and deliberate attempt to decieve and incite hate.

Doesnt anyone follow this at all ? Lay aside where. Evil exists.
Anyone else think the situation was made easier by the child feeling more at ease by the perception of the sex of the rapist ?
Would it have been different under other conditions ?
I cant say
Just a question to consider.

Here's something to consider:

90% of child sexual abuse victims know the perpetrator and 68% are abused by family members. In America, 1 in 5 women and nearly 1 in 6 men report experiencing sexual abuse as children.

Has more to do with familiarity.

The story seems legit, covered by many sources.
I'm not going to lean on the "transgender =pedos/pervs" agenda.
Messed up people come from all walks of life.
Plenty of non-trans people take advantage of young people every day.

But are you questioning whether this occurred?
The sources, other than Daily Caller, are plentiful.

To call out one of the two sources O.P. used seems to be taking away from the fact that it did, indeed, occur.
