Mystery 'swamp creature' crawls out of Malaysian family's toilet

A Malaysian couple captured video of a mysterious eel-like "swamp creature" that emerged from their toilet and crawled across the bathroom floor.

''I think the creature grew up inside the pipe works connected to the toilet hole, because I have checked and there is no entry point for it to have got inside," Anip said. ''He was about two meters [6.5 feet] long with a very fat, thick body. I'm not sure if it was a snake or a kind of tidal creature or from the swamp."

Anip said he and his wife captured the creature in a sack and released it into a nearby river.

There is a video - not YT - at the link, where you can see this thing move. Why they released it, I can't imagine! How can they wonder what it is, enough to post about it online, but not enough to have someone identify it??

As for the creature itself, the movement doesn't seem right for a snake, and it seems too flattened, and the head far too small for the body. Could be some weird variety, but the guy states it doesn't look like any local snakes he knows.

Thoughts? Some sort of weird giant worm? A weird snake? What??

Thanks! I look for weird stuff for another site, and this was SO crypto-related, I had to post here, to see what people think. Very strange thing.

I can see not harming it, certainly, but how about taking it in to some animal guy to have it identified? Would that be considered disrespectful as well?
