Sounds like Snopes' standard tactic: Find some minor detail to "debunk," and use that to brand the entire claim as false.

Yes, that's exactly what it sounds like. But it kind of backfired on them, because their article led me to find the original article and post it here -- so ha ha!

It is good to know the games they're playing though. And will continue to play.

I've posted on this before plus a link.

If you count floors above the broken ones you get the 43 floors. There are no label floors in to 40s and 50s. They decided to not use those numbers.

Mandalay Bay is a 43-story luxury resort and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada

en.wikipedia.org...

Mandalay Bay skips the 40s and the 50s, so although the House of Blues Foundation Room purports to be on floor 63, in actuality the property has 43 floors.

No offense taken

The count actually works out but you cannot see the 43 floor in your photo as posted, the 43rd floor is on top of the hotel at the same level as the hotel facade/sign.

If you count up from the broken windows as the 32nd you get to the penthouse suites and you'll notice they have taller floors (stacked windows), the 40th (60th) is the top floor of the main hotel, then the hotel steps in & you have the 41st & 42nd then the hotel facade.

I wish I knew how to shop in the floors into the photo but I don't even know how to upload anything.

Here you can see the 43rd (64th) Floor between the hotel signage (hope this works)

That is assuming the broken windows are on the 32nd floor though.

I got this much. This is the obvious way to look at it.

What surprised me was seeing wikipedia report only 39 floors.

And then finding this pic:

If that pic is correct -- and the 34th floor is where indicated -- then the broken windows appear to be on the 29th floor. And police specifically say they had reports of a gunman on the 29th floor.

Here are the broken windows to compare:

All i am saying is it really isn't clear as far as the floor numbers go...conflicting information from start to finish....even predating the shooting.

Maybe the website is wrong as others state 43.

The windows are there for the world to view. You think no one would say "Hey it's 29 not 32" inspecting the building.

I am not sure or others will find the following timeline useful, but I thought I would put it out here. It is based off two videos (links below). Some mathematicians out there may find it interesting as well.

Perimeter video gunfire timeline

3:12                    1st shot with no impact echo
3:16-3:20      2 single shots with impact echoes
3:25.                  Jason Aldean song ends
3:35.                  Last song begins - crowd is already starting towards exit
3:40-3:45.   Cameraman asks, "What's going on?" as crowd surges to exit
3:50-4:01       1st barrage of gunfire
4:38-4:47.    2nd barrage
5:05-5:14.        3rd barrage
5:34-5:44.     4th barrage
6:28-7:33?       Inaudible, possible single shots and short barrage
8:44-8:54.      5th audible barrage
9:54-10:01         6th barrage

At this point, Bus Stop Video and this one merge timelines
10:22-10:31.        7th Barrage
11:15-11:24.            8th Barrage
12:35-12:44.     9th barrage
13:01-13:06.        Short 10th barrage unable to hear single shots afterwards on perimeter vid

Bus stop video Only
38 seconds after last short barrage
3:25.    Single shot
3:35.   Final single shot.

Sorry, I can't post a waybackmachine link without it going screwy...you can look this up though:

...so, Wikipedia used to say the Mandalay Bay hotel was only 39 stories. When they built THEhotel (later renamed the Delano) -- part of the MB complex -- THAT building was 43/44 stories. Prior to that...the Mandalay Bay hotel structure was reported to have 39 floors total.

If you dig up the wikipedia archives on wayback, you will get a better sense probably of what I am talking about.

The mainstream media is now demanding answers as to how it took so long for the SWAT team to respond, after the security guard was shot.

Using this pic as a guide...it looks like the 34th floor is exactly where indicated counting from the bottom up:

I've tried counting several times. It seems correct as far as I can tell.

The broken windows seem to be on the 29th floor.

Maybe no one has bothered to count them or maybe they did and that is exactly why police got reports of a gunman on the 29th floor???

BTW, I did not label/mark up this photo:

I found it on the web, like that, here:

i just realized people may think I labeled the floors that way. I didn't.

Another view (without the sublevels visible):

I count 34 floors to where it's indicated in the other pic I posted -- placing the broken windows on the 29th floor.

I just think it's not simple to say what floor the broken windows are on.

One thing I just wondered about the bus stop video, after the first single pop at 3:25 the girl in the video says "and now glass is falling from the Mandelay Bay, then at 3:35 is the second pop.

Could these two pops be the glass being blown open (i.e. and the gun fire came from somewhere else) or could these be the two breach charges swat set off? I'm wondering how loud a .38 caliber revolver would be if it was used at point blank range inside a high rise hotel, even with the windows open...

Could also be the breach charges made more glass fall from those windows or those are the two final shots from the .38

Just a thought given her comment about glass falling...

Unfortunately, no.
I've done image searches but found nothing.
Surprisingly, an earlier search showed no Twitter mention of Campos on her page.

Mandalay Bay is listed at 44 stories, actually is 43 because is no 13th floor (its unlucky!)

en.wikipedia.org...

Don't know where get that picture, but is not of Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas - did you notice reads 60 not 30 ......

if ever been to tall building will find elevators run in banks, ie 1-21, 22-40. etc

Police in trying to locate shooter attempted to count down from roof to windows where thought shooter was

Trying this at night with all the confusion, reflections of light off the windows makes this a very crude and inaccurate
tactic

Only after hearing from hotel guests on 31 floor reporting shooting from floor above did have a clear idea where shooter was
