It isn't even 9am yet there!?

Super fishy. I've been staying off Twitter because of this.

Started late at night, 11pm-midnight..

Not that I have ever seen. I would imagine the venue might have bag checks / security checkpoints.

Aside from that its one of those laws where only law abiding citizens will follow it.

Twitter shows your own time zone, not that of the person that posted the tweet.

Police are trying to confirm 4th floor shooter at Mandalay Bay Casino/hotel.

-Per police radio-

They believe there is another suspect, but don't believe it is an active shooter.

You are prohibited unless your law enforcement, gaming commission or security staff.

so how would they go about preventing it? are there measures in place to prevent anyone from just carrying a firearm in that wants to hide one?

They can't unless they put detectors everywhere, I and many others cc in casinos and elsewhere, for reasons such as this.

Never been to Vegas but at the casinos in Detroit, you walk through metal detectors.
Gotta be the same or more in Vegas.

I am at the airport in Vegas right now. We were on lockdown for a few hours. its been lifted now.
I heard Isis was in on the shooting but please do not quote me. I have no idea at this point.

My flight leaves at 2:00am.
I will post anything else I hear.

My prayers go out to the injured.

Good night ATS!

-Jagoff

ISIS? Wow I know the suspect in the Edmonton terror attack yesterday had an ISIS flag in his car window

I doubt you will see metal detectors going in at casinos in las vegas. It would destroy the image they have been building, trying to make it a family friendly place.

I speak for myself but i would rather live in a world of uncertainty than one of the 3rd Reich.

Really One shooter? sounded like 2 guns.

For every shot depending where you are situated you hear two sounds. One is the actual firing of the gun. the other sound is when the bullet breaks the speed of sound...sonic boom or in the case of a bullet more of a loud crack. This is what the recording could be picking up. Unless the shooter has two weapons set up, on bi-pods say.

I suppose you could bring in without being asked to open it up by putting it in a guitar case like Antonio bandaras did in Desperado.
