I appreciate the pixie/star dust, but can't you convince someone to carry your bags?
Don't let people get away with taking advantage of you.
I bet you listen to every single complaint people have and give them a wise answer? That is worth something.

How is everyone doing today?

Hi!

Short answer: I am doing good. Or at least better than normal. Everything is calm and i see my mom later today downtown, we go somewhere for coffee.

Longer one: This has to do with the picture you posted. Fine picture by the way. I have been contemplating about potential a lot lately. I know i have it, a fair amount. But, in essence, what is unfilled potential? Is it nothing? Is it the same as no potential at all? Or is unfilled potential worse than no potential at all, due to the frustration caused by real-life me and ideal me being too far apart?

I am trying to do just one simple task at a time, but do it the right way. Yes, life in this universe is chaotic but via choices made, the direction of the evolving of chaos can be directed at least a bit. I think the bottom line is that it is better to crawl and drag oneself towards the right direction, than to run with the taste of blood in the mouth, straight towards the gates of hell.

That is pretty much it, about me. Having a second mug of coffee now and waiting to hear from others here at the Shed!

You sound like a work-a-holic. I hope you get some free time soon.

My big news (well, news) is today is the day I came to the Netherlands 25 years ago. The beer's on me.

*Takes the beer, nods in approval and says thanks. Sits at the table destroying the whole pint in 3 quick gulps. Burps. Nearby pixies pass out for a while.*

Quite impressive for someone who I am guessing has just woken up.

/me opens door to ventilate noxious gasses and revive passed-out pixies...

ETA I forgot the cake!

Yeah, waking up, coffee is starting to kick in.

Some slower Stratovarius now. Not banging metal this time, not in the mood. Mood is mellow and i think i had some really needed deep sleep last night.

To be honest and in my humble opinion, no matter what your plans for the day even alcohol can't beat a good mug or two of steaming Joe to start the day.

Before I moved to the Netherlands I'd never drunk a proper real coffee, only the instant stuff. (Awful stuff, in hindsight) It hit me hard in the stomach at first, to put it mildly.

I tried instant coffee once again a coupla years ago because there was no real coffee left. It tasted like badly flavoured watery water. 1 sip was enough.

Terpenes, flavinoids, anti-oxidants, stimulants, so many things....all industrially removed to make it convenient and unnecessarily expensive and awful.

Did I mention I like real coffee...?

I forgot ...

Shadow, Wolf Lord has a cousin. It is a bit embarrassing. You know, every family has one.

This was taken during her 3rd year studies in invisibility studies 301.

Cute but yeah ...........

Don't mention it to Shadow.

Lemme plump your pillow first then. It's past 6 am here and I made a great start on Monday. When I wake up it will be at least half gone. Grumpy Cat would be proud I reckon.

You sound like a work-a-holic. I hope you get some free time soon.

I know and I am not proud of it...
Most people work because it fulfills them, I work because it is a necessary evil to fill my cupboards.

A co-worker had a planned vacation and we are down one person so it left two of us doing a four person job. Plus we had a gigantic event, bla bla bla. I had that terrible "thing" to do bla bla bla.
But now I have two days off, chicken soup is on the menu, and a Steven King audiobook will help me clean and a glass of wine or two, relax.

My big news (well, news) is today is the day I came to the Netherlands 25 years ago. The beer's on me.
Congrats with the silver celebration. Thanks for the drink cheers to you and that lovely cake, Mmmmm all gone.

Haha i guess you did! And so do i!

I think i haven't ever even tried instant coffee. Heard too much negative about it.

I had a couple of hours nap and now, real coffee!
and empowering music!

Editing: Oh and i met my mom in the morning! We had coffee and a good talk. Well i had coca cola actually due to just before the meeting i had drank my morning coffee. I asked what's up about christmas, is someone coming over. She replied "no one yet, but the food will be prepared for christmas eve" so i told her i will come. Many, many years in a row i have spent my christmas time with a friend / friends. Because i am allergic to mingle with a group of relatives for extended period of time at once and being the best Fin i can. I am not a christmas person, neither is my mom, but she was seemingly happy about me coming this year. I feel good.

Here again! Missed ya all!

I hope everyone is doing fine. Especially i hope that Night star's back pain is gone by now.

Third day without any alcohol. I just haven't felt like drinking and actually i can't even afford it now. But i have my food and coffee and cigarettes! Brains feel better. I think there is good stuff there again, dopamine, endorphin, serotonine and the like. The feel-good hormones and neurotransmitters that are produced naturally by the brain. Drinking one day is ok, two days is sometimes fine, but after that, the feel-good stuff from the brain has been all used for getting kicks out of alcohol, and to continue drinking then is, first and foremost unhealthy, and expensive and pretty much pointless self caused misery from that point on.

He flies through the rainbow
Into a new world and finds the sun
Spreading his wings Above all the sorrows
The glory of Eagleheart "

Now again, coming from a drinker and smoker, talking about health and a healthy lifestyle might seem absurd. But i am interested in maintaining a bearable physical health and help my mind in the process.

Recent studies have linked depression to inflammation, and ginger reduces inflammation overall. I have for long known ginger is good for health, but now i am actually interested in it enough to buy some in the future and take it into regular use.

Health benefits of ginger
