You're referring to one of the few Obama promises that are true, regarding ObamaCare. 75% (7.5 out of every 10) of the people on ObamaCare pay less than $100 a month, per person. Taxpayers foot most of their premium bill every month.

The people who make decent incomes do not get taxpayer help paying the premium, so they can't afford ObamaCare insurance. They find other types of coverage, or go uninsured.

It's like the issues with socialism.

They get it, then complain that it's not "real socialism".

They have their government-run healthcare, but it's not "real" government-run healthcare.

hahahahahahaha

Bernie Sanders wants the "evil" insurance companies removed from the equation. All Democrats USED to feel that way, but now, most Democrats want health insurers bailed-out/shored-up. Go figure...

Health Insurance != Healthcare.

Please elaborate, Teikiatsu. You're being cryptic.

BFFT's simple solution to our healthcare problems:

1. A wall is to be built between healthcare and government. Government can fund it via programs like medicare, but otherwise has no role in the healthcare of private citizens, and shall henceforth abstain from any direct participation in any level of healthcare administration
2. See step 1

Even if you are a doctor holding legislative office...from what i have heard from doctors who hold such office, they are idiots not fit to be doctors. We KNOW our legislators votes are bought by lobby's, and healthcare has one of the largest lobbies in Washington. I have zero confidence in any legislators ability to discern anything related to medical care, be it billing or actual care.

The real kicker is that we have allowed the conversation to be about how to salvage ACA, vs how to provide for healthcare in our country in an effective and cost efficient manner. If that isn't the conversation...what the hell is anyone actually talking about?!?

To date, the problem with hastening the repeal of Obamacare, which I personally have no great love for, is there has yet to be devised a better healthcare plan. It's really just that simple.

There is a better plan, and the United States is one of the few "advanced nations" that refuses to adopt it.

If they do get it passed premiums will drop like crazy..

EVERY other modern country on the planet has single payer and pays 1/3 of what we do for the same services..

Things don't get more expensive when you remove profit.. obviously.

Are you forgetting healthcare costs have continually sky rocketed since the second we started using i insurance companies?!?!

Then when obamacare quadruple s down on insurance companies by ensuring they are in the mix, it raises even faster

"Just get the government out of the way and watch insurance companies voluntarily choose to charge less and make less money, while increasing services!"

Is laughable..

People always forget there was already a problem getting exponentially worse long before obama..

Id rather get out of the fire and return to the frying pan. My monthly insurance bill has gone from 278 a month to 656 a month in the last 7 years. That is 100% government at work.

If the section(s) of the law that prohibit health insurance companies from customizing their plans to match the needs of the consumer were removed, millions of middle/upper-middle class people and families, would be very happy. The percentage of uninsured Americans would decrease as well.

How did it change the previous 7 years?

$500 to 600 per month is what we were paying in the 90's for non employer health insurance.

I agree with DB , they are trying to look like they want to end the ACA.. not actually end it..

However where he is wrong is why....

He thinks it's because of some hillary led illuminati type conspiracy to make all the frogs gay, or inter dimensional child rapist set up pedo rings in pizza shops.

And I think it's because they know they would be yanking subsidies and prices still wouldn't budge.. creating an immediate, tangible reason to not vote for republicans..

They have ONLY been OPPOSITION demagogues since ATLEAST obama got elected..

Because they already had the votes for it ready to go and would likely lose the couple Rino dems who were barely on board.

I don't doubt they knew it would fail and lead to single payer..

HEALTHCARE CANNOT BE PROFITABLE AND TAKE CARE OF MOST OF US.

Your lifetime premiums will NEVER cover your end of life expenses if your not killed instantly in an accident.

ALL for profit insurance is a scam. We should set up public funds for all auto, life , disasters and health insurances.

Keep every functional piece. All the drs , nurses and paper pushers. Just cycle the share holders and company profits back into services.

Yeah, premiums will drop, and Medicare taxes will increase.

So lose/lose.

My son's coverage was "discontinued" in Dec 2016, before Trump. Now my daughter received notice that hers is being discontinued too starting in Feb 2018. Keep in mind that we're still under the wreck obamacare. Both minors and they are(were) with Humana/Aetna respectively.

Enough is enough with this garbage law, remove it. Remove the state to state restrictions and let competition sort it out.

Actually, there's no need to "pass" anything at all. ObamaCare is collapsing on its own, and the Trump administration is hastening the process.
