Only got a partial eclipse here no pictures but the boss brought out a welding mask we had lying around the shop so we could go look. It was pretty cool to see got pretty dim. We had a lot of smoke from nearby forest fires the last couple weeks. It reminded me of the way the lights been from that but a different tint to the light.

In Portugal it was a partial eclipse and too late, I could only get this photo before the Sun disappeared behind other buildings.

PS: I used the oldest method to make a filter, a piece of glass covered with soot from a candle.

Taken on my old but still functioning samsung S4. I don't know why, but the eclipse is inverted.

I tried all kinds of settings, these were the best, albeit odd...

oh, we had 91% here, it was beautiful !

Well I lucked out with the clouds after punking me, I got some good shots. These are just a few of the huge amount I took:

Through some clouds:

Nearing totality:

And....ooops.....looks like they were just slightly off the prediction path as this was the max that covered:

Still got really dark here:

Cameras don't do it justice. It was like deep twilight....but the light was in the wrong place. Was dark and weird at the same time!

Oh, and we got the double shadow thing too:

How did you upload those to ATS?
I can't downsize to get it to load(tried to load one at a time). Took over 200 pics.

Great pics by the way

Can't upload any pics over 2 mb in size. If the pics file size is bigger than that, you'll have to use a paint shop program to scale it down some.

I only experienced about 78% partial eclipse, the 3rd image is combined showing the path. Also happy to see sunspots. ; ) Taking with a Nikon L120

This is of the shadows from my tree whereupon the leaves turned into overlapping crescents

This is what I used.....I didn't have a solar filter though. But, I did have one of those mylar blankets that come with a first aid kit. I experimented with it back in spring and found that 3 layers of it acts just like a solar filter:

Geez the innovation you guys are coming up with to get pics of this is bloody genius.

Mylar... soot covered glass... never in a million years would I have thought of those things in replacement of a store-bought solar filter.

Two thumbs up !
