I'm expecting more of these types of Grand jury hearings to take place, especially after the Special Council interviews people. Make an interview, gather statements, then having them testify in front of a Grand jury to put their statements on the record. It just makes good sense. As long as the statements are the same or similar enough during each interview, then there shouldn't be any surprises during a Grand Jury testimony.

My apologies if I misunderstood your previous post in relation to the simplicity of such a thing.

That could just be because people aren't looking to be ridiculed for doing business with Trump.

Sure and lets wager that all we will get are leaks of information that appears damaging while info that helps is kept secret.

Yup, it is so. Even more so since it was confirmed Trump was not the target of the investigation per Comey and the intelligence committee.

That was then. Now that Trump fired Comey it is a whole new game. Trump firing Comey is why Muelller was appointed, don't you recall?

Trump admitted that he fired Comey over the Russian investigation. He has made his own fate, and is his own worst enemy.

Hmmm...no actually he didn't say it was over the Russia investigation....would love to see that direct quote....LOL!

Would you? I should make you find it yourself.but...

The warm-up:

Source

President Trump told Russian officials in the Oval Office this month that firing the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, had relieved “great pressure” on him, according to a document summarizing the meeting. “I just fired the head of the F.B.I. He was crazy, a real nut job,” Mr. Trump said, according to the document, which was read to The New York Times by an American official. “I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off.”

The Pitch...
Source

President Donald Trump, who has contradicted top aides about his firing of FBI Director James Comey, on Friday fired off a tweet at odds with his own statements about the decision that triggered a special counsel probe. Trump, alluding to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, wrote that he is being “investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!” He then, as he does almost daily, referred to the Justice Department’s Russia election meddling probe as a “Witch Hunt.” Yet, the president’s tweet contradicts his own comments about how and when he decided to fire Comey and appears to acknowledge that he is being investigated over terminating the FBI director.

and striiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike......
Source

In interview with NBC's Lester Holt, Trump said he planned on firing Comey regardless of what Rosenstein recommended. And he suggested the Russia investigation was a reason behind the dismissal. "When I decided to [fire Comey], I said to myself, I said you know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made up story."

You must remember this...or didn't they show it on FOX?

From now on do your own reseach, and I am still waiting for your "Facts"

Oh...yeah...ive read all the stories and the "strike" you mention was the video you posted earlier.....like I said before, have you watched it?

Even in the quote you posted as a "pitch" it says

Trump, alluding to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, wrote that he is being “investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!”

So....everyone calls for Comey to be fired, but when it happens it's because....RUSSIA!

LOL....seriously....this $hit is funny....

For one thing, Congress could reinstate the independent council law, and Mueller would be back in business the next day, but his time completely free of the Justice Department. I suspect someone mentioned this to Trump, and he backed off.

That statute was allowed to lapse over constitutional issues. Congress was usurping the authority of the Executive branch with that statute. Only the AG can appoint special prosecutors.

Constitutional Issues? Only the SCOTUS can resolve them. The statute lasped. It can be brought back in one session, if Trump fires Mueller. I belileve that might have been pointed out to Trump, by either his advisors, the congress, or both...

Wow...got any evidence to backup the Cause Russia stuff? Flynn has been gone since the beginning...outside of that it is all "official sources"....LOL

Flynn has his own grand jury. He begged to testify for immunity, most likely because he knows he is guilt of collusion and maybe outright treason.

Flynn should be the first one indicted, the first one in jail. Unless he flips on Trump for a plea-deal. THAT will be interesting.

Interesting....so a new grand jury is needed for a investigation that is supposed to include Flynn?

I'd love to hear his testimony....nobody is blocking it that I know of.

Go find it yourself. You only get one freebie from me.

Oh, and where are those facts of your again/ Deflecting on a deflections?

I don't need freebies from you.....entitled much?

Been here a while and have some of the most heavily researched threads on ATS. Feel free to go pick one apart.

Congress has sent clear signals that would be a turning point.

It would be insanely hard on Congress to sit by during the public outcry without impeaching.

Not to mention he would have to get Sessions and/or Rod Rosenstein to do it and fire either or both if they did not comply.

Firing Mueller is Trump's last resort..and after all he has the option to hand out pardons to himself and anyone else.

No wager (I don't like to lose), but I'm willing to take odds in Vegas that you're correct about that. I'll even one up you with announcing right here today that it will get leaked via "Un-Named Sources"

I don't think most people realize exactly how ethically bankrupt and shady he really is.

Didn't you do a thread on this a few months back? I recall reading a bunch of sources on that guy. He is a real slime ball.

Yes constitutional issues. And the moment congress resurrects the law it can be challenged before it gets off the ground. Congress is not in charge of the Department of Justice - The President is. Congress is delegated oversight responsibility and not prosecutor responsibility.

It would be like a city council appointing their own prosecutor because the current prosecutor wont take a certain action.

Prosecutors are the final point for determining if a person is prosecuted - not congress.

Not everyone called for Comey to be fired?

Specifically...Trump himself repeatedly praised him...until he wouldn't drop the Russian investigation...then he fired him.

Not complicated. Trump has explained his motivations.

Democrats wanted his head on a pike during the election and afterwards, Democrats only changed their mind when the russia bs was pushed.

when Comey testified to Congress he illegally leaked a memo to force a special prosecutor it should have ended right then and there.

Don't research it...just believe....LOL

OR better yet, just say it is a fact, and when someone calls you on it, never respond.

Even when they keep asking you for your "facts"

Just never respond.

Mueller is not an Independent Counsel.

Big big difference.

He is just a Special Counsel.

That's irrelevant because I believe they are still the same thing. Point remains that the president could be indicted by a federal grand jury for serious crimes.

on whos word?
constitution>ken starr
if mueller tries it will end this
it will go to the SCOTUS

Hmmm...or maybe it was when he realized Comey, FBI Director, was leaking and was covering for Lynch and lying to the American people? Nah....couldnt be why, could it?
