People have conveniently forgotten the atmosphere he was in. If Bernie is a hypocrite, so are the republicans. Now they want to be friends and peacemakers.

From the blog:
The Vermont senator, who caucuses with Democrats, cited past Arizona incidents such as vandalism at Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ district office after the health care reform vote and Sarah Palin’s “crosshairs” map, as well as other outbreaks of violence like when a bullet was shot into Rep. Raul Grijalva’s office.

So I am to believe that the atmosphere of Palins cross-hair map was worse than the atmosphere today?

Please. You can spin it all you want, the fact is that Bernie is a hypocrite based on his words alone.

Bernie can just suck it.

Are we actually going to start believing the politicians now?

Comrade Sanders should just shut his pie hole and own it.

Yep, he is busted on that and there is no defence for him. Going back and looking at the media reaction is quite the eye opener. It was not just Sanders.

You should make it a thread.

The hypocrisy is unbelievable.

Here is a thread I did on how when Bernie supporters were violent in Trump rallies, the DNC and media blamed Trump and cheered them on. But as soon as they showed up and protested the DNC and other town halls, the started to complain about the bernie supporters.

Probably the most hypocritical is from Keith Obermann in the wake of the shooting, when the subject of political rhetoric was rife:

Keith Olbermann apologized for any of his own words that might have incited violence saying, "Violence, or the threat of violence, has no place in our Democracy, and I apologize for and repudiate any act or any thing in my past that may have even inadvertently encouraged violence."

He obviously was not sorry enough.

So the leftists have pulled a trigger and are just "sorry" if the bullet hit anyone.

They should be free to copulate with themselves.

So after some research, I quickly realized the step daughter that he had who killed herself was a girl I had briefly dated in between my junior and senior year of high school. Her name was Wanda, but she hated that so everyone called her Ashley. She was a freakishly gorgeous red head who had a really rough life. She had been in several foster homes and by the time I was a senior she had started dating another guy. Whole point of the story is, that in this particular case this guy had very llittle to do with why she took her life. See, that other guy she was dating, knocked her up, and promptly dumped her. We suppose the hurt she felt in her life was too much for her considering she was bringing a child into the world in much the same way she was. She was in class and the teacher was talking about death and various ways people were killed in history. She asked him what he thought the most painful way to go would be, he replied that he thought it would be burning to death. 3 days later they found her car burned out by the YMCA summer camp. This just brought up a bunch of sad memories.

That's what I thought. Also they seem to forget that Bernie has been very vocal against the groups trying to shut down right wing hate groups and spokespersons on college campuses.

I see you just glossed over the fact that Bernie is a hypocrite who blames the right wing for inciting violence with their rhetoric, but doesn't do the same when it's left wing violence and rhetoric. Not surprised.

I've heard many say that it's not the government's job to inspire goodness-- I heard this as a defense against all the uninspiring ideas they have been pushing-- the deportations that would destroy families, the loss of healthcare that would affect millions of people, the overall support of a man who demeans his own country and his own people when they disagree with him. A man so consumed in narcissism and conflict that he has created a wave of resistence against him by people who find it impossible to respect such observably awful behavior.

Inspire goodness. Inspire kindness. Not just in the quiet corner of your lives, but also in the policies you support. Practice empathy - let that empathy show in the positions you support. Trump's admin needs to do the things necessary to win over the hearts of good people.

Don't be blind to the cause and effect of a hostile admin.

I challenge anyone to explain to me why the situation with Gifford and the situation with scalise legitimizes Bernie blaming the rhetoric of a political party on one and not doing so in the other.

So far we got vandalism and Plains crosshair thing put Bernie is such a difficult situation that he had to be a hypocrite. Sorry, thats not gonna cut it.

Yes we got your stance. Republicans being shot are Trumps fault.

Only Trump has had divided rhetoric. Obama didn't mock people for clinging to guns and bibles. Hillary didn't call people deplorable.

Positions such as wanting to end the sham Obamacare that by the way is collapsing on its own, and wanting to enforce our borders makes someone evil. We understand your position.

It makes one wonder how many of those blaming Trump were so quick to blame Obama for killings and shootings that took place under that administration.

Of course, one can also ask the question as to how many of those defending Trump now blamed Obama before.

I'd wager it's a pretty small handful of folks that have been even-handed about it.

Jut woke up. Olberman the first media doosh Ive heard of of to acknowledge any sort of role in any of this stuff all along, so if he did id say that was big of him.

Yeah you're probably right. Better for the president to just continue tweeting insults at 3am, demeaning all people who disagree with him, and no reason not to build walls between us and our neighbors, destroy families by deporting, ending healthcare for people who need it-- prolly best overall to continue on that path and expect only the best reaction from the people.

It really is very telling regarding Bernie's character, when one considers how he just rolled over and let Hillary have her way with him during and after the rigged Dem primaries.

I no longer expect anything from him of any genuine substance or conviction.

Bernie put unity above himself. Something Trump could learn from. Trump rather rip the country apart for his own gain.

He may have had a noble agenda burried under it all.

He just lacked faith and resolve to fight this battle for the rest of his life.

Bernies family may have asked him to chill. Trumps and Hillarys family are fighters.

The natural order of things demanded someone stronger.

Unity?
Bernie put subservience over justice.

You DO get that Hillary and her DNC rigged the primaries against him,...right?

Bernie did that after he got whatever promises from Clinton he got. Since you seem to have forgotten, I'll remind you that before he kissed Clinton's ass, he told her it was her job to convince his supporters to vote for her after he dropped out. He didn't "put unity above himself" till he'd gotten private meetings with both Clinton and Obama.
