No, because we don't know the nature of the close doors meetings and talks that Trump had with his former employee Comey

If it was a message send or a warning, taunting whatever in Trumps tweet it was for Comey to take the message, all we can do is to speculate, make conspiracies and do divinations

In other words we don't know anything and neither the source medias that will feed on this one.

No. Trump is insinuating he taped Comey and Comey better not lie about what they talked about.
Like James Comey would lie. This is what psychologists call PROJECTION.

President Donald Trump issued a thinly veiled threat Friday to fired FBI Director James Comey.

"James Comey better hope that there are no 'tapes' of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press," the President tweeted.
The tweet marks an extraordinary development in the ongoing feud between Trump and the agencies investigating alleged ties between his campaign and Russia.

Trump threatens Comey in new tweet

I wonder what rump is talking about? What conversations??

What is he talking about or is this another Trump attention grab to divert away from Russia?

What are your thoughts?

Trump continues to talk out of his ass, obviously then it's a load of shiite, which in turn puts him in even more shiite.

Another example is what he said in the TV interview, one minute he wants the FBI to get to the bottom of the Russian thing, ten minutes later he then says it's all rubbish!

Okay Comey has now gone, but Trump hasn't put the wind up the FBI, since they did the raid on the Strategic Campaign Group who not only has ties to Stone, Black, Manafort and more, obvious Russian ties there, but maybe money laundering ties...perhaps a distinct Russian source there too, as Russian oligarchs have money spread all over the globe....the two headed gorgon perhaps?

So Trump says he wants the investigation to be done fully and correctly, they he says the Russian hacking charge is garbage.
I don't see the problem with all that. I agree that it's garbage and a waste of time, unless there is some huge smoking gun. The initial charges stemmed from the Clinton camp after the sexual misconduct attempt failed. So it sure looks like garbage, but the only way to end it and end it COMPLETELY is to let the investigation take it's course.

That's what smart folks call "insurance".

Oh and so there's no problem with a sitting president secretly taping the head of the FBI?

Like James Comey would lie.

really

like the "hundreds and thousands" of emails described to congress last week?
www.dailykos.com...

James Comey lied under oath, will congress do something?

This is, of course, being characterized as an exaggeration, but saying under oath that “hundreds and thousands’ emails were involved when in reality there might have been dozens is like a cop exaggerating a cell phone into a gun and using it as an excuse to shoot a black kid.

Unless you are speaking for comey you are full of crap.

Now you know trumps mind as well, as you know his intent?

bs
your partisan opinion
no more no less

You act as though I have no right to decipher words on a public Twitter feed! You act as though words like "threat" and "intimidation" can't be used unless you have permission from the victim. That's not reality and the jury of public opinion is as valid and as consequential as any court appointed jury. Ask OJ!

Trump's tweet was seen as a threat by a great number of Twitter readers. That's a fact. Since Comey has been asked to testify before the committee, Trump's Tweets can also be seen, by a court appointed jury or the jury of public opinion, as to constitute Witness Intimidation. These are impeachable offenses, and nothing to take lightly, especially given the context of these menacing Tweets.

So I agree if he has tapes he should release them.
I think he's trying to intimidate Comey. He believes Comey will lie. He thinks everybody behaves like he does.

"James Comey better hope that there are no 'tapes' of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press," the President tweeted.

What is he, a 16 year old girl? That's an intimidation tactic straight from the Teenage Mean Girls book, meant to dissuade someone from speaking truthfully lest the pubescent foe's wrath comes down on them off school grounds. Everyone remembers high school & the scheming sniveling witches everyone tiptoed around, every school had/has a clique of 'em. Trump embodies those brats (does this mean he can grab his own poon?)

Keeping that in mind, whatcha hiding in that backpack, little girl? Speaking awful tough for someone who claims they have a clean nose, what are you hiding?

When it starts "He better hope", then we know it's a warning. We can speculation on just what Trump was warning Comey about. Does he have tapes of Comey and Russian prostitutes peeing? Maybe. Or, maybe he has tapes of Comey's daughter or son...........

You see how these mobeque veiled threats work? Either way, there is no doubt that Trump's Tweet was threatening Comey's supposed and perceived resolve.

He keeps on tweeting himself into a chat with lawenforcment.
He better have proof of what he's stating or he probably will be in some legal trouble for saying it......

So why doesn't he release the "tapes" and let the American people hear what was said?

There is no threat in the tweet.

Yes there is, a very veiled, mobster style threat. And, there's an accusation that he's illegally leaking falsehoods to the press.

"James Comey better hope that there are no 'tapes' of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press,"

Could you zero in on the specific words that constitute a threat pleae?

"Better hope" are the operative words in Trump's veiled threat.

That does not constitute a threat.

Yes it does.

No it doesn't.
Legal definition

From your link:

A threat has been defined to be any menace of such a nature and extent as to unsettle the mind of the person on whom it operates, and to take away from his acts that free, voluntary action which alone constitutes consent.

That's exactly what Trump's unsettling and menacing tweet represents. It's a clear case of "Witness Intimidation"

You began by referring to it as a veiled threat.
Is it a threat or a 'veiled threat'?Take it to court, let them decide.

You act as though I have no right to decipher words on a public Twitter feed!

you have every right to your OPINION
your OPINION is not FACT

You act as though words like "threat" and "intimidation" can't be used unless you have permission from the victim.

No I asked you if you spoke for the so called "victim" in this tweeting horror, as you seem to think he has been threatened

That's not reality and the jury of public opinion is as valid and as consequential as any court appointed jury. Ask OJ!

wow
you been hitting grandpas cough medication this morning?

Trump's tweet was seen as a threat by a great number of Twitter readers.

really
you have a poll on that or are you an expert at reading twitter readers minds too?

only in the most partisan of minds will a tweet constitute impeachment
high crimes and misdemeanors(or tweets we dont like)

wow

He's still a witness. He still knows what he knows.
He wont say anything that could jeopardise the investigation. The investigation he was still part of until Tuesday.
He is not an idiot.

When I said that to my kids there sure was a threat in there. You'd better hope I don't find out you cut class. You'd better hope I don't find out you went to that party I said you couldn't go to.
