Trump threatens Comey in new tweet

President Donald Trump issued a thinly veiled threat Friday to fired FBI Director James Comey.

"James Comey better hope that there are no 'tapes' of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press," the President tweeted.
The tweet marks an extraordinary development in the ongoing feud between Trump and the agencies investigating alleged ties between his campaign and Russia.

I don't see the threat.
As it is, the tweet is cryptic.
Tell me if he means that Comey better not have been recording... or that Comey should be careful what he says... if Trump was recording?

why cant everything just be released in one foul hit so the chips can fall and society can move forward onto better days?

Why would he need to threaten someone if there were nothing to hide?

Seriously??? You don't think the phrase '...better hope there's no tapes of our conversations...' isn't a veiled threat? Seriously?? You don't hear the 'or else' implied? Why, then, would Comey give a rat's ass if there were tapes UNLESS he (Comey) was at-risk for some reason. Willfully blind, dude.

Comey is either threatening or has threatened to leak info. Trump probably has tapes of him making those threats.

So Trump is reminding Comey not to embellish his stories because there "may" be recordings of the conversations.
But the left will not take the common sense route, they will spin this into something it's not as usual. how sad.

what could Trump possibly do with tapes of Comey other than prove what was really said? Seriously, I'd like to hear the twisted thoughts on this so I may try to understand that process.

Seriously.
One can read into it to dream up a veiled threat, if they were so inclined, but it is just as likely that he was warning him that it would be a stupid thing for Comey to do (whether leaking or taping) and would just cause himself problems down the road.

Not blind.... just reading a cryptic tweet without blinders over my eyes.

Don't they record everything that goes on in the Oval Office? I seem to remember seeing something about that, and the Pres has a little button on his desk he can hit to turn the recording off? Maybe I'm imagining that, idk...
