Honestly tho, this was pre-Trump and was happening under Obama, not that I am blaming him either , some folks need no extra push from the outside to do what they do.

Did you bother to read the ruling or the background behind the case? No, I didn't think so . . . like many other people, you simply read the liberal media and got fed up. The ruling was one that made neither side happy, but is not important anyway since the STORY is about the reasoning. The reason for the separation of the city from the county school system is very prejudice based but has nothing to do with race. It has only to do with money. It is a very rich city with lots of tax dollars coming into the local school. They simply don't like kids that are not their's coming and taking advantage of the resources that they paid for. And believe it or not it is their right, because education is a local matter and local townships have the right on how to spend their education money. I am just surprised that all these rich people ain't got together and started a private school yet (I mean they have been trying to get a separate school district for over a decade).

progressive democrats ruin schools and insist that working-class people send their kids to these failed government schools while sending their snowflakes to private schools.
the metro area decided they could have and run their own schools better than the existing bureaucracy. Alabama law has already approved such districting so there is precedent.

it's 'racist' because the judge thinks so. perhaps he/she is a psychic? how on earth does someone proclaim anothers' motives like that?

All children in the new district are their own, regardless of color. It is all about money.

This week, a federal judge found that the move was racially motivated. She also said it would send messages of racial inferiority and exclusion that, quote, "assail the dignity of black schoolchildren." Nevertheless, the judge allowed the split to go forward.

This is what is known as an opinion. I don't know this judge or the motivations that drive them but it is solely their opinion. See that addition to the bottom of the paragraph? The judge allowed the split to go forward. Why you ask? Because it's not against the law.

I know you are a prideful man and watch for things such as this but I have to ask. Other than the above quoted opinion, what makes this a race issue? Are there no black folk in the burbs? Is there some force that is keeping black folk from prosperity?

On it's own I'd probably not give it much attention but there are other stuff going on in Alabama to see a pattern. Can't really provide a link right now as I am on a not so smart I. Phone, needless to say some of it involves voter suppression and the like..

You're assuming there are a bunch of poor white kids there.

Have you spent much time at all researching school districts and the property values therein? I have. Let me tell you. The best school districts in this area? We'd be lucky to rent a two bedroom apartment in them. That's how expensive the real estate values in them are. There aren't very many of what you might call "poor" kids in those districts. Or at least, the poor kids there are the ones who can't afford a steady diet of organic stuff purchased at Whole Foods.
