Good. I'm all for replacing the ACA if it makes the GOP finally fix their wedgies but it can't be anything like this trash.

It's worse than that. Cowards without a brain is what Republicans are proving themselves to be!

All they had to do is allow healthy people to buy whatever policy they wanted, and let all the unhealthy and/or poorer people jump into Medicare, or Medicaid. 100 pages of legislation would do it.

Republicans make the Democratic party led by Schumer and Pelosi look UNITED and STRONG!

Trumpcare was a failure from the start. It covered far more than just letting people buy the policy they want. It will leave millions that have coverage now without any insurance. Btw this also breaks Trump promise of everyone having insurance.

Isn't it more the case that something as complex as healthcare legislation takes months if not years to perfect , checks and balances are needed when peoples lives are concerned , Trumps bill was cobbled together in a matter of weeks and would probably fall apart in similar speed.

Even poor unhealthy people vote.

Ryan put this bill together last year. It was called "A Better Way" back then. Because it's my career, I follow these things closely.

Truthfully, the AHCA would have been a DISASTER worse than ObamaCare. At least with ObamaCare, you can't enroll except during a 60 day window each year. The American Health Care Act allowed people to enroll whenever they wanted to! No health insurers were on board with that. Without health insurers participating, the bill wouldn't have worked anyway.

Just repeal it. That's it. No replacement.

We want our old doctors back. We want our old premiums and deductibles back.

Stop figuring out how to repay your donors and just repeal Obamacare, replacing it with nothing.

That bill would never pass Congress. It may get through the House, but it would die in the Senate. The reason this travesty of a bill was attempted was to prevent the Democrats from fillibustering. If you flat our repeal the whole thing, then the Dems will fillibuster and they'd need all 60 votes for passage (which they are guaranteed to get none from Democrats). But even baring that, full out repeal doesn't stomach with the moderates in your own party. So even without the 60 vote requirement, the bill would never make it through the Senate. And FINALLY, even if a full repeal were to clear both sides of Congress, things would NOT go back the way they were pre-ACA. They would be FAR worse as this bill just showed.

Ryan just learned the hard way that political rhetoric cannot trump reality, and reality says that the majority of Americans WANT government assisted healthcare in some form.

Medicare/Medicaid for the sick or poor. Let everyone else buy whatever health insurance they want. Damn government politician mindset caused the ObamaCare and the AHCA to be pieces of crap.

Pretty convinced this was all an attempt to draw all the air out of the room by trying to rush through the replacement bill in just yet ANOTHER feeble attempt by the Trump administration to draw attention away from the growing Russian-Collusion scandal. Or, it's just another Trump failure, with many more to come. This administration is completely incompetent.

Actually it was just a way to cover their asses by saying hey we tried and Trump just covered their asses even more by commanding they vote for it or lose their chance.

Ryan handed it off to Trump yesterday. "You're the great deal maker-negotiator...you close em Mr. President!". That's what an exasperated Sean Hannity was saying yesterday.. That Ryan was no better than Boehner.

That's irrelevant and a thinly veiled an ineffective attempt to shield your messiah. The facts are plain and simple:

- Trump promised healthcare for 'everyone'. He repeated it as did Spicer
- Trump repeatedly said he was behind the bill 100% (a bill that would provide healthcare for fewer people let alone everyone).
- He told the GOP to pass it -- it's a beautiful plan, remember?
- It failed

So he is armpit deep in this no mater how hard you try to wriggle him out of it. And throwing Ryan under the bus is just his business model. Ryan now joins scientists, generals, the intelligence community, the media, and a long list of individuals. Wake up.

This is serious political stuff.

Trump was stabbed in the back by his own party and he will be very pissed over this and get back at the freedom caucus.

Bannon is already started an enemies list and these GOP backstabbers are on it

Trumpcare is in trouble and if it fails, Steve Bannon has pledged to remember who defied the White House.Text

I don't know why everybody is getting upset about this healthcare situation. Obviously Obamacare(scam) needs to be repealed and replaced. I don't understand why people expected it to be replaced within a month or 2 of Trump getting in office either.

If you're trying to rush fixing a crappy system, you're only going to get a crappy replacement. I think they should spend at least a year sorting this out and making it right. Since everybody is so impatient, they are just trying to ram s# through just to shut people up. It's dumb. Stop whining because it wasn't replaced day 1 and let them actually take time to get it right.

ETA: And before you call me a Trumptard or call him my messiah, know that I didn't even vote. I'm just looking at this from a logic, rational standpoint.

I still don't know why we haven't just stopped the nonsense and put a universal healthcare system in place.

All this back and forth about Obamacare/repeal, blah blah, is a waste of our time.

It's going to happen eventually. So we might as well get it over with.

Yes. And 7 years to craft something. So...why this kludge?

I think this is a power play by Trump. If Obamacare is left to fester premiums are going to continue to skyrocket, it will become unsustainable and the Democrats will get all the blame, not just for creating it but for obstructing it's repeal.

It's going to be a # show.

Not a single actual quote from Trump, huh?

Regardless, the president has absolutely no power to introduce bills or vote on them. That is entirely the responsibility of congress and their minority/majority leaders.
