A predator will be a predator, no matter what laws there are or aren't. Want to get rid of predators in bathrooms? The ONLY way is to ban all public bathrooms.

Right...
So the same can't be said for TG being victims, predators will be predators?

When my daughter was 2, she would see a picture of a boy/man with long hair and she would say it was a girl because she said boys have short hair and girls have long hair. It wasn't about the penis or vagina at that point.

Thank you for proving at 2 she had no clue what gender actually was.

But the trans girl is much more likely to be attacked in the men's room, where men tend to congregate anyway.

No one taught her that. She observed it in her own life. All the boys she knew in her life had short hair. All the girls had longer hair.

......Every single one? Your 2 year old never asked the adults in her life? Hmmmmm.

CYPRESS

Mack Beggs, the transgender wrestler from Euless Trinity High School, got his pursuit of a Class 6A state girls wrestling championship off to a solid start Friday with a first-round victory.

Earning a major decision over League City Clear Spring's Taylor Latham in the 110-pound division, Beggs remained undefeated on the season and advanced to Friday afternoon's quarterfinals against Mya Engert of Amarillo Tascosa.

Latham gave Beggs as much as he could handle, avoiding being pinned and taking the match the distance.

Beggs, a 17-year-old junior, entered the UIL Wrestling State Tournament under controversy as a transgender wrestler. Beggs was born a girl and is transitioning to male. He has been taking testosterone since Oct. 2015.

While Beggs has said he’d prefer to wrestle against boys, University Interscholastic League rules force Beggs to compete as a girl.

I actually expected this story to be in reverse. Born a boy and wrestling as a girl for the win..

Nobody is denying these concerns or "fears" but they are unfounded and based on the slanderous notion that allowing transgender people to use the facilities that are best to them will lead to rape and molestation. 7 out of 9 rapes or molestations are committed by someone a person knows and transgender people have been using the bathrooms all along before this became the next big scare tactic.

As usual, you're twisting the narrative into this mythological assertion that everyone is framing trans people as sexual predators, but the up front issue is Obama's edict as written (which in forums terms you defend to the 'death') is there's no checks and balance to ensure sexual predators (this includes the kids) don't use the whole thing as a cover to justify being in the girls room with perversion whatever as their agenda.

And there is the part where boys are visually hardwired, the wandering eyes syndrome thing we have, that unless this is somehow verified to be dormant in a boy in addition to the GD condition, well that's an side issue too.

This idea that without any kind of 'confirmation', even in the lack of showing outward signs, the way this thing was framed from the get is kindergartners even were to be encouraged to sneak into the other RR. So now we have the social engineering angle.

Now in the face of clear outwards signs that would cause bullying, with some kind of testing to verify they're otherwise not 'perverts', and especially int he case of active bullying, now there would be a valid discussion to be had.

But instead it was all in over the top overkill with zero compromise not even on public safety grounds right out of the gates. I''ll tell ya, if I were trans and caught in this whole pinch I'd be enraged at Obama, as the way he set the whole thing into motion there would inherently be backlash.

And lets not forget, that nudging boys to go into the girls room 'ahead of time' actually opens them up for otherwise undue bullying. And since its all about bullying, well guess what fat kids, nerds, you name it they all get bullied too, and the RR is the perfect place to get cornered. So what are we to do about all of them? Bullying isn't a thing exclusive to white kids, or boys, or cis kids, or straight kids, or rich kids, or popular kids, or jocks, or whatever. It's just what HUMANS (especially kids) do to outsiders, nonconformists, etc.

I am curious about an aspect of this transgender issue. Why does treatment equal taking hormones and physical surgery to align the body with how the person feels or identifes? What is the evidence for the body being the wrong gender? Is there any form of treatment or therapy that focuses on accepting the body and treating the mind? Is it wrong to accept the body and condition the mind to accept the idea that said person is a unique Man(for example)? Instead of permanantly altering the body to become a female?

Yes I'm slightly off topic but before I can comment on the bathroom topic I need to understand the theory, or idea, or whatever that defines what a trans person is.

Let's stop right there, Mister. I have not "defended to the death" as you say, Obama's "Dear Colleague" guidance. Maybe not in this thread but the other one that is going on, I criticized this proclamation as being overly vague and overly politically correct in its intent to be all inclusive.

I've also argued that including gender non-conforming/gender variant kids under the same broad transgender umbrella as those genuinely trans with medically diagnosable gender dysphoria to be a really bad idea that does a total disservice to the kids that are really suffering. I even posted videos of trans people that feel the same way about the transtrender phenomenon.

So my friend, please do not try to put words in my mouth because I do think Obama's guidance pissed off more people than it helped but at any rate, I'm goddamn sick and tired of transgender children being used as political footballs in a partisan pissing match.

What a hateful world the right lives in. Hateful for wanting to force this girl

and this girl

and this girl

to use the men's room.

All because they don't conform to what the right wants - to live in the 1950's where women and blacks know their place, gays are kept hidden away, and no one knows what a transgender person is.

Why can someone choose their gender, but not their race? Race is actually much more arbitrary than gender, yet when it comes to your race, you aren't allowed to be what you want. Rachel Dolezal.

People don't choose their gender. Did you choose yours or did it come to you naturally just because?

"I didn't choose this" is the way transgender kids feel. I certainly never choose my gender but if I could have, it would have made my life one helluva lot easier.

We are all born with certain predispositions and innate characteristics but any child development book will tell you that a person's awareness of gender and their own internal sense of gender develops between 18 months and 4 years of age. Beyond that, a person's internalized sense of their own gender is very resistant to change as gender is one of the fundamental and primary building blocks of personality and identity.

For those that are transgender, the vast preponderance of scientific evidence points to neurobiological origins attributed to brain development influenced by the endocrinological environment in the womb or in other words, people are born this way.

For some, where an element of choice does come in is what to do about it but that greatly depends of the level of distress experienced between the brain and the body. For some, this is only moderately discomforting. For others, resolving this difference is crucial and fundamental and nothing short of doing everything possible to correct the physical and social aspects of gender so that they align with a person's core sense of what they are. The medical diagnosis for this is called gender dysphoria and is also referred to as transsexualism in scientific literature.

This has noting to do with Rachel Dolezal or people thinking they are a cat.

No I didn't choose my gender, I was born with it. Just like I didn't choose my race, I was born with it. So transgenders are OK, but transracials like Rachel Dolezal and Shaun King aren't? You must be a bigot against transracials then, to use the left's argument.

I didn't choose my gender either. I was born with it in a completely natural and organic way. Unfortunately the anatomy didn't concur which caused all kinds of hell when I was growing up. I did get things sorted out though so no worries.

So was Rachel Dolezal born "transracial"? Maybe I am a bigot if I don't think personality disorders and gender dysphoria are the same thing and get a little bit pissy when people try to conflate the two. It's probably safe to say you haven't invested fifty plus years investigating and researching the transsexual phenomenon so it it pointless for me to discuss your apples and oranges points further with you.

Okay, well I haven't been clicking on these kinds of threads too much at all since the beginning of last summer, but I remember quite clearly the more or less same general tone from the 'pro-trans crowd, with three particular 'leaders' (2 of whom are on this page), where any and all attempts to underscore the threats of pervs exploiting the situations were smacked down and twisted around as if slandering all trans kids as demented pervs predators, that the edict as written was to be the gospel, and all with a HEAVY emotional appeal with a general undertone of anyone criticizing the general ordeal were a bunch of monsters. Now there might have been a little variation on these kinds of points from one person tot eh next, but that was the general consensus was my impression after riding out several long debate threads when this stuff was still fresh and hot to trot post-edict.

Now maybe my impression was a bit over-jaded from the total experience, but then again when people come in and derail threads / arguments, unleash guilt tripping sobs stories in the face of valid critiques, with demagoguery as the preferred general approach, to me that speaks volume (like body language in real life) about how an agenda is to be driven.

If you all collectively are taking a more moderate approach to this, well that's good news. Ya I'm a bastard sometimes, but there's a lot of constructive criticisms in my words too you all might try to appreciate (no need to speak it, just don't twist peoples words).

Kayla:

If individuals are all looking like that, I cant imagine they hadn't already been using most any restroom anywhere without anybody even knowing any different. One of my initial impressions of the debate was to make a big thing out of this, especially the way I was seeing it being argued (that whole backlash thing), I saw in that a potential for (normally I'd say dont step on your own...) dont shoot yourself in the foot.

Believe it or not, I hope all my bastardfulness might actually be of some help.

We just cant as a society put the safety of children out of mind for personal crusades or anything else of the sort, not ever, no matter the cause. Especially when it comes to all of our adult bad habits, bizarrities & craziness (we as a species are totally nuts everybody).
