Yes it takes a minute or 30 to suss it out over there but it can be worth it.

It doesn't function like a regular message board. I'm sure there must be a how to instructional somewhere online but it would take me too long to explain it here.

The bigger picture may well be..

4chan mods are actively working as shills, deliberately banning people for little or nothing and deleting harmless threads. In order to hype up a false narrative about why the site went down and wiped off lots of data.

There seems to be overwhelming evidence that this is the case now.

The day it happened, they had a banner explaining that lots of the images that had been previously uploaded had been lost due to some technical issue..the banner also encouraged users to continue uploading new images to make up for all the lost ones.. yet during this episode most people could not upload new images and I saw virtually no new images being uploaded..I also saw several posts complaining about the problem.

They suppressed the image uploading system im almost certain of it, because I am almost positive I saw some new threads get stared which you have to post an image to do. Which means some posters were selectively allowed to upload images.

Putting it all togeather I think something was deleted that day and it wasn't any alien. I also think they are dragging this out in order to go through the archives or something similar due the length of the bans there appears to be a window of time they have allocated to finishing the job.

I don't use this site but just coming in to update people what happened in the last 2-3 hours.

There was a thread in 4chan's Paranormal Board discussing the picture. The thread was a good 400 posts long before it was deleted, and up for several hours.

There was supposedly an ARG going on that may or may not be related but it contained two encrypted files:
"lastgift"
"lorem ipsum"

The first seemed to be trolling with a porn pic and useless text, but perhaps it is needed with the second file.

Taking the last code through a rot13 decoder, it says "Vestibulumullamcorpernequetellusinvulputateestdignissim"

I am having trouble deciphering it in latin, but that's where I left off.

These google earth locations were also found:

76°33'37.1"S 41°35'43.9"E

And right around the time all of this was coming together the thread was deleted and all users were banned for 24 hours or more, hundreds of people. Also, anyone who makes a topic on it gets banned and deleted as well, which leads me to believe they were onto something.

Never been banned before for "trolling" in years on there. Definitely Fishy.

As you'll know, 4chan posts are not like regular message board posts..they are more like texts..short and often just pointing to the image they posted like an info graph.

As you'll also know all the "true dekektive" stuff on there was communicated also almost entirely via images.

I was in that thread, and it was over 600 posts long. Also, I did not get banned officially, but I was put on watch for three minutes while the mods decided whether or not I had actually done anything wrong. That being said, I have a lot of screenshots from the thread. I'll go through what I have and see if you missed anything before the thread went down.

Yeah, and if you use that deciphered string as a password for the same file you get a hidden partition with a text file containing an encoded link to a screamer and some different GPS coordinates.

Edit Again: Do we have the pass for the hidden volume inside the Lastgift file?
It might be a dead end but I haven't seen it yet.

Okay, to continue on what AstralTraveler had said, 2mb of the 10mb file taken from the /apg/ (Alien Picture General) was porn. That being said, people spent some time trying to figure out what the other 8mb were. People were just going around in circles over it. Also, there was an anon or two saying that it was a test to see who was worthy of the photo, but they were accused of LARPing.

Secondly you showed up with another brand new member within seconds of each other.

All message board have their pros and cons.. 4chan is good for just posting nonesence without leaving your reputation in tatters. The down side is when everyone is anonymous, anyone can infiltrate and work their own agendas..we see it all the time over there

Here however you have the credibility of reputation and time spent on the site. So like I said, you may be legit..but it don't look it under the circumstances.
