...and henceforth, that day... above all other days, shall be remembered and celebrated as... "Peanut Day" and the multitude of Squirrels shall rejoice in that sacred place, where peanuts are partaken of in such numbers, until such time as the next day, which shall thence be known as "Pecan Day"...

Hey Jack,

I remember as a kid my grandma showed us how to dehydrate water using shallow baking trays in the oven.
It was much quicker than the Hob method, but it was a little bit tricky - getting all of the dehydrated water out of the trays for storage.
We didn't have any way of canning but we did use hermetic-sealed jars with cages and rubber-ring seals. They worked pretty good and kept the water fresh for up to about 2 years I think?
The trick was to make absolutely sure that you'd got ALL of the moisture out before sealing them, and BOY did they taste great when you re-hydrated them later!

Thanks for reminding me!

G

I'm ok.
Chrissie & the boys have been away all week down at the Island. I'm home alone (working).
It's quiet when they're not around here!

The schools are on holiday and Callum is doing his first ever yachting course - learning how to sail!
They're not back until Saturday.

Sorry - dehydrated water??

To re-hydrate water, you add water??

I don't get it??

Of course not, John. To rehydrate water, you use bourbon or rum, silly.

Welcome to the Shed, grainofsand. Pull up a chair and tell us a story. I'll have a pixie get you a beverage.

Hello grainofsand, Shep and John! I see I missed the others earlier.

Gordi, love the flowers and the wood burned squirrel!
I don't know how much of the story to cut out before adding an entry, so I'm going to copy everything you copied and added and then I'll add something. I'll leave the cutting out for someone else. It will be a looooong orange story. LOL

No thanks, I'm only interested in the rehydrated water.
What's the news on that?

Hm. Bored. I think I'm going to read a bit of discordianist material. Discordianism is always fun.

Have I ever told you guys I'm not subscribing to scientism anymore? Well, I'm not subscribing to scientism anymore. I eventually got bored by the confines of the box.

I'm afraid you'll have to check with JacKatMtn. Such sorcery is beyond the capabilities of this mere sheepherder.

Shedisans -

I've posted the last catchup episodes of Falling. You can find the link in my signature or here is the direct link to the first of this batch: Falling: An Epic Fantasy.

This covers Seeress Meron and her treatment of the girl who was assaulted, and brings the story in the new thread up to where I left it off here in the Shed. Tomorrow I will post a brand new episode in the new thread, the final episode of that scene.

Shep, thanks for the update! I'm looking forward to the new material!

John, good luck finding something interesting to keep your attention! I'm sure you'll find something!

Rather anxious about tomorrow. I have to get up early and go to a Doctor's appointment. Always makes me nervous and unhappy. One thing I always say about Doctor's appointments and any kind of tests..."I just want to be left alone!"
I have enough health problems and don't need to hear that anything got worse or that they found anything new.

Ah, I see. I apologize - I missed that detail and made an assumption. In I.T. we have a saying about the word "assume"...

I'm sure our resident Scotsman will have a fine explanation for you.

Hang in there, Night Star. I'm not fond of doctor appointments, tests, or poking & prodding either, so you have my sympathy.

So far, trying to touch the tip of my nose with my tongue is the only silly thing that comes to mind.

I wish I could help with the anxiety. But if it's any consolation, the anxious wait will probably make the appointment trivial by comparison. Sometimes you need a fear to kill another fear.

When I'm anxious I listen to some heavy metal, or epic music, dunno if that could help too.

Yup. There's a few, Hour-long Epic Music videos around on YouTube. They sound like epic movies soundtracks, pretty cool. They make you want to grab the World by the horns. Well, in Night Star's case, the Doctor by the horns.
