This is my go to at the moment (and anything else by The Deer Hunter)

This is a song from White included in a collection of EP's, one for each colour and each with their own genre/style. Quite a unique and talented band

YES.

I mean I think most people know the words that desribe physics and life..

BUT

I don't think most people have even a tiny incling to how freaking crazy everything is..

Like Flying through space in a spaceship with NO ROOF!! at what something like 1.5 million miles an hour, just counting galaxy spin.. But the freaking galaxy is moving too!!

LOL

but of course green things come out of dead bodies that absorb wavelengths of light from a giant nuclear reactor in space 93 million miles a way.. duh.. And we breathe their waste air.. It only makes perfect sense.. I've seen plants in the grocery store.

I guess that brings me to my next piece. This one comes from a member of ATS called Kaelci. I mean her recommendation some time ago.. Blew my mind..

Thanks everyone for the msost fun I've had on ATS since Badselfeater

And a big shout out to Reverbs.. bro. Feel like we took a road trip together or something!

I feel right on the cusp of finding the song that the past-life song you posted reminded me of.. I wanna say it's Danzig or Henry Rollins.. will post later if I find it.
Anyways I had better go tend to my family before they leave me .

I'm looking forward to taking my time going through this thread for all the songs I missed!

You would say Henry rollins on a past life thingie..

He's one of the only people who freaked me out when I found out about him..

Like I already knew him.. Like he's my brother or me or something..

So blow my mind again on your way out..

Great road trip.

Live proof it is the journey not the destination.

it's been slowed down a bit.. Can't find the original anymore.. Happens a lot with my favorite music. There is a Muse song I have a video for.. I wonder how many have the link? I'll have to go through ATS to find it again. But I do have it.. Otherwise you only see the other video. Muse made it private.

I am getting a lot of exposure to music that I would never have listened to outside of this thread. I have never liked Rap music, and I am still not a fan.

I have heard several Rap songs were I was able to make the emotional connection. The beauty of music is that it is a medium were messages can be transmitted from one soul to another. Not all performers can make that connection with all people. That is why is is wonderful that there are so many of them.

Rap to me is the closest to poetry. You just have to avoid the mainstream in most cases to find REAL.
And even then it may not be your taste. We all get to be different. That's so beautiful that we can be so different.

Some rap songs have inspired me 10 times more than a rock song or blues or pop or whatever.

but of course to each their own.

What you said is so true..

It's the message not the medium. If you FEEL it, you really feel it..

Something that relates..

Here is what I would say to ATS.

ugh.. One of my exes was a music director for an acapella group.. Certain songs are missing the extra POP from the awesomely arranged vocals..
That song is one of them.. The back up of "I'm not afraid" that is like an echo of eminem.. Sounds like # compared to my exes version.. Too bad she didn't get eminem to rap the track or she would have the best version EVER made..

Wasn't Eminem abusive, that's not romantic to me.

I think he grew out of it..
His mom hurt him really bad. (women)
His pain is real. As real as mine or yours.
it has consequences the pain doer has no idea about.. The pain receiver has no idea about..
everyone hurts.

In recent songs he has shown otherwise.
regret first, and then heart touching moments that make you want to die.

He's much more awake than I think you are seeing..

they put him on the superbowl and he faked them out the entire time.. Acting like a zombie and stuff.. Getting people to stop thinking "normal" is normal.

He's a good dude with an angry past.
That's my take.
I have a similar story.
And Now I'm a sweet heart. (thank you god).

I mean.. Just listen..

The song I posted said his only goal in life now is to raise his children. (not afraid)

but here is another..

Huge heart.. Just got hurted in his tender years.

I love eminem as a true Man.
He inspires me to be a better man.

he also grew up in a very rough place.

but he shows people do change.

Love and truth can conquer the darkest corners of this Human life.

He is the real deal.

people think of Tupac as a gangster..

but that is only one part of his broken rose with broken pedals growing out of the concrete story.

WE are ALL more than impressions.

Especially impressions in the "media"

SO so much beauty for those with the right eyes to see. open.

Me too! (Exposure to new music.) Isn't it wonderful?

You may not like this one (rap).. but the words are great. This is from 2008 before some of this was part of the national conversation.
