California Could Cut Off Feds In Response To Trump Threats

If they find a legal way to withhold paying federal taxes in response to Trump withholding federal funds it will be Callis win since Calli is a bread winner for the federal govt.

California is a net contributor to federal funds. If they stopped paying their federal taxes, and in return stopped seeing federal dollars their budget situation would improve.

I guess I missed the part in Civics class where a governor is exempt from the law.

California is just a fictitious island anyway, nothing there is based on reality.

California won't secede. This talk is mainly about dollars. If it played out the way that's being proposed (it won't). California would maintain it's seats in Congress, the feds would stop collecting money from California, and your taxes would go up as a result.

Hollywood is a big industry for California, but the real money these days comes from Silicon Valley and the other tech offices throughout the state.

That said, nothing is going to happen. People are just shooting their mouths off because they don't like Trump.

Nothing but a lot of bluster, as far as I am concerned. They need federal funds for all of the programs they push, so threatening to withhold state funds seems a bit less than honest. What funds, exactly, do they intend to withhold? Personal income taxes from citizens? So, they want to see people in trouble for not paying taxes, that they have paid, in order to keep protecting illegal invaders?

The reason for this is clear. California holds a large number of the illegals in the country, which have lately been counted in the census, and that gives them more electoral votes. When these illegal invaders vote, as they are doing, that means California can change a national election. That's the goal. Power through cheating.

I say, cut them off, and keep them cut off, till they learn that the rules aply to them. Or, let them go, and see how they manage alone. They like illegal votes, so the illegals can vote to make California part of Mexico.

I predict one of three things will happen.

California is making a lot of noise and never actually goes through with this. If so, Trump will cut off funding and California will cave, all the while screaming bloody murder.

Or...

California will follow through, in which case Trump will nationalize a Federal National Guard from the other states and send them to arrest every politician involved either on racketeering, tax evasion, or theft of government property. Sessions will prosecute, and all of them will wind up in jail.

Or...

California will follow through, officially secede, and mobilize their National Guard and law enforcement to protect their politicians. If this happens, Trump will send in the military and take them over by force. Their leaders will be arrested and charged with treason. The state assets will be seized, and martial law will be implemented until a new leadership can be elected under strict US scrutiny. All illegal aliens found in the state will be immediately deported. The remaining citizens will be left indigent and forced to sell their property to investors from other states. 50 years from now, Californians will have become the most despised people in the country, and will live with that label for the next century or so.

It's not like we havent flipped the finger to the feds before. California isn't the only state doing it either. And since blue states are the ones the feds leech from the most, the threat of being cut off from the feds just aint what it used to be.

Since we are no longer the US of A, I am going to refer to this mess as "Trump-tardica" and leave it at that.

Bingo. There is no such thing as "patriotism", because no real patriot would stoop to supporting this kind of rabid violence over a state wanting independence. Doing so would violate their idea of ethics defined by patriotism, namely the freedom part.

I say let them have at it. Let them try to secede, and failing that, make them autonomous and thus a territory with significantly greater control over themselves. They can make do on their own, especially with more money in their pocket and far less going to DC. I believe the ratio is something like DC keeps 4/5 of what Cali sends them. Think about that. That means their federal bucks are much easier to deal without, when they don't have to ask for their money back in the first place.

And let Texas do the same, they've been itching for it since forever. If those 2 can have at least autonomy as territories, and prosper, it's a good sign we're doing the whole "united" thing very wrong. Maybe that's what detractors are afraid of.
