If I was Trump I'd be leaking these stories, Ala Tyrian Lannister, and find out where the mole is.

Had a similar conversation last night. This business is straight up Game of Thrones right here.

This isn't black and white. This is a war of disinformation and Trump is as guilty as spreading it as anybody else.

It is only a war because trump is using social media to speak directly to the american people; otherwise the msm would have skewered him already.
How can trump be as guilty as the msm? Is he to be held up to any standard of journalism? lol this is a riot.

He is just as bad because he is able to defend himself...........ok whatever

As it stands, our system comes off now as a petulant, out of control gang of social-media addled teens.

And this is new how?

Kind of reminds me of the movie, "The Man with One Red Shoe."

Epic level trolling going on here.

The difference now, at least in my mind, is that where as people used to fear/respect us - now they mock us and do as the please. Of course that's been trending since 2003...so, maybe you're right. This is just the icing on the cake I guess. They don't even bother leaving money on the nightstand anymore.

Ah yes...because he's POTUS. He needs to be held to a HIGHER Standard.

I didn't say he was bad, I said Trump spreads disinformation, which is true. I can pull out 100 instances of him either flat out lying or twisting the facts to suit his agenda. Every politician does this, just because Trump does it over Twitter instead of in the a news conference doesn't make it any different.

This story, as surreal as it is, NEEDS to be packaged up in a nice, tidy format and distributed to the public from an alternative news source, preferably NOT Infowars.

The people not up to date with this stuff need to be reminded just how low our media is.

So what is your point?

We aren't talking about Obama, your straw man argument is weak Ketsuko.

How does that erase the fact that Trump keeps claiming there are no ties to Russia in his camp, when clearly there are?

You know what this is starting to remind me of?

In Kansas City we elected a mayor not so many years ago, the guy more or less an outsider who was out of the city audit office. He and his wife ran a shoe-string campaign out of a single rented trailer. He ran on things like rehabbing the city's failing sewer system (something that really badly needs doing) and other things like that, basic fiscal responsibility.

He won.

The City Council and the local press had a royal hissy fit over it! They COULD NOT stand it. Every other week there was some new manufactured scandal from either the council or the press over something he did or did not do. And they obliterated his entire term with such things and nothing ever could be done because the council played shenanigans tying his hands while the press skewered him.

This is started to look like that kind of hysteria.

Fed have locked up people by bending the law. If the right person is upset, bye bye freedom. Or do you still believe the US justice system is completely honorable?

I'm basically pointing out that you guys are like the right when it comes to this.

The right kept pointing to Obama's ties to radical Islamic regimes, and this was no big deal.

Now you guys are falling all over yourselves to create the new Cold War and point out Trump's ties to Russia.

It's the same darn thing. Explain to me please how Russia is any more dangerous than radical Islamic regimes.

It could go either way at this point.

4chan trolling liberals.

Russia having dirt on Trump.

IF there is dirt to be had on any person of interest and it can be obtained by any means why wouldn't any intelligence agencies foreign or domestic, or unaffiliated hackers/spies have it?

That said, true or not the best way to kill the compromising nature of such information would be to preemptively leak it to the public one way or another to remove the possibility of it being used as leverage against a president, leader or candidate.

It's an old game, being played more out in the open than ever before.

It's right out of a politics 101 playbook, just never on such a large, salacious scale.

Another question in my mind is why the intels would include an unsubstantiated report, generated by political opposition in an official briefing? By their own account it is unsubstantiated. And now there is a question as to whether it was actually presented, according to Reince Priebus. It doesn't look official. It doesn't read official. And mundane, easy to check facts like travel etc where not vetted...so why? Is it a bluff? Was it even actually presented to Trump?

Last I checked, libel is illegal, or it's at least something you could get sued for.

I agree potus should be held to a higher standard, but I didn't form that opinion today. Like your doctor keep your doctor ring any bells? I just think the standard should be applied equally, and for the outgoing admin it has not.

I hope no one puts a leash on trump and his twitter. IMO it is the first actual insight into what a politician is thinking in real time. No one gets to interpret what an aid or rep said or what they think it means. For those 100s of instances you point to how many of those did trump make a retraction or apology for when he was wrong?

And trumps twitter will be a constant source of comedy for those who make a living telling jokes. part of his jobs initiative?

Well I would agree with you on all those points.

I wasn't defending Obamas ties to radical organisations and we see proof of that in how everything was handled in Libya and Syria.

I'm just saying that THIS TIME, we should probably hold them accountable so that we don't end up with another debacle like we did under Obama. The foreign policy of the last 8 years has been atrocious.
