I'm glad Syx helps you. It is never too late to learn anything. Like I told someone recently in a private message when they said I was a wise elf. I said that "I may be wise in some ways, but dumb as a rock in others." LOL!

With all the meds I'm on, I get confused sometimes, but I just blame it on the meds and old age. Ha!

OK WELL THEN THATS WHAT I AM GOING TO STICK TO MY MEDS AND OLD AGE...BUT I KNOW THAT WONT WORK...I WILL STILL BE ASKING SYX WHAT IT MEANS...WHEN I DROPPED OUT OF SCHOOL IN 11TH GRADE...MY LEARNING WAS PLAYING GAMES..JUST CAUSE WE WAS NOT LIKE OTHER KIDS WE WAS MARKED FOR THE REST OF OUR SCHOOL YEARS...PLUS WHEN I DID DROP OUT MY GRADE LEVEL FOR READING WAS A 3RD GRADE LEVEL..HOW SAD IS THAT FOR ADULT...WHEN I READ BOOKS IF I DONT KNOW THE WORD I SKIP IT ALL TOGETHER..

That is very sad CC. I wish you could have got the help you needed back then. Perhaps Syx can teach you what you need to know. I wonder if there are any tutors/teachers who would work with you for free? Maybe check a library and see of they have any free classes available for adults? Could have sworn I read about a library, maybe around here years ago that did that helped adults like that. It's never too late to learn. Have Syx help you with a dictionary to look up words you don't understand.

Please stop skipping words.

Stop reading for a second and type the word in Google or use a dictionary.

You will learn so much and your brain will feel good.
It's never to late.

Thank Syx, NightStar and Gordi for the nice comments on my story.

Night going back to what you said earlier,
one of the reasons for my story line was to go back and recapture the memories of the first Shed days.

My wife was a lurker from the very beginning.
Even back as far as the valentines thread.
It took her a while to get the courage to join you all.

I came a bit later.
Lurking and reading for her when she has some difficulty keeping up.

I sort of envy the spirit you guys had in the beginning.
I wish we would have joined sooner and became friends with everyone back then.

In the back of my mind I guess I hope to awaken the memories of some of the old timers and lure them back for a while.
Or at least show everyone who came in later a hint at some of the bonds of friendship the Shed members had in the beginning.

Not that there isn't friendship now. LOL

What I'm trying to say is,
I know everything changes over time.
And that is not necessarily a bad thing.
In some instances it is for the better.
But occasionally it's good to pause and reflect.
To look back on how things were, and began, and grew.
To better understand why things are the way they are now.
And perhaps give an ideal to pursue in the future.

In a few minutes I'm going to have to throw a fit and push the tables over and smash the cake and knock over the drinks and yell about it at everyone.

It's the right thing to do and everyone will enjoy the drama since that's what everyone's into.

I'm contemplating this very seriously right now.
Hmmm...

I don't know if it will bring our lost or lurking members back. We have always left messages about the doors always being open and the lights always on and said other things about missing them and stuff. I have always given credit to Jane and Jacy for bringing us together whenever someone would thank me for the shed.

Jane brought us together in the awesome Valentine Day thread and Jacy started the Shed. I continued it with much joy and love and have been honored to keep opening the doors of new sheds.

Not sure what you mean about the ideal you wish us to pursue in the future. Whatever members want to see, they only have to post more of what they want. The Shed can only be what its members make it to be.

If anyone is dissatisfied with anything, they can send me a PM or speak about it in here. We have a great group of folks in here and whatever direction the shed takes us in, I will be there with you all.

I very much enjoyed your story entries and taking a trip down memory lane!
I miss some of the lost members very much and often think of them and wish them well. As always, they are welcomed here with open arms. I often wonder who our lurkers are and why they don't join in. Many people seem intimidated or don't know if they will fit in or whatever. Just jump in! We are always very happy to meet new people and have them join in.

I was just going to check out your spooky thread and something told me to come check in here first. I don't know what you are upset about, but none of us here enjoy the drama of a tantrum. I don't know why you would think that. If you are knocking down furniture and ruining perfectly good cake, do it in your house, not our home here in the shed.

Oh I didn't mean anything to disparage the current Shed.
I was just pointing out that in the beginning you guys found each other on ATS and you all seemed to be very close and the Shed was your special hiding place. (Or meeting place. You know what i mean.
)
I'm just trying to take everyone back for a peek at how it started.
As for as ideal in the future.
It sounded better in my head. lol
Never drink wine and try to sound deep when you post. lol

Bahahaha! You gonna share that wine or what?

It was a lovely idea and fun as well to read it Tom. No offense taken. People are often curious about how it all began and my memory sucks so bad. You did an amazing job! Thank you! Now pass me some wine please.

I can emphasize with your lament. Not per the shed particularly but in general. Going through the personal growing pains of meeting new people and solidify the bonds of friendship is not such easy work on the soul as it outwardly appears. It's hard to see in the moment but the love that is formed in that small span of time goes by so fast.

As things change you realize you may have forgotten to enjoy the time you were in and long to have it back. A bit of nostalgia if you will. I hope those of you that started this wonderful place and made those connections so long ago have a chance even if brief to relive those moments again.

I came pretty late but this place is a very special part of the interwebs.

Is there any reason it is a shed and not a palace or some other structure? I'm curious to the origin of the name.

Oh and hello there of course!

Jiminy, nicely said!

Hiya Moon! I didn't recognize you with your new avatar. Oh Lord, I need help with that answer. I think I know, but I'm not exactly sure. I'd hate to screw this up, you know my crappy memory and all. Someone...help! Tom or Gordi or Syx or someone else would know. They aren't on as many meds as I am, they should remember. I think that chemo I got 5years ago killed off too many brain cells. I wanted to change the name at one time to something more magical at one time, but I didn't want get killed or anything so I left it alone. LOL

I am very well my little Jiminy! I'm sure you are as well, you always are.

Have to go take a nice bath in my antique tub. I'll be hanging out with the mermaids and fishies for a while, but I shall return. Hope you are around then.

Hi Guys!

I saw Supertramp play right here in my town. I didnt even know who they were before that.

I really love a 12 string guitar, and a great voice, don't you?

.....one of the reasons for my story line was to go back and recapture the memories of the first Shed days.

Perhaps, past, present and future become perceptible to those who have a wish to comprehend the infinity of The Shed and all it contains.

In the back of my mind I guess I hope to...... at least show everyone who came in later a hint at some of the bonds of friendship the Shed members had in the beginning.

I hear your plead all though I am not an "Elder" I think those who have eyes and hearts will see and feel.

I know everything changes over time.
But occasionally it's good to pause and reflect.

And perhaps give an ideal to pursue in the future.

Ahh my friend, we have dismissed just that, silence, a tale before night, the fire of compassion built in unity to gather around. We have no longer allow for a time of sharing.
Change is the magic word, in a pace that out laws the reflection you call for, so we may not see what we fear most, ourselves and each other.
I applaud this kind of so called "nostalgia", all though I name it "Rhythm" "Tradition".
Nostalgia binds one in the past. Tradition welcomes the future.

Ooooh, 12 string guitar and a nice voice for sure! I will listen to more of it when I get back. You guys can keep each other company while I'm away. Maybe more folks will show up too.

I know you are speaking to Night as usual, so forgive my comment. But I find the name Shed, very appropriate. It is the smallest of dwellings as an atom that contains the universe.
The Shed holds us all.

So very nice Rider. So sweet and strong. Thank you for introducing these lyrics. And yes a twelve string is a joy.
I must admit my knowledge of those times are limited.
How are you friend?
