Chinese warship stole US underwater drone as they watched

This was in international waters. This is a warship that is taking something from a US maritime vessel.

In the latest encounter in international waters in the South China Sea region, the USNS Bowditch was sailing about 100 miles off the port at Subic Bay when the incident occurred, according to the official. Bowditch had stopped in the water to pick up two underwater drones. At that point a Chinese naval ship that had been shadowing the Bowditch put a small boat into the water. That small boat came up alongside and the Chinese crew took one of the drones.

This to me is as very overt act that could lead to worse things as we as heightened tensions in the region. Was the US spying...I am sure...but what will the response from the administration be?

You really think that's so? Under Reagan's military A Russian Navy vessel rammed CG-48 USS Yorktown and there was no retribution or weapons targeted. You would risk a war between two super powers for a remote operated vehicle? That's ridiculous. Hell we salvaged part of a Russian submarine in the 60's without causing a war. source

China steals a drone right in front of us and we watch.
