Amidst all this talk of sore winners and sore losers, I want to bring up 2012. Although some of the videos in the link are dead, there are still a lot of verifiable links to the stories presented here

There were riots after Obama got his second term. People committed suicide. People committed homicide. Trump said that our system was rigged.

In my mind, there were many examples of conservatives being sore losers, and I sure remember liberals being sore winners too.

It happens every time. Because of the growth of the accessibility of social media we just see it more than we did in the past.

*The site linked above is not one I frequent, and does have a VERY leftist leaning. That said, I found it by googling "republican reactions to 2012" and found that each example was properly sourced.

Let them have the W for once. Let them gloat. Donald Trump is the complete delegitimization of the right. They selected a barely literate President and a vice president who doesn't believe smoking kills and believes the earth is 6,000 years old.

Seriously. Which is worse? Getting voted out of Washington? Or getting laughed out of Washington?

I would say that Obama getting laughed out of Washington is the worst. Because that is exactly what happens when you con a nation with nothing but LIES for 8 years, and then expect not to get a royal ass kicking for it. And Trump is the new Grand Champion ass kicker. Either get behind a new beginning with better things coming, or get out of the way.

Your name is NoCorruptionAllowed, yet you endorse a guy that is considering the CEO of JP Morgan Chase as a cabinet member. I really do hope that Trump makes good on his promises to be transparent and fair and I hope that he does not make that decision. But with that floating about, don't you feel a little bit conned when it comes to "draining the swamp'? I know I do.

Sore Winners

A sore winner is someone who wins and spends far too much time gloating over it, to the point that the rest of the people feel poorly about even participating.

I've been very critical of the sore losers after this election; but I am just critical of the sore winners... perhaps moreso. There is nothing good or productive or righteous about gloating, much less mocking and taunting and insulting the political opposition. It only creates more problems for all of us, and does not even truly serve one's best political interests -- whatever those are. Sadly, there aren't many voices out there on either side calling out the sore winners. I know. I looked. All I found were a couple blogs; but no real leadership.

The Sore Winners Can’t Move On

Sore Winners

This in-fighting is not helping any of us! It simply makes us all pawns -- some willing pawns -- in the divide-and-conquer war against us. When we keep doing what we've been doing, we'll keep getting what we've already gotten!!!

Learn from Mitt Romney's suicidal "47%" comment... Learn from Hillary's "irredeemables" and "deplorables" comment... Learn from the last many years of blaming and hating and fighting... Learn from these folks:

Democrats Have No One to Blame but Themselves for Trump

Stop Shaming Trump Supporters

We have to learn to do better. We ALL have to do better.

This was the order of progression:

1. Trump won
2. Trump supporters said "Yeah!"
3. Liberals rioted, cried, called suicide hotlines & crisis hotlines, destroyed police cars, assaulted Trump voters, beat up school girls, wet their pants, threatened assignation, etc.
4. Trump supporters said "Cut it out!"
5. Liberals continued, and continued, and continued.
6. Trump supporters laughed, got pissed and responded.

So...feel free to find the CAUSE of the problem (hint: it appears between #2 and #4) and once it is fixed...all the numbers that follow disappear.

And as I cited above, people that didn't support Obama reacted horribly too. It happens. People get angry, they react. Our society of instant gratification and placation has just made it worse, on both sides.

Really? On a scale of 1 to 10...10 being the worst, tell me how you compare the reactions to Obama and Trump. Please show me (as a few examples) where people who didn't like Obama tweeted death threats, pulled citizens out of cars and beat them, destroyed police cars, destroyed private property, etc.

Yeah...a few people spoke out and some said some pretty stupid things. But I sure as hell don't remember any crimes, violence or death threats.

Why are the right acting as if they didnt have their own little pet names for the left? Are you really going that route? Stop acting like you were these saintly god-fearing turn the other cheek type of party.. You had names for the left too, and you insulted them just as much.

Both right and left hypocrisies are really starting to piss me off; but moreso the right because you guys are acting like you had no clue what type of game this is

Like the kid who abandons his friend when something goes wrong and when he is caught he stands there like

"Oh, who, me? I was just standing over there"

No, the right isn't any better.

Interesting you should do that... But you must not have checked me out too closely, because I can think of at least a couple posters who would most likely profoundly disagree. And the nature of a discussion forum means my comments to those posters were read by (and apply equally) to others of like mind, though not addressed specifically to them.

However, I have -- by choice -- also chosen to focus my attention on positive, productive and proactive responses to the election results.

probably when people stop crying about how the electoral college should be changed (OH, JUST THIS ONCE PLS WE LOVE HILLARY WAY TOOOOOOO MUCH) they'll stop gloating

¯_(ツ)_/¯

I'd like to believe that. But in my experience and judgment, gloating comes from within a person... not from without. After all, lots of folks aren't gloating -- whether others are "crying" or not. Folks who want to do and be better because that's who they want to be, and it has nothing to do with what others do.

Thank you for the reminder that it's not just one party or the other that can be sore winners and/or losers. It can go back and forth. But it is a valuable reminder to both parties that the pendulum swings back and forth.

All can learn and benefit from their own experience... treat others as you would like to be treated.

No one can cause anyone to be a sore winner. That comes from within. Obviously. Note that not all the "winners" are sore winners.

Also note that calling out criminal behavior -- and understanding that it's coming from hired violent thugs, not legitimate protesters -- is not being a sore winner.

Excuse me? You presume too much. I am not a liberal. Not even an ex-liberal. Never ever registered with the Democrat party (and I've been voting since Carter was prez).

If you choose to lower yourself to that level then you are no better or worse or different than those you attack... if you choose to be a foot soldier for the PTB in their divide-and-conquer battles, that is your choice and your choice alone. And whatever YOU choose to do and be, it says everything about you and nothing about anyone else.

You can also choose to do and be a bigger and better person -- for your own benefit, if nothing else. And, likewise, that would say everything about you and nothing about anyone else. Your choice. Choose wisely.

This is the mentality of the collective left.. "We need to pass the bill before we can see what is in it." You call us sore winners? I call you people on the left ignorant, evil, selfish and you embody the term sore loser.

This is what the left is all about. They would post birth abortion this kid and not think twice.
www.wnd.com...

They are doing this and worse. If you voted for Trump, dont dare go to a black neighborhood. You people on the left have no idea what you are doing or saying and you call us sore winners? Look in the mirror..

do you remember the
"We're the majority, sit down and shut up" attitude after bush was elected? the attitude that if we weren't with bush on everything, we were the enemy? remember the words "traitor" being thrown around??
or do you suffer from selective memory?

not all those liberals were out there calling you names, and heck I've been called some rather nasty names along the way that I most definately didn't deserve.
not all the protestors out there are rioting, most of them are being rather peaceful about it. heck, in most of the country, there are no protests to be seen except what is on the news. we just picked ourselves up, brushed ourselves off and went on with our day.....maybe some of those who were playing in the stock market dumped their shares in the healthcare system and chose another industry that they thought would be more prosperous in a trump administration even.
and not every trump supporter is out there verbally attacking minority groups, walking through their schools yelling "white power" or "build that wall". they aren't circling their school in mass and telling everyone they think don't belong here to go back home....even those who were third or fourth generation american citizens. and they ain't talking about grabbing pussies, leaving black dolls hanging around symbolic of lynching. they're not online talking about tar and feathers..... but.... there have been some!!!

and, just where is our fearless leaders?? Has either clinton or trump come out and told their unruly supporters to knock the crap off!! not really, they've said as little as possible.

I'll say it again, open wounds don't heal if the are constantly being rubbed the wrong way and reopened. and, we have wounds that have been open since the bush years...
weather or not the time is now, or in our near future... sooner or later the choice might be between the olive branches or civil war.

boy, your just flinging the name calling all over the place....
please define for me just who you are talking about here?? just who are the people on the left?

how many of those people that you would define on the left speak out and complain about the idea that they should be passing bills that they didn't have time to read through and understand? how many of those do you think were living in households where husband, wife, or children really didn't feel the same way about the issues as they did and lived normal, semi happy if not happy lives regardless.. personally, I find your statement that I would chose to post abort any of my kids for any reason quite offensive! and, I'll tell you something, one of my sons would have peti-mall siezures when he was young and kind of short circuit when things got too chaotic.... when that happened, he would do some wild and crazy things.... no once did I even consider throwing out of the house, even for a brief time, even though I've been kicked, slapped, and punched.

it's comments like these that keep old wounds open, never healing...

Oh dear. Of course I do. I also saw the same pettiness and arrogance by Obama and supporters after he was elected. And we're seeing it again now after Trump's election. It's been going back and forth for a long time.

or do you suffer from selective memory?

Obviously not. And I really don't know why you think it's appropriate to ask such a snide and condescending question. Especially since my OP clearly calls out the behavior by both parties.

not all those liberals were out there calling you names...

Nor did I ever say they were. So I'm not sure where that came from or what point you were trying to make. In fact I find it odd that you are so snotty to me when I am actually calling out those that you seem to be calling out as well. Makes absolutely no sense... unless you are simply grasping at straws to justify your bad attitude (and possibly behavior.)

... and heck I've been called some rather nasty names along the way that I most definately didn't deserve.

We all have.

not all the protestors out there are rioting, most of them are being rather peaceful about it.

As I have said many times on ATS, and in this thread. I have also pointed out that some proportion -- I believe the most violent -- are paid thugs.

and not every trump supporter...

Again, I made no comments or references to "every" Trump supporter either.

and, just where is our fearless leaders?? Has either clinton or trump come out and told their unruly supporters to knock the crap off!! not really, they've said as little as possible.

As has Obama. And I have not only asked the same question, I have stated that all three should be speaking directly to those protesters.... that a few well chosen words now will go a long way towards calming the current waters and smoothing the path for a peaceful transition.

[quote[I'll say it again, open wounds don't heal if the are constantly being rubbed the wrong way and reopened...

That goes both ways.

...weather or not the time is now, or in our near future... sooner or later the choice might be between the olive branches or civil war.

Only if you choose to let it. We have other options. But if you do choose that path, you can bet that the wounds you are nursing now will be nothing compared to the untold blood, maiming and death that will be inflicted on millions of others.

Is your hurt ego worth more than an entire nation of people??? Choose your battles carefully and wisely.
