I wouldn't call it a high priority or aspiration. Just an honest reaction to the joke Trump is.

I don't think there's anything Trump could do to make me respect him after the hate and divisiveness he campaigned on to get into the white house.

We'll see though. But for now, thats my opinion.

It's in Trump's hands now to prove or disprove your expectations...

Completely correct

The ban hammer is going to fall shortly on the more extreme adolescent gloaters that just want to rub it in with trolling and baiting.
Sadlly it's not just the adolescents; it's once respected members that have gotten caught up in the hatred of the opposition.

This whole gloating BS will change soon to "why can't we all get along"

Keep it up!

That's your Opinion , and you are Entitled to it , but for me , after being Beaten into the Ground Economically and Ideologically from the Policies of the Obama Administration and Liberal Progressive Democrats for THE LAST 8 YEARS , I Cannot bring myself to be so Kind as to Just Forgive and Forget . If this Situation were to have Happen over a 1000 Years Ago , The King and his Kingdom would have been Wiped From the Face of the Earth by the Victors . Lucky for them Civilization has grown since then in Embracing Humanity even with all It's Obvious Faults..

I imagine the ban hammer will fall.

But the ideology that won the election is useless if it immediately starts compromising on the ideals that propelled it to victory in the first place.

He's already started compromisisng with making nice with Clinton, Obama and backing down on the ACA.

This is just the beginning. Wager....

No jail for Clinton...

No lower taxes....

No wall....

No buses deporting anyone....

Not doing much of anything to shake up the status quo.....he is now one of the elite he claimed he hated.

I'll pass, thank you.

A compromised Trump may very well lose him and the GOP the House, Senate, presidency.

It's still a better love story than Hillary.

No one is asking you to. And of course you can do as you choose.

But I'm pretty sure you also know that such verbal bullying serves absolutely no practical or productive or righteous purpose. And it does in fact help the very people who have really created the problems we have. And it really hurts all of us in the end. So don't engage. Don't feed the beast. Don't contribute to the problem and make it worse!

I should also point out that we have been just as screwed by the Republicans -- RINOs if you prefer -- so it's much bigger than Obama and the other party. And that many Democrats are just as disgusted in the extreme faction that has controlled the party for too long -- hence the many so-called Trump Democrats.

I'm not so sure about that. Trump said he would look at the issues Obama raised, and he has said he likes the pre-existng mandate and the college-age children requirement (and I believe he said that before the Obama meeting). That's all the commitment I heard from Trump -- and I've looked for more. Maybe not in the right places, so if you know better please point me in the right direction.

But my point is that I see the media playing more games. By mis-characterizing Trump's words and setting up unrealistic expectations, and when he doesn't fulfill those (unrealistic) expectations, Trump will be characterized as a flip-flop or worse.

Trump has the potential to be great, bring the country together, and open the door to prosperity for everyone but his ego, stubborness, arrogance and lack of experience will either change nothing or make it worse.

The Obama years will be looked upon at as the "Good old days"

However we will be entertained by his bigly Trumpisms and shining countenance.

Bullying the American People for the Last 8 Years by Pissing on the Constitution of the United Stares and the Bill of Rights Cannot be Forgotten that Easily . The Law has been Trashed by Obama and the Democrats , and there should be Hell to Pay for that . There Always must be Consequences for those Who Oppress Others .

For me? It'll be a period where I survived despite governments best intentions.

Yup, it's natural law. For every action, there is a re-action. As we sow, so shall we reap. What comes around, goes around. Judge not, lest ye be judged by the same measure.

Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.

ETA: My bad about your quote -- fixed now. Sorry, Zanti.

The Consequences should be Dealt with by the Law . Let our System of Government Right the Wrongs that have been committed against the American People is All I am Implying here . It can Start that Process by Addressing the Crimes of Hillary Clinton and George Soros .

Do you honestly think Trump is going to live up to his BS campaign promises? How long are you going to give him to live up to his promises?

He's already started on the compromise down slide into Washington elitism. He actually seemed in awe of Obama at their meeting.

Network dude, kets and others..

My initial response is much the same as yours. The response by some on the left makes it nigh impossible to interact on any meaningful level, much less mature.

The actions are even becoming so extreme that a response is necessary (riots..).

But, it hit me.. who is more likely to act like adults in the first place? Not just that, even after things cool off, which group is still going to be as vitriolic and divisive as they were before the election?

As a classical liberal, I am completely willing to state the left in general has jumped the shark. Repeatedly.

But, there are those of us that are getting dragged down by this behavior. It doesn't even matter which "side." Its up to those of us to keep this from turning into a tit for tat that continues to spiral out of control. And waiting for those acting out extremes to change before you do is a recipe for absolute disaster.

I can't say what I think the actual answer is, but I am increasingly certain that meeting the "extremists" on their ground is not it. And if some are to take the high road, I think its glaringly obvious who is more capable of it.

" How long are you going to give him to live up to his promises? "

Well , the American People have given him a Mandate of 4 Years to Address these Problems . How about we Wait Until then Before Passing Judgement on the Man ? Your Preconceived Notions of what he Will do or Will Not Do are Irrelevant Right Now considering it will be 68 Days before he even has a Chance to Tackle them , Oh Ye Of Little Faith !

after 8 years of Obama and people are still blaming Bush and giving Obama a pass.

Trump hasn't even sworn in and people are calling his term a failure.

I can see quite obviously that there is going to be a bias here and in the future.

Knowing how President Elect Trump Thinks , and the Obvious Pride he takes in his Ability to Reason when Confronted with a Problem , I Doubt Very Much he will Resort to Blaming a Past Administration for the Challenges he may or may Not Conquer when faced with them . He Will take the Blame or the Praise if it comes . A Big Difference Between Him and Bush and Obama .

Now, I will say that I have not gone anywhere and said, "Trump won, suck it!"

I did get into a discussion where someone who has doubted Trump voters have any humanity at all was asking for us to reconcile and asked after the repeated doubting of our humanity we should play nice.

Mainly because I wanted to genuinely know why someone who has repeatedly been verbally abusive and denigrating deserves that kind of consideration from the ones he/she had spent so much time abusing.

We never got beyond that point because I never got an answer.
