Peter was the one who was willing to protect Jesus from arrest and cut off the Centurion's ear earning a rebuke of adversary from Jesus, so at what point does Peter show he is unreliable, is it when he defended Jesus or did what he was told to do?

Just after that actually...

And He told peter it would happen

3 x

I don't really think it matters to this conversation how many times he was to he was to deny him.

The point is he was TOLD he WAS going to do it. He wasn't told about it to stop him but so he WOULD do it, and NOT DIE.

It was strategic.

My other point that he was ready to defend to the death the Messiah was just to show you he was not of a cowardly disposition at all, and this earned him a rebuke which was because Jesus had a plan and it was to get crucified.

So it's no surprise that Peter listened to Jesus and denied him, as told, because he was rebuked for defending him and told to deny him.

THREE times.

Now let's talk about who the first Apostle to see Jesus ressurected was, which was Peter who was the the second person and first man to see the ressurected Jesus.

Now I would say the first person to see him ressurected was the ''Beloved disciple" and that her identity is disguised by calling her a he, for whatever reason but probably to hide the fact that Jesus had a special relationship with Miriam.

The second person was Cephas, the Rock the Church was built on before the ascendancy of Pauline theology, which even Peter called nonsensical in his second epistle, disputed though it may be and translated softly to "hard to understand."

Peter taught exactly what Christ taught him to teach and through the Holy Spirit. He was one of the good guys, I think your low opinion of him lacks understanding.

Hell Peter even briefly walked on water, which shows him in the process of learning to work miracles and though he sinks to display he still has some ways to go, he still walked on water, which means more than his sinking, as they say "Rome wasn't built in a day."

But I really think you just don't like Peter because you don't understand the narrative of the Gospel or something because there is no reason not to like Jesus appointed "Rock" or Cephas in Aramaic, metaphorically meaning foundation stone.

Jesus seemed to think highly of Peter, as is apparent in his renaming him Cephas as a symbol that Peter/Simon/Cephas was the Rock on which his Church was built.

I sense some Pauline bias has crept into your view of the 12 Apostles, like Paul you feel you understand Jesus' message better than his Apostles and don't care for Peter, whom Paul also disliked because Peter was the TRUE Apostle to the goyim, even according to Acts which is supposedly written by Luke who was allegedly Paul's disciple and would be expected to support Paul's stance that he was said Apostle, though Paul was not even an Apostle.

Even Luke respected Peter and portrayed him honestly, a clear sign of respect for Peter saying God chose him to be the Apostle to the goyim.

The only person who agrees with you Biblically would be Paul. Are you a closet Paulinist?

That's really odd that you think Jesus somehow chose the wrong man, or that the man he chose was wrong for the job.

But using an unnamed, only mentioned in the Gospel of John-character that nobody knows the identity of, to suggest that John was superior to Peter, lacks all logic and makes no sense whatsoever.

It's grasping at straws and because you have a thing for Peter and don't understand the reasons why you don't like him, because he was told to do something and did it you count it against him.

You should be focused on how hard it must have been for the zealous Peter to follow those orders, and not view it as cowardly.

That sounds like a lack of perspective, big picture misunderstanding of a problem.

And his peers would also disagree with you as they understood.

You are thinking small picture and holding an unnecessary grudge born out of misunderstanding.

You shouldn't assume...

It has nothing to do with Paul... Just read the gospels... theres many times where they didn't have a clue what he was talking about

LMAO!!

the rest is just rambling... no reply needed

Nothing I said was rambling, it all had a clear point and made perfect sense.

You can't claim that just because the process of educating the Apostles was not immediate that they didn't understand, that's bad logic.

I'm flattered that you find what I say hard to understand or "rambling."

Because I do understand what I said and know better, which makes it a compliment, I thank you for not understanding.

Are we still talking about what God looks like? I didn't read all of the last several comments but it seems to have gotten way off track. Maybe I am wrong. Anyway... I can't describe what God must look like because there are no words great enough! But I do know that when I want to see God, I look around at the beauty of nature, I look into a little kids innocent eyes, I look at the creatures that he created...

My 2 cents for what it's worth

Your attempts to insult me for being a Muslim are despicable, your claim that I have a simple mentality is laughable and born out of anger from the fact that a Muslim corrected you.

I've only known two Muslims in my life. Both were very nice and I would consider them equals too any of my other friends.

You do understand the the people posting here know about Jesus. And that your position is Jesus in the "one". We all here know that already and choose to believe what we believe. Your incessant repetition is unnecessary since we fully understand your simple point of view.

What is God's appearance? I am talking about the creator God of Genesis, YHVH or El Elyon. Most depictions appear to show him as an old man with a beard sitting on the clouds. I am wondering how accurate such a depiction is. Is there anything written which gives a description of God's appearance?
......He's an abstract objective reality, he not subject to a form....it's like asking what does hope look like? how big is hope?....

Next Time Use A Different Analogy. Hope... While Hidden From You... Is Actually Belonging To A Woman. Hope Definition Is: "There Is Naught Now But Courage And Bravery And Trust In It, No Matter Conclusion!"

I see you're not as objective as I perceived, wise in you own conceit would be more accurate...Hope is an expectation actually, but nevertheless I am somewhat curious, why do you believe that hope (conceptual by nature) belongs to a woman? It's obvious that you are insecure when concerning the subject matter about God, you wouldn't be insecure about what you do happen to accept to be true about reality are you?

I am many things....
Even in conceit. Forgive.....
I just hate... at times... my fellow man's attempts to entreat us all.
Sometimes... hope is more than we can dare.

I learned she is to kept in the heart like an arrow to the knee.
To hold her that she alone may protect me... and save me.
That no matter what.... I hold true.

And all she is is just bravery, courage, heroism, etc......

Holding my own in many many fights.....

John observes that "no man has ever seen God" (John ch1 v18). In fact it would be impossible for any human to take in the full reality of the Biblical God.
When people in the Bible "see God", the most they get is an image accomodating itself to their understanding, in order to give them a sense of "being in the presence of God". It is a kind of filter. That is why the Biblical visions vary so much.

True but, many seem to be assuming that he's subject to a form.

He believe the Quran to be accurate and without error but the preserved by God Holy Bible he does not.

He believes Allah and Jesus Christ, God Almighty, the Lord of Hosts to be the same person.

Don't you believe that the Holy Bible is without error? That it is the preserved word of God?
What's the difference? They're both the scribblings and primitive ideas of people who had no idea of anything we know now --

There is a HUGE disconnect from the dark ages (3rd - 12th centuries) to now.

Neither of you are correct. Do you really not see that?

You see, before Rome invaded and conquered all those people and stole their land and forced them to conform and "assimilate" to 'Christianity', those people were pagans. They did stuff like seasonal festivals (harvest, spring equinox, dead of winter, midsummer)......

you know, maypoles, and yule logs, and samhain (halloween), and imbolc (easter)........

all of that was deliberately included in the Roman Catholic Church's RITUALS, because that was the only way they could attract customers -------

BUT YET in the Bible they don't explain one tiny shred of why those things are traditional and constant since the dawn of civilization ------- Or WHY THEY ARE PRACTICED BY "CHRISTIANS" NOW.....

so - lots of you don't know that.

You aren't aware that pagan festivals and rituals are the very things you honor when you do christmas and easter bunnies and eggs and palm sunday and groundhog day and the fourth of july and maypoles and harvest hayrides and haunted houses and jackolanterns and witches

You have NO IDEA where those things came from.

And you know what else came from the same place??????????

BIRTHDAYS.

Yeah. Chew on that.
If you all want to be ever-so-pious, you need to become JWs. If you reject the JW thing, then just dump religion altogether. It's all fantasy.

AGNOSTICISM FOR THE WORLD.
wouldn't the correct statement be you "feel" that it's fantasy by what you've determined?

Within the Christian mythology, isnt man made in the image of god?

Also he has a throne he sits on and he walked the garden of eden.

He looks just like a human.
