I’m sorry I don’t wish to make you the focus. We all need to stay on topic this includes me. I said what I did because I felt anger in your posts, as a Christian I don’t like to see that. It’s not my place to judge, I just wanted to say what I thought. Nothing else.

Stop referring to me as "the Wiccan"! I have a name here, I go by LadyV

keeps trying to quote the Bible and has no idea what she is talking about.

Once again research it for yourself...don't take my word for it!

Witches praying to GOD and the Bible saying nothing about homosexuality. How did I get to be the focus?

Who do you think we pray to!?
You under a lot of delusions about my faith...IO think it is you that knows nothing of Wicca I also never said the bible says nothing about homsexuality...get the facts right...we were talking about lesbianism during that

You also called me a freak.....and you said I had to be gay because I defend them

I am addressing you because you are speaking as a Christian. I would like to think and be correct, that Christians act with kindness. Lady V has said things I have disagreed with, and I have said so. She has not really been hateful. There have been others that have been quite rude, but, that isn't really my issue

I think Christians do need to turn the cheek more often and spread what we believe in a positive manner. Not tear down those we disagree with. I can tell you I fall way short of perfect. It isn't up to me to judge others. It isn't up to me to bash people over the head with what I may very well believe to be wrong

Kindness wins over hate every time

I'm quoting the thread authors entire opening post so that we can reread it allowing us to stay on topic.

If you really look at the bible, does it not seem laughable? Just as witches do now adays, to most people.

Back in the day, we didn't understand, so we had to find some reason for weird occurances, witchcraft / black magic, of course that must be the answer! kinda relative to the bible don't you think?

The earth to me, is a freak accident. In the billions and billions of galaxies and solar systems, there has to be atleast 1 anomoly from the norm.

(Maybe our universe is actually just someones carpet? Once you get small enough everything looks the same. Just different scales.)

I hate noone,,, I disagree with alot said here. You will win noone to Christ with Pacifism. If the Christians on this site are truly Christians,,,,, then show your opinion on the topic,,, " Witches ". Stop ridiculing fellow Christians. It is almost as if you are afraid to share your opinion on the subject if you are truly Christians. Ladyv seems to be one of the only ones here that will truly speak her mind on the subject. I may be crude at times, but I can respect her conviction and dedication. Don't get me wrong, I love everyone,,,, I like debating, but I get out of hand and hard to deal with from time to time. The pacifism is not gonna cut it.

How is it you are winning this debate? What is your goal when you speak? What price is your conviction? Does it just prove that Christians are all bigots and closeminded?? Or would you think winning would be showing God's love?

To stay slightly on topic, the reason I feel that religion is not outdated FOR ME is the amazing peace and comfort it brings. The blessings my life has. It isn't like my life is without strife, I have my share. Calling on God for peace does just that. I feel deep calming peace.

I remember when I was a teenager and had not done many of the less than stellar things I have at this point. Going to young life and being around other likeminded kids was almost a high in itself. I truly wish I had made better choices in my life.

Nothing has ever given me the comfort and peace faith has. Sharing that kind of thing will win over people to your viewpoint much quicker than condemnation

Have you read any of the other religious threads here? There are many, many debates...everyone voices their opinion....as to me being the only one allowed to....I am, most certainly nothing special around here at all. just the opposite, and I have received warnings before....I'm a true ATSer...LOL

I think I have said way more than my share!!! You didn't answer any of the questions I asked of you though.

I may win no one, but hopefully I won't alienate anyone either.

Ladyv, he is addressing me. I am a bunny hugger now

first people believed in stones, when they found out it's nothing, couple of religious guys who wanted to have control over others decided that fire is god, then people found out that fire is not god, then they came up with thing that cannot be found out, air, god is somewhere out there, when u die you will know, but while you are alive, worship your god, hmm ok... your god tells you to attack other religions, especially their leaders, cause we.....urm sorry god, doesn't like other religions.

If you go to some bushmen, and live like a month, you will see they will worship every air plane that will fly over them, thinking it's god, and if you tell them otherwise, they will kill you.

CyberGhost - exactly. ...except the part about the bushmen.

The first god was probably a mushroom. ... Then it became the sun. But once humanity figured out...oh....it's just a sun. It can't be god. ... how can we change this so God is God and cannot be confused...OH lets make him no where but everywhere. Then no one can prove he doesnt exist.

Once we find out what made the universe the universe...do you think God will still be God or do you think he will graduate to something else. Haha after we figure out why the universe is the universe, God will become to universe. But with waring religious idiots (Bush...Hmm only one I can think of, well...only one that is an idiot) I doubt we will get that far.

Its funny how things change overtime. Life style, Technology, the world. Yet religion still has stuck around. I think it is because we as humans, with an imagination (Imagination = Intelligence), we are scared of death, scared we are not a special little creation being watched over, we need hope in that this life is not in vain. But, we are animals, we live to prolong the species, nothing more, nothing less.

There are no animals in heaven. I haven't seen any pictures of heaven with plants (well they are alive too), with animals, with dinosaurs...Yes, they should be there too. Dinosaurs were Gods beta version of life

If I have repeated myself, it is because I am stupid.

WTF is bunny hugging? I never heard that term, are you reffering to the fuzzy little bunny with a pancake on his head? Also, it was I who reffered to the bbile as useful as toilet paper, which is really useful if you think about it, unless you have one of those squirty things. But the bible isn't even complete, as people have told you, there are entire books missing, thrown out by the church. Hell, some are really good, explain what happened to the good people who died before Jesus was born, what Jesus did when growing up, stuff like that. If they had left those books in there would be alot more christians for they would have explained all the questions people have.

And please stop calling her, "the wiccan", rather deal with a wiccan then a bigot christian, at least the wiccan wouldn;t be tempted to burn me at a stake for sneezing on a thursday or for whistling while doing the moonwalk in front of a church or some other stupid rules the bible has. Witchcraft, Wicca, Paganism is a hell of alot better then some montheistic religon that has lead to wars, slaughters, massacers, and hatred for past 1500 years. Also, how is it a oxymoron for a Wiccan to worship god? They have a god, Hurn, along with the Goddess. Hurn is sun, animals, male, hunting. Why he has antlers(sometimes horns) and hooves for he was animals and hunting, so his image represents that, while the goddess is a woman, sometimes young, sometimes old, and while usually beautiful is sometimes large due to all the life she has given(you think a woman gets big after giving birth to 2-3 kids, try giving birth to life itself).

Anyways, can't insult the bible, the bible is a book, it has no feelings. If you are insulted by the truth, well, sorry. And just because someone like LadyV, or me, or anyone else, defend gays and their right to live without fear of being hunted down and killed doesn't me we are gay, it means we don't judge people.

That's where you are wrong,,,, the Bible states that they thought he was a ghost until he approaches them,,,,, get your facts straight.
They thought did they? The excuse then is that because he in your eyes is God, he has exclusive right to not be interpreted as a ghost. Isn't that convenient?

Dear man, since you seem so defensive, I will take a firm stand right now. Do not argue scripture with me, your robes are no defence, in fact they are your hindrance, especially when you take that tone.

Now then, which of these do you wish to make your argument, choose one, either one.

Was he alive?

Mark 16:16:..and they they saw that he was alive...

Luke 24:30...as he sat at meat with them...

Luke 24:36 ...Jesus himself stood in the midst of them...

luke 24;39 behold my hands and my feet, that is I myself...for a spirit hath not flesh and bones...

Or dead?

24:15 ...Jesus himself drew near...but their eyes were holden so that they should not know him.

Luke 24:5...why seek ye the living among the dead?...

Mark: 16:12 and that he appeared in another form...

Luke 24;21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have

Luke 24:30...and he vanished...

Luke 24:36:37 ...Jesus himself stood in the midst of them...But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed they had seen a spirit...

Luke 24:46...and thus it behoved Christ to rise from the dead...

Those are but a few, and notice I haven't mentioned your saviour Paul yet and his cavorting with the dead, which is akin to mediums today telling you they can speak with the dead. So, you think carefully about your argument, I will be particularly tough on you since you played your robe card so heavy- handidly.

lets start with a few quotes from some other sources.
Hypostasis of the Arcons,

[ because of his] power and his ignorance [and his arrogance]
he said..., " It is I who am God; there is none [other apart from
me]." When he said this he sinned against [the Entirety]. And
a voice came forth from above the realm of absolute power,
saying, " You are mistaken, Samael," which means " god of the blind"

On the Origin of the World
... he boasted continually, saying to (the angels)... I am God, no other
one exists except me." But When he said these things, he sinned
against all of the immortal ones... when Faithsaw the impiety of the chief ruler,
she was angry.... she said, "You err, Samael (blind god)." An enlightened,
immortal humanity exists before you.

Secret Book of John

in his madness ... he said, "I am God and there is no other God beside me,"
for he is ignorant of ... the place from which he had come.... And when he saw
the creation which surrounds him and the multitudes of angels around him
which had come forth from him, he said to them, " I am a jelous God, and there
is no other God beside me." But by announcing this he indicatedto the angels that
another God does exist; for if there were no other one, of whom would he be
jealous?

there is another quote that I dont have at hand right now from Pistis Sophia
i think where Jesus says" there will be those who because they believe in the name of a dead man think they will be saved. they are wrong.

we stopped believing in Ra, and Jupiter/Zeus

please define who you mean by "WE'

Some of the answers are interesting, since the eyewitness accounts to Jesus’ works number at best only three.

please provide these eyewitness accounts.

There is nothing deleted from the Bible,,,, and what in the world are you talking about reincarnation? You are not seriously about to tell me that the Bible talked about reincarnation at some point are you?

as has been stated several times, Yes the was reference to reincarnation.
i believe Lady V is incorrect in who removed the references i think it was Justinian. but I could be wrong. as for deletions there have been many.
the most commonly referenced one i believe is the " lost Gospel of Mark
found by Morton Smith in the 50s and referenced by as i recall Ireaneus
in the second century.

The Bible is the inspired word of GOD. Do you really think GOD would give us his word to follow and allow it to be translated incorrectly. Don't think so.

so you are saying that if it is not contained between the covers of the bible
it never happened right?

Dee , just a point of fact at the time of the formation of the colonies and the founding of this country The RCC had no sway in England it was The Anglican
church. as a matter of fact by the conditions of the Act of Settlement of 1701
No Catholic/Papist could hold public office or assend to the throne. this was established during the reign of His Most Protestant Majesty William of Orange.
what ever school you went to i might suggest a return trip.

You have gone crazy,,,,,

IMHO it is you that have made that very short trip

I would also respectfully request when you refer to "the wiccan " you please
specify which of us you are refering to.
it is because of people like you that I love Wolves so much.

This country is founded on Freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM it.

actually i think the spirit of that part of the constitution is exactly
Freedon of Religion is also Freedom from Religion

I do not understand how in the world you or anyone else can dignify or rationalize witchcraft with explanations of medicine and aid. That is absurd. The Bible clearly states to avoid witchcraft, do not conjure spirits or consult mediums and so forth and so forth.

So what has christianity done for medicine and aid every? From my current knoewledge medicine comes from alchemy which yes would of been considerd magic at the time, and would of been thought of as a witch. Alchemists were also empolyed by the state, to help heals people and other reasons. So this is another time the bible that claims to do everything shows that it doesnt do much at all. One more down for religion.

You have spoken no truth. You are as blind as the rest of the wiccans on here. If you are ashamed to be called a Wiccan then perhaps you need to reevaluate your life. I am not ashamed of being called a Christian,,,, and you call me a bigot for thinking you are wrong? I received a warning from this site for refering to a homosexual as a fruit, but you can call me a bigot and run me down and get away with it?! You people need to stop for a second, take time out from worshiping the moon or sun, time out from making up more gods, and do a gut check. You believe that you can do or say anything and get away with it because all the freakin liberals in this country will cry and gripe and moan until you get your way.
You need to get your business straight with GOD, and not some straw god or god of crayons, but the one true GOD Jehova.

You are another one on here that needs to get your business straight with GOD and then get your facts straight. You can not compare the happenings of the Bible with the workings of a witch. Take a stand all you want, that's great.
