They made their way across one of the many soft grassy plains of Acassia; small yellow flowers dotted the landscape, nary a tree in sight though there were several small shrubs growing randomly amidst the long grass, and upon the distant horizon they could see the vague outline of mountains. It was towards these mountains that Kaelci and Darien were travelling.

As they walked through the long grasses of the Acassian plains they could see the faraway silhouettes of wyverns flying high above, soaring through the sky and seemingly dancing about the clouds, and the distinctive chirp of crickets began to echo about them as the sun began to descend behind the distant mountains.

The sun seemed to set faster than normal this evening, darkness was quick to descend upon the land, and the chirping insects suddenly fell into an unnatural silence. Darien and Kaelci travelled together hand in hand, and though they were mere centimetres away from one another, the darkness was soon so complete they could barely glimpse the other’s figure within. They continued walking in this intense blackness, though it soon felt that they were walking through the blackness, the air about them feeling heavier, denser, with each passing step.

Darien suddenly halted and pulled Kaelci close to him, he spoke loudly but his words sounded as though they were arriving from miles away as Kaelci struggled to hear him through the thick and strangely viscous darkness.

“I haven’t seen this for quite some time… but, dear lady… we seem to have walked straight into another realm.”

“Well, how about we turn around and simply… walk out the way we entered?”

“Hah! I forget that you’re still so young. It won’t quite be that easy, young miss…”

Kaelci sighed heavily, the reverberations of the expulsion disappearing instantly into the nothingness. She had dreamt of another adventure, had been looking forward to more stories that she would one day look back on, but she was utterly sick of darkness seeming to appear wherever she would go. First there was the issue of traversing the dark and inhospitable cave system, then the situation of Azothinne the Spider Lord and his consort Sita coating the land in an ill darkness, and recently she had dreamt strange nightmares of an evil wizard coating the land in darkness before repainting all with an illusory enchantment… and now here they were, trapped in what appeared to be a realm of solid black.

Rolling her green eyes upward, though she knew that the motion would remain unseen, Kaelci tightened her grip on Darien’s hand and spoke most irritably.

“Can’t we just perform some magic and whisk ourselves away from this desolate place!?”

“Nope!”

“Wait…! What was that?”

As she had rolled her eyes upward she had seen a glimmer of red shining through the darkness. She squinted her eyes, a futile action given the black that surrounded her, and could make out nothing more than this unclear red glow in the distance, close to where the mountains had originally been before the darkness coated them.

The red glow was an ominous sight within this realm of blackness, but there was apparently nothing else they could do, nor was there any other evident direction in which they could travel. So together they slowly forced themselves to slog through the thick and unpleasant darkness and compelled themselves to move towards whatever that eerie beacon in the distance could be.

Oh, you guys can shorten it however you like. Shep works, so does PS. If you're feeling adventurous you can just type Prairie, but all the a's and i's make it annoying to type, IMO.

Nothing exciting cooking tonight I'm afraid - burgers & hot dogs with some chips & cheese on the side. Maybe I'll season the burgers with pixie dust & see what happens.

Publisher, huh? I'm sure I have a copy of that laying around here somewhere. I seem to recall making a Valentine's Day card for Mrs. Shepherd on Publisher one year... hm...

It's kind of funny RE: cooking - I was the weenie scrawny kid when I was young. When all the other boys were playing street football I was learning how to cook dinner with my mother. Of course, when all of them became meatheads, I was making homemade gourmet lasagna with white & red sauces for an absolutely stunning young lady...

I have not read carlos' work but i believe resonance had some factoring into how we were mutaly able to see each other. Something had to resonate between us two to allow enough energies to build up initoate the brief cross over or shared existance.

Tell me more about your insight. Im always open to learn and consider multiple possibilities as the explanation.

Also id like to hear about your experiences if you feel like sharing. Either in the shed or via PM. ☺

Well, I have been working on two different ideas. It's the time of year that is inspiring to be sure although...

one of the ideas was inspired by Martin. Here's a short excerpt.

He awoke from his slumber in the pitch dark of the blackened chamber. The deep and rhythmic breathing of his companions could be heard over the low hum of the air conditioner emanating from the far side of the room. A sliver of light shone from under the door illuminating the corners of the beds and cots that had been placed side by side. Rubbing his eyes and trying to bring the rest of the room into focus he slipped from under the covers of his rack and hopped to the floor. Feeling the blood begin to race through his veins, the anticipation of the day ahead caused a fire within his core to ignite with excitement and his pace quickened as he made his rounds, from bed to bed, waking the others.

I hope the dreaded 'block' doesn't get me!

Paul was a single dad for 10 years before I came along so he was used to cooking. I struggle boiling water...so he cooks

I had an out of body experience as a teen. At first it scared the hell out of me and I thought I was dead. When I looked and saw myself on my bed, it freaked me out so much, I ended up back in my body! The next day however, I thought WOW, that was friggin awesome! LOL To anyone who hasn't experienced such a thing they may look at us like...um, yeah, ok, right, whatever you say.

An inversion is almost the exact term and phrasing i was origionally going to use in my post.

You and i think similarly!😃 i knew thete was a reason i like ya so much. Well that and tiddles. That car truly is awesome.

As far as him being a light being. Its possible. I am currently pretty damned interested in Quantum Electro Dynamics and photon emission in the vacuum and how to get fermions to behave massless and much like light. Maybe thats the way advanced beings explore the universe. Alter their refraction indicies so that they dont interact with the EM virtual waveform (the vacuum) and dont have mass. And thus are able to travel faster than C without incurring the penalties special relativity would impose.

Youve given me some food for thought.

Please don't worry about a "late reply" the Shed is timeless, and I am so terribly assertive that I would have asked if you had read my inquiry.
I am terribly shy about my encounters, so sharing is like pulling teeth.

I think you would like the works of Carlos, I highly recommend them to any one who wishes to expand their conscience.
The first books are a tad boring, but then if one has the patience it is rewarding.
Pardon me, but you were 15 in 1951, that adds up to 70. Jeez you can call age rank here any time, and I must say I have found you very youthful.

Hey shepherd!!

Never talked before so howdy!!!

Hawking radiation.....intetesting. Maybe were all singularities with two sides. In our universe we appear as some sort of equivalent of of hawking radiation. And in the other like black holes.

Light travels simultaneously from the object emitting it to the observer and from the observer back in time to the emitter. So as you observe a inbound photon you believe it or not are emitting a time reverse photon back towards the emitter. Maybe there was some sorta weirdness going on and i was seeing those photons instead of the time positive ones.

Not sure what tine reversed photons look like but i know a member here who built something veeeery interesting for the govt that utilizes them. Ill ask him his opinion. As for what that very interesting thing was. Wont discuss it a its a classified weapon of mass destruction thats superseded atomic weapons using phase conjugation voodoo. Discussing it in any detail is a no no.

On a bright note, I came home today after another ten hour day to find my lawn mowed by a dear friend. She sheepishly said she hoped she hadn't "killed" one of my many projects.
I cried. That was so kind of her.
Some times people are just wonderful.

Ok now to type up my next story. Its a type B (heard but didnt see a possible sasquatch) encounter while fishing in the souther sierras.
