I watched it several times. The encounter between violent nutbar and the man he assaulted lasted 2 seconds. So maybe you can explain at what point in the video he was 'being a dick'.

To all those who say that the guy who got punched didn't provoke anything, it's perfectly feasible that he said something offensive quietly, almost under his breath. The guy who punched him was in the right position to physically hear such a statement, and the reaction, the speed of the reaction, tells me that this guy said something pretty damn offensive to initiate the reaction from the praying guy.

And just so you know, Christians aren't perfect. In fact, that's kind of the whole point of the religion. It's incredibly rare that a Christian would react like this to anyone, but it's not very surprising that the first evidence we see of something like this has occurred in France. They've been under severe pressure as a nation recently, with all the terror incidents, and it's therefore not very surprising that the cracks are beginning to show. Anyone can crack under pressure, even Christians. If this guy walked up to the prayer meeting & said something incredibly disrespectful, then it's quite understandable that a Frenchman would react like this.

Anyone who claims that this is evidence of Christian hypocrisy, or 'Islamophobia', doesn't have the requisite intelligence to assess the context of the situation which plays out.

You could easily see he was a Muslim due to the large letter 'M' on his forehead. Then again, The 'M' could stand for 'Mug'?

At least Christians don't pretend there religion is about peace, good to see people making excuses for violence.

There's a video of a 'US soldier' doing a USA anthem guitar solo during Muslim prayer in Afghanistan. I notice no muslim gets up and smacks him.

So if a (so called) Muslim gets smacked for allegedly playing music when Christians pray, then it's "Go christianity, boo Islam" - and if a US soldier plays music loudly during a Muslim prayer in a Muslim country, then it's "Go USA, boo Islam"...

I can't think of one good reason to justify people becoming violent over a prayer. They got interrupted while talking to themselves in public. It's not a big deal. People attacking each other over imaginary rulers is going to be a big problem in the future. Those without morals or principles may justify it on grounds that they have a personal genie that requires pleasing, but it's still wrong.

Apparently the guy was really annoying the praying peeps with loud music from his phone.

Having said that:
