I can fix the illegal issue much cheaper. No wall needed.
Just make it illegal to hire them. Anybody employing someone without the proper paperwork is fined $10k.
Get caught twice, 5 years in prison.
Shouldn't take much to iron out the details.

EXACTLY!

I wrote a thread on this a couple of years ago. If we started to fine/imprison employers it would end very quickly. The politicians know this would work, Trump knows this would work. No need to spend billions on a wall that in all probability won't work, as the number of illegals that come in that way is small compared to the number that just fly or drive in. If TPTB wanted to end illegal immigration, they COULD. The truth is its just a hot button issue designed to get votes, they dont want to end a limitless supply of cheap labor, it doesn't serve their interests in the least.

There's already laws on the books about that. The issue is in catching the employers who hire illegals. Enforcement is the current problem, not a lack of laws.

He's right. If you can't fix a problem your best bet is to ignore it until it goes away. Worked for the.. Someone I'm sure.

1. deport any illegal with a criminal record. much easier politically. causes self deportation

2. use the Arizona law as a template nationwide. The data is there, it worked. Add a sunset provision on said act to prevent possible future add on abuse.

3. As I have pointed out before, current fruit and veggies that are labor intensive would go up in price; much of that land would be converted to crops which have high calories per acre, which most fruits and veggies do not. Corn, soybeans and potatoes(white and sweet) would replace this. price per calorie could easily decrease.

The cries I hear about some fruits and veggies go up in price are from people who at 30/hr still wouldnt go out and work on the farm. From their ivory tower office pushing papers ranting about the benefits of immigrant serfs working for min wage for their precious spices and exotic fruits.

You sure provided me with an eye opening post. After watching the Morgan Spurlock video I find I must reconsider a whole lot of issues.

So your solution is that the US gives up fruits and vegetables in our diet in favor of more grains?

And what's wrong with passing up $30/hour? Any other career has actual potential well above that, but if you're picking fruits and vegetables your only real advancement is to be the manager of a crew. It's also a job that doesn't give you time to learn new, actual skills to do something else, and a job that WILL be phased out by automation eventually. Simply getting around the median wage isn't a good trade off.

Except the reptilian thing never was a metaphor.

This ignores the history of reptilian aliens in ufology and abduction literature. You'll find any number of people having experienced such things right here on ATS.

On this Issue , Mr. Trump will have to Change his Thinking . Build the Wall , Prevent ANY More Illegals from entering the Country , then Offer those that are Already here the Chance to Become Tax Paying Citizens . That is the Only Logical Solution to Illegal Immigration in America Today .
