"Alt-Right" is just a tag they've worked up in order to divide, isolate, marginalise, and ridicule their opponents. If you control the label, you can control what that label means and to whom it is applied. You can then wave off their arguments because "oh they're just the Alt-Right, we all know they're a bunch of racists, it would be morally wrong to dignify them by acknowledging their existence, etc".
It's a time-honoured technique, building on similar principles to Trump's "nicknames" for opponents.
Notorious white supremacist Richard Spencer coined the term “alternative right” (now shortened to “alt-right” because alternative is a pretty large word for white supremacists to remember) in 2010.
Spencer is upset because Hillary Clinton correctly labeled him as a vile racist in her speech yesterday, and now he’s demanding that she apologize to “European Americans.” littlegreenfootballs.com...
White nationalist Richard Spencer has launched a new site to promote his “academic” brand of racism: Alternative Right - An Online Magazine of Radical Traditionalism.
We’re not talking Stormfront here, with neo-Nazi troglodytes tossing around the ‘N’ word with abandon. Spencer and his cohorts are slicker than that. Their twisted breed of white supremacism masquerades as intellectualism. These “racialists” (as they sometimes call themselves) use the scientific-sounding phrase “human biological diversity” to make their argument: that whites (and Asians) are inherently, genetically superior to other races. littlegreenfootballs.com...

Again, Chris Wallace, Fox News. All the so-called "hard questions" were asked.
At a press conference, Clinton would choose who got to ask questions.
Are you really naive enough to think she would call on anyone that would ask a question she wasn't prepped for?
Wow.
Trump looked like a "world leader" to you? Standing beside the Mexican flag while the Mexican President refuted and denied every spurious claim that Trump has ever made, TO HIS FACE, and Trump stood there and nodded?
There wasn't even a US flag there.
He didn't look like a President ... he looked like a kid that was being made to stand in front of the class.

Look I get it...
Trump told you Mexico is evil and Mexicans are rapists so you ran around this board parroting his opinion and lusting over him "telling it how it is".
Once again Trump has changed his mind and now Mexico is great and Mexicans are our friends so you are running around praising his "diplomacy".
I know you guys really don't like Trump, but you've argued too long and hard over all these threads that you are now just trying to save face.
Trump won't build the wall, it will be "just a metaphor" by the time elections come round. Trump won't be tough on deals as he clearly clams up under direct pressure. Trump won't stay un-PC because he's now apologising for upsetting people.
I know this isn't the Trump you wanted, but put on a brave face, re-do your makeup to hide the tears and get back out in the forums and promote Trumps only policy.... "but but Hillary".

So just to make sure my notes are up to date, Hillary has replaced her 'vast right wing conspiracy' scapegoat with this fringe 'alt right' twitter scapegoat?

Who guys? I've only just taken an open, notable position on Hilary/Trump this past month'ish. Didn't even follow the election until this summer. In fact going by the deceptive MSM headlines this spring, I had beLIEved that it was Trump people rioting at the Trump rallies (as weird as that sounds). In June I finally got around to looking into the matter and come to find out it was the pRegressives at the rallies assaulting people and rioting.
