Paying for the wall will be done with tariffs.

No it won't. Mexican businesses will look at the higher cost of doing business with the US and might look to other markets.

A perfect example is taxes in the US. American businesses looked at them and compared them to moving abroad and shipping products in and decided to leave.

The same thing may happen with tariffs. If it costs more to ship to the US than to sell to South America, Europe or Asia then the choice is easy.

No. Most drugs that cross the southern border do so at the points of entry or through tunnels. You can hide it or simply pay agents off and drive it right through or use tunnels. Tunnels can move tons of drugs on rails almost non stop. Cartels do not waste time on sending a few guys wandering through the desert hoping to avoid the border patrol. The new up and comer are drones. A wall will no more slow down drugs than it will illegals. A wall is trying to solve a 21st century problem with obsolete solution.

Wow..this guy (Trump) is one energetic individual isn't he! He's making a major immigration speech a few hours later, from Phoenix, Arizona. Poor lethargic Hillary can only look on, in envy.

Trump is acting Presidential as #. Milwaukee, Louisiana, Detroit and now Mexico. All places we have yet to see Hillary show her face, instead she is bedridden hiding from the scandals and having a mental breakdown over which leak will come out next.

This is confirmed and is happening today - he is flying in for a brief visit with Mexican govt officials.
Of course, it's all for optics, but the Mexicans had to accept.

Trump certainly is nailing the campaign at the moment.
LA Times now has Trump over 3 points up, and Reuters is now level (having been +12 Clinton 2 weeks ago)
If he comes out with any good words from Mexico after that meeting, then it will help him... it's a double-edged sword, though; they might hammer him after the session.

And your solution is?

Or are you saying that America just has to live with the reality that the cartels are in charge, and there's nothing that can be done to slow the drug trade?

BTW...a properly constructed and manned will stem the open flow of millions of people back and forth across the border. Regular people still use their feet and travel above ground.

Trump is actually putting forth the effort...He's reaching out...and he's pounding the pavement. Give him some credit.

Hillary?...Not so much...She's running out the clock...pretty much in hiding.

He really has no business meeting with President Nieto about US policies. He holds no office. 'Pounding the pavement'? If he wanted to meet with him he wouldn't say it the day before. It is to get himsef into the 24 hr news cycle.

If he released to the press this was already in the works. Just bigger impact if he makes it seem it's last minute. Anointing it a month ago doesn't make thr news cycle.

Trump is certainly shining the spotlight on the bias that exists in the media and society.
He doesn't reach out to black voters, he's racist. He reaches out to black voters, he's racist. He doesn't reach out to Mexico, he's racist. He goes to Mexico, he's racist. If he builds a wall, he's racist and it won't work anyway. If he doesn't build a wall, he's a con man.
There are going to be some heads exploding before long.

Trump wanted this to happen. This shows strong leadership on his part and that he gives zero fuks or fear that hes going into the Lions den so to speak. I think this meeting is going to boost Trump's vote tenfold no matter what happens. Do you think Hillary would go meet with a foreign leader on their own turf after she has chastised them? Nope.

The Don knows what he is doing, yet a lot of people out there act like hes dumb. LOL

Hes showing some big balls by doing this and this is already impressing a lot of doubters from what I have seen.

He was actually invited by Nieto as was Hillary.
Hillary said she will be happy to speak with him again...when it's more appropriate to do so.

That's ok because she will be the envy of trump come January. When she's bundled up in her winter coat outside the capitol building with her kid gloved hand on the bible. Taking the oath of office.

It depends who is in the drivers seat, and the US has the money and the consumers. And there isna huge market. Mexico will want to sell their goods to the US and will make the concessions. June 2016 we had a 44.4 billion dollar trade deficit. We buy more from them than they do from us. We have the buying power. They dont want to lose that. Just like China, though China has a larger market to sell to and a much larger store to sell from. Money talks though, and for the forseeable future, the US is one of the few at the top, if not the top country in the position of the most buying power globally. So the cost of the wall, which is 10-25 billion depending on who you quote, is about half or less of one months trade deficit. We have the power in that deal, and likely is why Mexico wants to speak with Trump. They know if he wins it could be very bad for them financially. BTW, my source for the trade deficit is census.gov/foreign-trade/balance/c2010.html in case you would like to research it yourselves.

It shows impulsiveness. It shows he's easily influenced. It shows he's a I'll do it if I want to Trump.

Mexico's President knows he messed up bad. He's trying to save face. Once Trump is in office maybe we can hire the same people/companies who built their southern border wall to go ahead and put up one on their northern border too..

It's not. It's a legitimate invitation both him and Hillary were invited.

True they just showed a graph on the tv. Illegal crossings are way way down and there's only 700 or so miles of fencing. No physical barrier is necessary.

Nope. Illegal crossings are way way down.
No records being set this year unless it's an all time low.

Don't be mean. She wasn't lying. Lying means she knows it's not true and she says it anyway. Her source was incorrect. That's all. Jesus.

I remember hearing something about less people coming from Mexico and even some going back.

Something about being here not really being all that much better anymore and even worse to some.

Yay go us.
