Fixed it, sorry. It was an invitation to both candidates.

Yea, IDK how it works in politics. Is it open invitation? Say he wanted to stop in around midnight, is that cool?

I'm sure the economy in Mexico is so much better than here. But it is Obama's economy, and it isn't good, correct?

As for the fruit picker job, do you have any video of Americans losing their construction jobs to the hoards of illegal immigrants? Do you think it's exceptable to pay illegal immigrants lower than minimum wage to pick fruit? How does that benefit this country?

A wall will save this country money, and you can not deny it.

Illegal Immigration from Mexico cost this country over 113 billion dollars per year. Source: www.fairus.org...

Trump estimates the wall to cost 12 billion, Washington Post estimates 25 billion.

So the wall would save American tax payers potentially 99 billion dollars a year/or 1 Trillion dollars per decade.

Seems like one huge investment for the American people.

Build that wall

No thanks. I prefer fact and proper perspective over blowing taxpayer money on BS.

Reality Check

Given that huge portions of our illegal immigrant problem stem not from those "greasy border jumpers", but from people from other countries overstaying their visas, coming in on false visas, ect, a wall on the Mexican border is like putting a condom on your finger thinking that will prevent pregnancy and STD.

The actual costs of a wall go beyond just building it, but maintaining it, manning it, ect. It's one of Trump's epic fails in understanding immigration, economics, and cause/effect.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

I honestly hope this invite is real, and that Trump doesn't come up with some lame reason not to go. Because I'd actually be more interested in watching a televised exchange between the two than a debate between the Stump and Killary.

It should be an interesting meeting. I am seeing some people on this thread and the Hillary shills on the mainstream media saying this is just pandering or trying to improve his image. He can't won with these people. If he doesn't go to an NAACP invitation, he is avoiding black people, if he goes and meets the President of Mexico, he is just pandering.

I think at the very least it takes courage for him to go to meet in a place where he may not be perceived well. Most candidates, Hillary included, will only go to where they will be cheered. Could you see HIllary for instance goig to speak in front of the NRA?

It would be nice if he can actually have a productive conversation with Mexico's president. Heck, I hope Hillary accepts the invitation and has a productive conversation. The immigration situation in the US is a mess, and I would just like to see progress on it, and if this meeting can help with that, I am all for it.

He really has no business meeting with President Nieto about US policies. He holds no office.

Dear Leader did the same thing before he was Dear Leader.

First of all, name who you are naming. Second of all. Obama is smart and Trump is ...well, not.

So, maybe yu got me on that point. But Trump visiting the Mexican President? Come on.

Obama is smart alright.

Smart enough to make money without working a day in his life for it.

Smart enough to fool enough people all of the time.

Charlie Mason and Jim Jones smart.

Trump is meeting with mexican prez tomorrow to tell him about the Wall and to make sure he has enough housing for an influx of repatriated citizens.

That's different--Trump is a racist, bigot, homophobe.

Yeah, definitely that but the real difference is that Obama was a politician, whereas Trump is a villainous reality TV star. (using the title star generously here).

That is true, Obama held an actual office.

But he never held an actual job.

Con man doesn't qualify.

No one knows how many come over the border but 2016 was a record.

However a massive amount of the illegal drugs in this country come over the boarder; and let's say 50% of illegals.

To stop the drugs alone would be an achievement and potentially save lives.

I'm also part Hispanic and still have family in Nicaragua I think it's pathetic you're referring to Hispanics as greasy border jumpers.

Paying for the wall will be done with tariffs. There wont be a bill so to speak. And I am less worried of mexicans and drugs coming over the border than enemy combatants and weapons. Honestly, I have worked with many mexicans over the years and they are generally good people. Hard working too. I think if Trump does this right he may be able to reach the mexican president on issues like actually helping people not have to be second class people in the US, running from INS and working in deplorable conditions. Thats what the dems want to continue, kept people who they can manipulate by terror of losing benefits or being shipped off. It doesnt take brain scientist to see it as it is. Or a rocket surgeon...

Your source sucks....

Peña Nieto last Friday invited both Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to visit Mexico, his office said in a statement provided to The Washington Post on Tuesday night.

www.washingtonpost.com... 3e51a2f424d_story.html

They were both invited. The entire OP and your responses are bs opinion and lies...

"Greasy border jumpers" and other terms are what the Trump camp uses to identify their boogey man. That you support Trump and don't find that offensive is beyond me. That you support building a giant wall between you and your family is even more mind blowing. I have two nephews and a niece of are Half Mexican. My nephew got called a greasy border jumper by a couple of Chump supporters at the convention in San Jose. Despite the fact that he, his siblings, and his father were all born and raised in the U.S.

Yeah, the border has a huge problem. Drug cartels pretty much own the strip. The place is a war zone. We seriously need to stop the flow of drugs, weapons, and criminals into this country, coming through our Mexican border. You know what would be a really effective way to stop the drugs, the violence, and the illegals that come in, too?

HOW ABOUT THE U.S. STOP SENDING MONEY, WEAPONS, AND AID TO DRUG CARTELS AND THE CORRUPT OFFICIALS WHO KEEP THE TRAIN ROLLING??????????????????????????????????????????

Why do so many Mexicans come here? Because their country is a hell hole of violence, corruption, and poverty. A hell hole that WE are half responsible for creating in the first place. You want to fix the problem at our border? Why don't you start with the source of our problems? The CIA, DEA, and the war on drugs?

You fix that, you've fixed 75% of the reason people from Mexico are sneaking in.

Do I hear the Chump bring this up at all? Nope.

Drugs come in by planes, boats, subs, tunnels and by paying off people at border check points. A wall will not stop drugs, nor will it stop illegals who will simply come another way. As Trumps people have said they push the wall because it is simple to understand. When you have a very complex problem that has no easy answers, politically it is easiest to sell a simple concept like a wall. If you had people across the border offering you tons of jobs that would make your families lives easier would you let a wall stop you? These are people who risk death from bandits or dishonest guides, cross deserts, cross fences, travel hundreds of miles on foot to place the do not know to take jobs that involve hard labor and low pay. Do you think a wall is going to stop them? Would it stop you?

As for the OP, Trump is desperately looking for a way to reverse his hardliner immigration policies so he can try and get back in the race. So far every time he tried his supporters get unhappy. He is likely looking for something from the Mexican President he can use to sell his softer immigration stance. Frankly if he has done this before the convention he might be able to pull it off. Now it just comes off as desperate. And with super fear and hate convention and then actions after he had driven people to far away to be reached. He might as well stick with what has been doing and go down doing it his way instead going down jumping all over the place on issues because of polls.

If Trump places tariffs on Mexican goods the will do the same to US goods and we will end up in a trade war, with global support for Mexico. The cost to the economy would be staggering. Bush tried this in 2002 to protect the steel industry, the result was the EU and others preparing to place tariffs on US goods which would have cost the US dearly so Bush backed off. Unilateral use of tariffs are no longer tolerated in the world and as the US is the second largest exporter in the world we are vulnerable to a trade war.

Of course she is. Fast and Furious, anyone?

But Hillary isn't the one spouting her mouth about immigration and wall building, Chump is. And by looking at his statements on the issue, his rants, it's pretty clear he has no interest in actually getting to the source of the problem any more than Hillary Clinton does. It's also clear he doesn't even get the reasons our immigration problem exist in the first place.

Yeah, Jill Stein, as well as Gary Johnson, both hate stated the War on Drugs needs to end, as well as the support and aid we render cartels and corrupt governments and regimes that keep the circus going. But of course, they are also third party candidates who are going to me widely ignored by the media and the electorate.

A wall will slow and decrease the flow of drugs over the border, which is harder, flying it in or driving to the border and loading a box truck.

Transporting them in subs, planes, ect would drive up the cost of drugs.

Despite how hard you try to, you will not convince people who've heard him speak in full context, that he is a racist.

If I hear him say greasy border jumpers I'll change my vote.

I want a wall to keep drugs and illegals out; I'm not worried about it blocking my family because they'd be smart enough to drive or fly in LEGALLY. That's the entire point.

I'm sure tomorrow CNN and Huffington post will announce his visit a failure because the Mexican government won't reach a wall deal in his first visit before he's even Potus.
