Well, that's why I keep coming back!

Mandela Effect or just a normal run of the mill mental neurosis?

In my timeline, we call it "The Morgan Freeman" effect.

Sounds fun, as I live in NYC.

However, anonymity is compromised by such a situation.

Real names are not required.

Sounds to me more like you're expected to be the life of the party, girl!!

Gus has us all anticipating quite a show of unabashed fun! You're not the hostess?

She is our co-hostess and behind the scenes qualifier.

This is an above top secret covert meeting. How else would we do it?

NYC is general enough for the public to know if they will be able to join us for a day or not.

Also, we're all highly paranoid individuals with unknown enemies and unknown triggers... we're trying to be as safe about it as possible. It's not a huge event. It's drinks in a bar(s), and some touristy wandering around with me if you're up for that.

Also, this way... we will know who to expect. Everyone will be on a list. The list.

lol! I just do what I'm told.

JK! But for real. I do.

I actually wanted all of us to go to the David Icke show in that other thread... and I admit, I tried to lure Augustus into that event but I failed miserably. Then when I noticed how he perked up at the notion of alcohol being involved, I knew right away how to draw him in. I take full responsibility. !

Now we're just trying to meet up at some place or two and have a good time.

If you do travel to NYC, make sure you get time to do what you want to do. See what you want to see. Take your time about it and relax and enjoy NYC for yourself. I know that if I get royally stood up, I will be able to enjoy NYC on my own. You know? And if that does happen I'll have a really nice thread for ATS afterwards, I'm sure, too, LOL!

Alright. Hope this helps.

Thanks!! Yeah, I think I'd rather see national landmark sites (the Met, best pubs, etc) than Icke, but if I were a local, I can see how that would fit in with the crowd. Makes perfect sense. For some of us it'll be a kid in a candy shop, livin' a fantasy.

I'm actually pretty excited about the remote possibility it works out for me. Since there's no "RSVP by" date, right? I mean, when the PMs stop is the cutoff -

Kinda really want to do this now!

It really was that easy.

So sad.

That's what I would have needed to hear myself. Icke or Alcohol and the Met? That's easy!

Yeah. Alcohol and the Met. Designated drivers and come-as-you-are open house style. Optional.
I think it's great. Maybe one day we can do it in Houston or Denver or Minneapolis or San Francisco or Portland or Kansas City or Chicago or Cleveland or Boston!

Travel club! Haha!!!!

Designated drivers...

We call those taxis in NYC.

You know, there could always be two different groups. Like when you're on a cruise, and have activities to choose from.....

Or a business conference, with 'break-out sessions'........

Anyway, you guys know what I mean? Kind of an 'if you want' thing.

We were going to do an afternoon and evening session. Museum (or whatever) and then off to a bar or two. You can do one or both.

But if a group of you wants to go and do your own thing and then hook up later I say go for it. Just watch out for the CHUD.

LOL!!!

Derp. Haha!! We have only about eight taxis here. They all stay parked in front of the convention hotels.

If you're at a bar, you have to make a call and ask for one to pick you up (except on New Years Eve, then the taxi companies do their charity thing: "free taxi rides home all day the 31st and until 4 am the first!"

Yeah. No subway or el either.

Once when our train pulled in from Chicago (where I'd been visiting my daughter), there wer a young dad and his daughter getting off on the platform. The little girl (about four) asked what the steps led to (metal utility stairs outside next to the tracks). He said, "That's where people go to catch the buses and taxis and shuttles."

LOL!!!
I turned and said, "no. We don't have that, but maybe some day!" We all laughed.
