So...let me get this straight.

Someone who is filthy rich and doesn't need to takes advantage of laws intended to help those who are honestly not rich and in trouble and that's okay.

Got it

Because the bar just keeps getting set lower and lower thanks to partisans who selectively care about things that matter.

That's why it is so important to hold your own candidate/party to the same standard as the opposition. What comes around eventually goes around.

I've had this fantasy, that once he gets in, he starts putting people in elected positions on blast for screwing over the american people, exposing some truth and trying to end corruption.
It seems more and more likely that he will not. It's sad.
I really believed that he would be the real "change" candidate that I was hoping Obama would be.
Ever since he was a shoe in for the Rep. nomination, he's more of a member of the club, instead of the outsider he once was.
That being said, I still have more faith in him than HRC to help middle class americans day to day. That's why he will have my vote

HAHA! Is Trump taking the 5th with the American people, to avoid self incrimination? It sure looks like it!

“Mr. Trump has said that his taxes are under audit and he will not be releasing them,” Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign chairman, said.

There is no law that says that a presidential candidate must release his or her individual tax returns to the public. Politicians just try to out maneuver, and out onemanship each other, by releasing their tax returns.

And Clinton hasn't released the text of her speeches to Wall Street bankers, either.

She said she would when the 'others' did. They didn't.

Seriously? This off-topic thing again? For the 15th time in the thread?

ETA: I direct your attention to this thread here if you wish to discuss that topic. Rude of me not to have included it for you as I did for most of the others.

Her speaking fees were in her returns, eh? Speaking engagements she made money for during her time as a private citizen? Or was that while she was losing her emails too?

You people crack me up.

If Trump wants to declare himself the best candidate for the economy, because of his business acumen, then he should release his tax returns, as a teaching tool.

How TV Networks Can Force Trump to Release His Tax ReturnsHow TV Networks Can Force Trump to Release His Tax Returns

Since tough questioning has failed to hold the candidate accountable, broadcast outlets need to apply pressure where it counts—to Trump’s ego.

The Atlantic's generally pretty good, but I don't agree. I think it's probably in large part his ego that's preventing him from releasing the returns.

Then this dude goes on to say...

he media is nothing if it can’t hold a presidential candidates accountable—if newsrooms and editorialists can’t force a White House aspirant to keep a promise, uphold precedent, and address suspicions that he’s a tool of Moscow.

Journalism is a joke if we let Donald Trump slide.

And so I have an idea for CNN, MSNBC, FOX News and the three broadcast networks:

Stop interviewing Trump, and stop paying his surrogates, until he releases his tax records.

I don’t make this proposal lightly. I understand as well as anybody that interviewing presidential candidates is an important way to inform the public, especially when the questioning is objective, tough, and revealing of the candidate’s character and policies.

Again...not going to work. He already said he'll only talk to FoxNews, and they'll buck this anyway. Maybe stop covering him altogether.

But I'd really like to hear some tough questions on the Russia thing.

Crazy stuff. Here's hoping to it getting even crazier.

I am an expert.

Not really, no expert would declare a document a forgery that they have never ever examined!

but on this issue, it's really none of your business.

The motto here is "Deny Ignorance", however some people, like birthers, seem to think it is "Embrace Ignorance! At least it looks like that in the way they push the stupid birther conspiracy theories!

Remember, every single birther claim has been shown to be false, every single court case birthers have attempted, over 2000 of them, has failed.... as all birthers have are silly made up stories and fake claims!

What is Trump so afraid of, that he refuses to show his tax returns?

I know you're trying to pigeonhole this discussion away from Hillary because you want a Trump bash thread. Which is fine, but

IRS launches investigation against Clinton Foundation.

With respect to tax documents, you're trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Nice way to cherry pick my words without including the context.

I stated I am an expert in graphic design and I am. I have a BFA with a concentration in graphic design. I have nearly 20 years working professionally in the field. I have ordered MANY embossed and debossed materials to be produced. I am an expert on the subject of embossment and debossment.

Factcheck.org took a series of high resolution photos of Obama's short form birth certificate for the precise purpose of allowing people to examine it. It is 100% clear, the seal on the back of that record is debossed. Given they also took photos of the front of the document/back of the seal, the debossment is indisputable. There's no ambiguity. In fact, Factcheck.org labeled the back of the seal as, "The raised seal." They acknowledge the back of the seal is raised, not the front. The seal is debossed and this isn't rocket science.

You tell me, hellobruce. Is the seal you see below raised or not?

I'd love to hear your answer. Because Factcheck.org says the above shows a "raised" (embossed) seal. Do you agree?

I mean, I assume you want me to take Factcheck's word for it considering they handled the document and took all the photos. Taking their word for it would be 'denying ignorance,' eh? They were Obama's go-to for all questions related to his birth certificate. Arlen Specter even said he referred to Factcheck in determining Obama's birth certificate was authentic.

Factcheck.org says the above photo shows a raised seal. Is that what you see?

Also, YOU are the one who is ignorant on this topic. Unlike you, I actually wrote open records requests to the Hawaii Department of Health to glean information straight from the source.

You did not. You are ignorant of the facts, in this case. But then being from New Zealand, you don't have the option to oversee our government through open records law. That's the job of U.S. citizens.

Why is someone from New Zealand so interested in squelching questions about Obama's citizenship? Again, the entire point of the Natural Born Citizen clause is to thwart foreign influence. So, mind your own business or fess up...what's your real agenda here?

ETA: And, BTW, I invite you to ask for Trump's tax returns all you want and speculate. I am no Trump fan. Have at it!

Right, because electing a 1%er to the highest office of land, who possible is bought and paid for by the Russian oligarchy, is just a little "mole hill"!
