If there is ongoing coup right now, it is the coup of Erdogan and his team against the constitutional order in the founded by Kemal Atatürk secular Turkey.

Whatever the motivations and justification of the military were, that I do not share, what we have right now is emboldened Erdogan who takes full advantage, forgetting any promises of amnesty given to CNN and possibly directly to the coupists who surrendered quite easily. The world and the region soon will see the rise of a monster that will hardly be quelled if at all by NATO membership of Turkey. Perhaps war with Russia? One can only guess, having in mind bloody centuries behind and ambitions for mega Turkey that no other NATO country have.

Good luck to them if they start any future conflict with Russia because Putin is just raring to take a bite out that big Turkish apple.

And to be honest, NATO country or not i really don't wish to see the other member nations being brought in to a conflict because of Turkish ambitions, or should i say because of Erdoğan's ambitions.

I think its also safe to say any hope of them joining the EU anytime soon just went right out the window.

I imagine a rash of assassination attempts against E will soon be forthcoming.

So is the coup put down or are we seeing the "possible uprisings" Erdogan warned about.

They don't exactly seem to be the most stable of nations at the best of times. All one to me all the same as my own nation voted for brexit. There part of NATO through and the idea of a NATO nation having numerous military coups scares the crap out of me to be honest.

No harm to the Turkish people, i hope Erdogan plays nice but chance would be a fine thing indeed.

yes but before yesterday turkey was due access to freedom of movement in europe from october this year, Brexit expeted out by december 2018 thats 2 years of uncontrolled migration

If im correct they will pretty much become useless if someone tampers with them.

That's good, but thats a lot of weapons grade material if it fell into the wrong hands. If that ever transpires, hope not.

I seem to remember someone else claiming there was talk on Twitter regrading a dirty bomb being in play.

Could do a lot of damage with such a thing. Don't think they would ever be allowed to get near the nukes all the same when there acting the way they are, certainly hope not.
