The thread went nowhere as expected. In fact, it looks like most of your threads contain little to no substance as well.
Actually, that thread is quite substantive. Why not address the points made in it rather than the person who authored it?

The silly argument about the oblateness of Earth has been addressed. Please, address the issue of Polaris.

Ha! Ignorant ape, was wondering when you'd stop buy. Look, I honestly mean no offence to you but I'm not here to explain anything, but the fact that you're asking me that question raises other concerns.

You started a thread sometime back, it was something like, debunking the flat earth step by step, or words to that effect. The thread went nowhere as expected. In fact, it looks like most of your threads contain little to no substance as well. You've posted at least a couple hundred threads now with 90+% receiving less than 10 replies.

Again, no offence, but you post rubbish, absolute diatribe, and have attempted to derail more threads than I care to remember...enough said.

No offence? Didn't you JUST call us all "ball earth retards" and morons?

Hey ignorant ape and Phage...no offense but you are ball earth retards.

I just really want to know why? Who is doing this and why? What do they gain?

The people who propose the idea of a flat Earth are the same as those who propose the world was created in 7 days.

They are scientifically bankrupt and want to debase truth to fit their agenda.

Or they are just arseholes who have no clue and love YouTube more than their very own wives...I use the word wives reservedly.

Agreed. Until everyone figures out that science and religion have common, I don't know, interests? then the social divide will increase more and intelligence will fall in the hands of atheists, Jesuits and...Jesuits.

Science and religion have nothing in common. Science is there to educate the masses, religion is there to control them

That is not true at all. The search for answers is at least one thing that they have in common. Not every religious person is in a religion or controlled by one. You seem not to like religion and who could blame you?

But that doesn't make your stereotypes true. I read the # out of religious books and science and religion have much in common.

Nikola Tesla was even inspired by things he read in the Bible, it was a source of Wisdom for that great a mind.

Albert Einstein's favorite book was Isis Unveiled by H.P. Blavatsky, the Theosophist.

I can only chuckle when I hear things like that. You are just either not creative enough, great a scientific mind or just don't like religion if you can not see science and religion as compatible or having anything in common.

God is science. But science isn't God.

Most folks I've come across over the years are reluctant to come forward with their findings regarding the Earth plane.

Seems internet bullying takes its toll; isn't that right, 3danimator2014, Phage, and ignorant ape?

No scope for logical, open debate, never. Takes its toll.

There were some very important and indeed knowledgeable folks here years ago, but they're ALL gone now, and what remains is this cesspool, a shadow of ATS's former self.

I never gave a flat earth a second thought until it just suggested itself to me and I needed a good laugh, so I clicked.

I believe some things that are not mainstream but that is just because the mainstream is dishonest and I am forced to work around it. I have it down good and things are going fine.

But these flat earth people just piss me off. They track airplanes online and this is what seems to be their evidence. They claim the southern hemisphere in the Pacific is not tracked by GPS and that pilots never have to adjust for curvature.

And really present no feasible model for a flat earth, just a disc surrounded by ice floating like a DC universe type southern pointing semi-conical stationary pseudo-planet with an invisible dome.

I guess all the good fake conspiracies have been exhausted.

I just really want to know why? Who is doing this and why? What do they gain?

Any facts, names or theories why they are doing this would be great. Thanks!

Hint..A handful of people believe in Flat Earth, the rest are trolling. Im not sure why people who dont believe it keep bringing it up. Just ignore them

Sounds like solid advice to me.

Saturn's hexagon is way more interesting anyway and I can see that. That is mind blowing, what are the odds of the planet represented by the hexagram having a hexagon AND being the 6th planet from the sun?

Awesome post dude. 100% ad hominem.

I have to admit though, "ball earth retard" DID make me laugh. I'm not proud of it. But it's got a certain ring to it.

Come on man. That's attaching meaning to something isn't there. It's coincidence. They do happen. What about all the other shapes that form on planets that are not "related" to anything.

That being said, the Saturn hexagon is stunning. I 2ill miss getting all these amazing insights into the saturnian system when the end Cassinis life next year. One of Nasas best missions.

Ok, getting back to the OP.

Who is doing this?

As far as I can tell they're just regular folk, like you and me. No angles as such and when you speak to people who are interested in this subject, there appears a genuine concern for the validity of the presence of a spinning ball/oblate spheroid beneath our feet.

Some arguments presented appear to defy currently accepted scientific models and theories pertaining to the shape of the Earth.

While other FE theories appear to fall 'flat' on their face, pun intended.

Indeed, there are many questions, and even more dilemmas once one strays down this path.

Everyone wants answers, proof or it doesn't exist, photo or it never happened, you get the gist.

At this stage, the scene is set and the play continues. I can't offer any proof because I simply haven't reached a conclusion as yet, and I'm more doubtful now than I've ever been that I will ever reach a conclusion, it's as if we're not meant to know. There seem to be many layers involved here, most appear tangible while others not so.

For a moment, let's consider the Earth to be 'flat'. What would be the immediate ramifications if such were true?

Well, first you'd have to agree that gravity doesn't exist as we wouldn't be spinning whereby the Earth wouldn't be 'manufacturing', 'producing', 'causing' gravitational waves.

So we have to immediately replace the 'gravity theory' with a rather clear understanding of density. Ok, cool so far.

Next, we'd have to look at the edge, right? I mean c'mon, everyone wants to see the edge.

So, we plan 4 expeditions, each heading towards their respective compass points. All four groups start from the equator, one north, one south, one east, and one heading west.

We would find that the first group winds up at the ice wall, some 12 thousand miles away.

The second group would also hit the ice wall, some 4 thousand miles away.

The third group would continue in a loop around the equator, same is true for the last group, but they would cross each other's path twice upon full circumnavigation of the flat Earth.

Ok, so we use the first two expeditions and scale the wall onto the Antarctic plateau. We travel in a linear direction 180 degrees from our starting point.

We reach the edge? Or do we hit the Firmament? Is there an edge at all or is it part of a continuum of the plane itself? Who knows?

Ok, so let's say the Earth is flat and we humans have reached the edge and find ourselves presented with the Firmament, the dome.

First thought. Sheesh, it's the friggin Truman Show for real. Wait a minute, it dawns on all of us...who built it?

Half the expedition set up camp at the base of the dome, while the other half postulate climbing the inside of the dome.

What would the dome be comprised of? What gives it form, shape, and rigidity. Would it be constructed of glass, metal, some unknown compound perhaps. Would it be a solid as we know solids to be?

Upon ascent along the inside of the dome, at what point would you discover 'stars'. Are they really trillions of light years away or they situated within the dome structure? What if you came across something that resembled a small metal like ball that glowed red hot, somehow stuck to the inside of the dome, emitting star like properties?

Or maybe the stars are not fixed as such and operate within some type of solar levitation like field, who knows?

Maybe they are just holograms, the stars and the planets?

The sun. Dagon, lucifer, beelzelbub, Osiris, Satan, Lilith, etc, etc...All roads lead to Rome. All names of the same deity, the sun.

...no offense but you are ball earth retards.

Good point, .. we're all beginning to lose sight of the real issue here, which is “what are we going to call ourselves?” ...
Call it extreme if you like, but I think it comes down to a choice between "Ballers" or "Re-Earthers" , not withstanding my personal preference which is "Tarballs"..

oh dear - our new member is now investing time and effort into describing its fantasies about the form and implications of an hypothetical flat earth - but is not prepared to address any of the science that validates the spheroid model - go figure

i think this thread is cooked

Is Mars flat too?. Seriously, from Copernicus right up to modern satellite imagery, NOBODY but the indoctrinated would ever try to claim this flat-earth bull#.

Another poster mentioned it's to discredit other CT's, I think it's to "discredit" all scientific knowledge for the Christians that adhere to this flat-crap; from climate change to modern psychiatry, all of it is now considered "bull#" by the flat-crap loons, just trust "god" and send your donations to the Church of We Hate The Modern World.

It is a conspiracy IMHO, a conspiracy to keep people stupid and supporting a "religion" that has been on the shelf long past its expiry date.

i heared thsi theroy a while ago and liek most peopls comments. its silly.

it went away for abit and then re-surafced, i think because of this so-called popular rapper called BOB

www.theguardian.com...

here are a few quotes from him

"A lot of people are turned off by the phrase ‘flat earth’ ... but there’s no way u can see all the evidence and not know... grow up,”
“No matter how high in elevation you are... the horizon is always eye level ... sorry cadets... I didn’t wanna believe it either,

amusing.

he tweets all he time about it. i think this is one of many reasons why its re-surfaced again recently.
