This is -- and probably always was -- about men forcing themselves into the ladies' room.

If it were otherwise, then -- at the very least -- there would be some criteria included that would separate cisgender and autogynephilic men from those who actually make the effort to transition to a woman. But there is no such criteria, so any man is free to use the ladies' room, dressing room, locker room, shelters, etc.

Gender means nothing at this point. As long as anyone can make up their own definition, it has no meaning.

Good lord you sure are obsessed with pushing transgender politics, aren't you?

There is no agenda, just a few overly sensitive activists.

No agenda?
I guess that's why it's been front page news everyday for the last several months.
Determining who gets to use which toilet is vital to the future of society.
The economy, National debt, saber rattling over the Ukraine all definitely pale in importance.

Then maybe you should address them since they are the ones throwing millions of labels around. Why complain here about 1 label which just so happens to be aimed at the very people labeling every single person using those millions of labels that they themselves invented.

And if it is inventiveness that you seek then that would just be 1 more reason to address those sort of people. I only need 2 to make my point , snowflake and SJW and am not able to offer you more. So if you seek diversity and inventiveness in your labeling or want to criticize it i would suggest that you take it up with the "labelists" a.ka Liberals since they seem to have a entire dictionary dedicated to it.

You act as if people on reddit, tumblr or wherever you lifted this from, speak for "the left" or for the Trans* community at large, etc. You find the most extreme example and claim it is the most common one.

Aside from that, why do you care how others identify themselves? You have a gender identity that probably fits your biological sex. Good for you. Many do not. Why does it matter?

It couldn't have anything to do with States like North Carolina and Mississippi passing legislation that establishes the State as the "pee police" ... now could it?

It's all just "SJWs" (that clearly exist on the Right perhaps even more prevalently than the Left) stirring the pot, right?

Or those militant Trans* folks who just want to keep using the facilities that match their gender, as they have.

Please.

I know this thread is about your fear.

I was responding to a statement made from ignorance. Part of a quote in the OP. What's the motto of ATS, again?

MEN WHO ARE BIOLOGICALLY MALE AND HAVEN'T GONE THROUGH THE SURGERY GET THE HELL OUT OF OUR BATHROOMs.

WE DON'T WELCOME YOU. WE DON'T FEEL SAFE WITH MEN IN OUR CANS.

WE DON'T ALLOW OUR GIRLS TO BE ACCESSED BY BOYS OR EMBARRASED AND SCARRED FOR LIFE.

YOU SOUND VERY CONFUSED YOURSELF!

Are you a woman who is biologically/anatomically female?

Awesome. You have a gender identity that fits the facilility you wish to use.

Now, the issue is, with laws like NC and others, you must prove this fact to use the facilities.

So you won't mind a blood test at the door of the loo, or having a State mandated Genital Verification Officer look at your bits ...

... right?

... right?

I mean, we can't just take your word for your gender, now can we?

The solution has always been an easy one. Unisex bathrooms with enclosed urinals and stalls. There should be cameras inside every restroom, but of course, not in the urinals or stalls. Problem solved. One large bathroom for everyone with surveillance.

Not ideal, but at this point, I see few alternatives. It's a bit late to go back now. We have to deal with it.

Back to the topic of the thread...

No LGBT activist was upset because the guy told lifeguards that men identifying as men couldn't use the ladies' room. That was not the issue. The issue was HOW he told them. He told them in a way that demeaned and made fun of transgender people.

For some reason the OP is claiming that "all the LGBT activists promised us that this wasn't about letting men into the women's room and they LIED!" This is an unfounded claim. No one is saying that men who identify as men should be able to go into the women's room. If the guy had just sent a straightforward email telling the men to stop going to the women's room, without saying "if you're not sure, go to Target", then the lifeguard bathroom problem would not be a public issue.

Are the LGBT activists getting a little too upset at the man's poor use of humor? Maybe, but since the email was made public, people have a right to respond any way they want to it. Free speech and all that.

Bottom line is the activists in the article were NOT saying that men who identify as men should be able to go to the women's room anytime they feel like it.

Back in the days we had the Lesbian/Gay movement, which i support.

Then the T came in, and the term LGBT was termed.

I was not happy about it, being lesbian/gay is a sexual orientation.
Being Trans is a body/gender issue.

2 completely different topics.
This whole Bathroom issue is a Trans topic.

Lesbians/Gays have nothing to do with it. They have the least problem in using a same sex bathroom.

Oh don't slink away from the debate so callously now...You just basically said "I'm not Trans so meh...not my problem" on top of denouncing the T over semantics of differing definitions. How about the simple fact that EVERYONE under the LGBT banner identifies with a very small percentage of the overall population that has been marginalized and dehumanized for ages. Where is the camaraderie for your fellow victims of oppression? You sound like a compassionately lazy person with an attitude like "Hey our fight is over, we got want we wanted so screw them they're not really us anyway" despite the fact that members from the T part of that group stood next to you and yours in your fight for equality since day one.

Just another who just can't fathom the concept of Trans so throws their arms up like "F**** it I don't understand them so F**** them then".

For some reason the OP is claiming that "all the LGBT activists promised us that this wasn't about letting men into the women's room and they LIED!"

And for some reason, there is absolutely nothing in Obama's directive or the Target bathroom/dressing room regulations, to keep any "cisgendered" or autogynephilic men out of the ladies' room... much less sex offenders, known or otherwise. Absolutely nothing.

This is an unfounded claim. No one is saying that men who identify as men should be able to go into the women's room.

Weasel words.

"Ye shall know them by the fruits of their labor." When those pushing men into the ladies' room actually make an effort to keep the perverts and creeps out of the ladies' room, and thus demonstrate even this little tiny itsy bitsy care for the women and girls being put in danger, I will reconsider.

Until then, it is what it is.

Allow me to say that any women and/or children in any restroom I am personally in is that much safer for that fact. I'm just one of those people (not many left these day's, now they just record it) that will give my best efforts to assist an innocent being attacked by some looney toon. I keep a batmanesque assortment of cool gadgets in my bag with the added bonus of the tenacity of a pitt bull, go for the neck and put em to sleep. Much like Batman though I can't be everywhere at the same time but hey I'm just one person who makes your bathrooms that much safer.

Oh and what is it by the way? I don't know what "it" is? Would you please elaborate?

As I hear it, certain members of the "T" community have been guilty of their own oppression and bullying of the lesbian and gay communities... and I first heard this from members of the gay and lesbian community, which was confirmed by further research on the internet. For example, for some crazy reason, lesbians don't like being told that they're bigots if they won't have sex with "females" with penises... I could go on, but I don't want to derail the thread; if you need links (and I doubt it, I'm quite sure you already know), I'd be happy to supply them.

You claim "the T part of that group stood next to you and yours in your fight for equality," but perspective is everything. Some could just as easily claim (and do) that the T part of the group rode their coattails for their own self-promotion...

But I appreciate your tirade to the extent that it does shine a very small light on the big cracks in the LGBT community, and puts the lie to the whole "only Christian bigots" have a problem with the "T" agenda... So I thank you for that. Knowledge is power.

Sorry. I'm not reassured. Even if you can and will be every woman/girl's hero, you cannot be in every bathroom at all times.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If you really care about the welfare of women and girls, tell me how you'll keep the creeps and perverts out of the ladies' room.

The way all this is going, everyone is going to have to parse everything they say and write through a team of lawyers to make sure no one could draw offence from it.

I don't think it's unreasonable for men who identify as men to be told to stay out of female changing rooms or bathrooms. Not one bit.

I do think it's offensive to try and make people feel bad about themselves in the way lots of anti LBTG people are made to do and maybe that's why so many of them seem to be on a hair trigger.

The guy that wrote the email seems like a normal human being who communicates in a normal human way.
I'd rather people like that prospered over the "say nothing automata" that are infecting the workplace with their "Human Resources" speak.

Strangely you are not all that concerned about the boys. And you know what? What you have just said sounds too much like the argument they made in the 60's.

Hahahahahahaha!!!!! Which now means NOTHING!!! Men in ladies' rooms can peep to their heart's content and there's not a damn thing we can do about it.

"Officer! Officer! The man in the bathroom was watching me!!!" "Sorry, ma'am, he identifies as transgender and there's nothing we can do about that."

"Officer! Officer! The man in the bathroom was flashing his female penis at me!" "Sorry, ma'am, he identifies as transgender and there's nothing we can do about that."

"Officer! Officer! The man in the bathroom was taking pictures of me!" "Sorry, ma'am, he identifies as transgender and there's nothing we can do about that."

Please don't play stupid, Kali. We both know that you know better. I'd have more respect for your position if you just straight up said, "Yeah, that's the price we have to pay for equality -- you just need to get over being ogled, leered at, flashed and photographed by perverts." I wouldn't be any happier; but at least we'd have an honest debate.
